I'm not expecting any at the moment (unfortunately) but I am seriously tempted to buy my Grail horse (Medicine Hat Thoroughbred Mare - I found her for $46 on MH$P!) but I don't know if I can justify spending that much on a plastic horse.

It would be a nice treat for myself though!

Which one? There are a few that wouldn't be worth it, and some that would. Condition matters too

Which one? There are a few that wouldn't be worth it, and some that would. Condition matters too

It's traditional size, from the 1973 Hess Thoroughbred mare and foal models. They ran from 1994 to 1997. I just think they're pretty, and have no real intention of showing (aside from possible photo shows), so absolute perfection would not be necessary.

The one I've found is in very good condition, according to the seller, I just feel like the price is a little high... However, the same pair are going for up to $20 more on ebay I believe...

I guess part of why I don't want to buy them is because I feel like I could potentially find them somewhere else for less. I flea-market *a lot*, so I think that I could potentially find them that way, and at a less price (at any rate, I wouldn't have to pay shipping if I found them at a flea market).

I think I'll hold off for now, see if I can make a summer project of finding them at a flea market/resale shop/etc. (it's a stretch, but I can dream right? ) and if that doesn't work out, if I still feel so strongly for them I'll buy them off the internet.

I wouldn't show it or anything just to have it and get tack and all that sort of maybe like a real horse.
But I'm 15 now and I think that maybe im too old and people with think down on me for wanting a toy basically.

Well, some people that I don't like at my school say I play with 'toy horses' just because they are set out on the floor of my bedroom! But I don't care what they say. Then-again, I am younger than you.

If I were you, I would get a reasonable breyer that won't break or get damaged easily, if you are only going to get one.

Hon, people who are in their 40s are collecting Breyer horses... Dont worry about being too old >.<
Also, they dont really need to be called toys. They are collectables... people spend hundreds on one model sometimes.
That's my argument lol... and I'm 14 and no one calls me too old for it.

I think that you should continue buying them if you like them. I am 17 almost 18 and I still buy them

There are tons of older people at Breyerfest who collect them
