"oh, ha. take a wild guess." he nodded his head towards the rising sun. "ground patrol." he spat the words out, not even looking at thistleshade any more. his qualms were not with the specific cats, more with the actual patrol itself. "quit giving yerself a bath and lets get moving. wake up your fluffy friend there and wait by the camp entrance, kid." he had a habit of calling all warriors kids, no matter their age. they're all younger than me, anyways. he scanned the shady mesh of branches for another cat. he noticed a white cat stir ever so slightly. "aha!" he murmured, and tip toed to her nest, reregistering her as the she-cat warrior rabbittail. he sat silently next to her, careful not to snap a twig, waiting for her to open her eyes. when she didn't, he leaned down next to her ear. "no use pretending to sleep. this old tom sees right through that. meet me by the camp entrance for ground patrol." he turned and stalked away, not even checking to see if she was following. cats knew better than to ignore him.

foxpaw purred and felt his chest warm as his mother licked his ear. he would miss that, yes. but it was time to grow up and learn to fight and hunt. he straightened his back, freezing as snapstar's voice sounded out. ashenpaw was first, that was a relief. it gave foxpaw more time to ponder the question, who did he even want as a mentor? as ashenpaw's mentor was called out, he couldn't help but feel a pang of jealously. the clan leaders brother! that was truly a lucky assignment. foxpaw tapped his mother's side as his tail swished back and forth with apprehension. he really didn't want a young warrior, someone like stormtail. it wasn't really personal, he just wanted a cat with experience to give him. it was a good thing stormtail already had an apprentice.

"foxkit, please step forward" he heard snapstar's booming voice. trembling, he rose and faced their leader. for a second he didn't register snapstar's words, until older tom leaned forward to touch noses with him, his striking blue eyes catching foxpaw off gaurd. as their noses bumped, he felt a swell of joy overpower him. leader's apprentice! that was all he could have dreamed of! he stood frozen, unsure of where to go. most apprentices sat by their mentors... but snapstar was leading a clan meeting. where should i go? he wondered.

- He was being up for a moment before the leader started the meeting. His eyes were looking at the two kits of Smallwhisper, a little annoyed, not like he didn't like them but they were still too young and small for him to play with. Flicking his ears in interest when the voice of Snapstar echoed to the nursery and he got out almost immediately to hear what this meeting was for. When the Foxkit new was being mentioned he walked over to the newly made apprentice "ooh are you blad? you're an apprentice now...and Snapstar is your mentor..." he meowed to him, but then flattered her ears as he was not sure if he talked way too soon.

- She was not really sleeping when the wake-up call from the deputy got to her ears. She looked over at him and the other two warriors who were called to the patrol too, not really saying anything as she knew it was pointless at the moment but did Patchfur need to be so serious about the patrol? she thought to herself as she stood up to give herself quick licks to her fur. Shaking her pelt she left the brach she was being slept at and walked over to the deputy.

He was standing in the middle of the clearing, not knowing what to do or where to go. Snapstar cleared his throat, and motioned to Foxpaw with his tail to follow him. "Will you wait here, while I go talk to Dovesong?" He asked the young tom. He didn't really wait for an answer before turning and padding over to where Dovesong crouching, waiting for him.

IndentationBreezecloud was slightly surprised as the apprentice bopped him on the nose. He was taken aback and withdrew his head. Did apprentices normally do this? He shrugged it off and guided Ashen paw over to the edge of the crowd, where she moved quite a ways from him, out of reach of Breezecloud touching her, Breezecloud sighed. This one was going to be tough. He had trained other apprentices before but none of them were like this. Oh well he thought to himself. As Snapstar finished up the Meeting and turned things over to Greyfang to deal out patrols Breezecloud turned to Ashenpaw, being careful not to get to much in her space. "So do you want to go explore or..." He asked trailing off. "I can take you to see the territory if you want." Breezecloud thought it would be best if Ashenpaw got to choose what to do.

As he waited for her response he noticed Dawnblossom sitting across the camp. Breezecloud flicked his tail in greeting to the pretty she-cat. Breezecloud watched as she shook out her long coat, but he seemed to see it in slow motion. Had she always been this pretty? Breezecloud shook his head, clearing it. Looking back down at Ashenpaw who was sitting with her ears still flat. Breezecloud was sure she would warm up to him. Maybe Snapstar appointed him to the cat so that she would learn to open up to others. Breezecloud didn't know.

"Uugh, this is useless.I can't find anything that we could possibly save." With a frustrating huff and an angry swipe at the destroyed herbs, sending some skittering across the floor, Sagepaw leg the den but only went as far as staying a couple of pawsteps from it. He missed part of the meeting, but from what he could gather it was an apprentice ceremony. "That sure brings back memories. It has been moons since my apprentice ceremony with Dovesong." Awkward as the memories were, he has cherished every moment of it. Dovesong is a good mentor once they pushed past the timid barrier and he still has plenty to learn from her.

Sunpaw looked up towards his mentor as he approached, seeming too full of energy first thing in the morning. But greeted him with a smile nonetheless. "Thank you and sure, battle training doesn't sound too bad this morning." He bent his head down and took a bite from the chipmunk, letting out an amused purr at Stormtail's late remark. After a moment of chewing, he gulps down his bite and looks back up to Stormtail. " Alright, I promise no complaining about training today. If you promise to take me fishing by the river. I feel like having Minnow later. " He gives his mentor a lazy smile. Sunpaw loves his fish, not so much at the getting wet part, but he'll do it for some Minnow or maybe Salmon if he can get lucky with one.

"oh, fun... ground patrol. Where we spend part of the day practically doing nothing. Joy." Thistleshade murmurs as he watches Patchfur move on from them to his next victim, Rabbittail. He waits for Frostfeather to get up and follow her slowly. Thistleshade hoping that the four of them were enough to get started and get this done quickly. He debated a moment to go and wake up Tinypaw but decided against it. He'll show him the path they take for ground patrol when they go out hunting later in the tree. This way he can get a better view and what to possibly look out for.

Jaypool was half asleep in her nest. Turning her back towards the taking voices of Patchfur and Thistleshade. Whatever was going on she didn't want to be a part of it right now. She had a hard time sleeping last night from the growing ache in her leg and what was left of her tail. She contemplated ongoing to see Nettlepad but decided to deal with it through the night and see her in the morning. She somewhat regretted her decision till she finally passed out from exhaustion.
However, waking to no little sleep will set her mood for the rest of the day and even she didn't want to deal with that herself. So with a huff, she places a paw over her ears and tries her best to ignore the talking going on not too far from her.

greyfang nodded to snapstar and jumped back down to join the meeting. he watched as breezecloud
and snapstar touched noses with their new apprentices. the grey tom was glad that snapstar would
mentor his nephew, foxpaw. he was sure foxpaw was happy about his mentor, too.

once the meeting was dismissed, he stood up and looked across the clearing, deciding which patrols
and which cats to send out. after he made his choice, greyfang approached his sister, dapplestream,
and newphew, foxpaw. "congratulations, foxpaw. you're going to be a fine warrior in no time." he
bumped his nose against the young cat's forehead. "snapstar has an issue to attend to at the moment,
but he'll be with you shortly." greyfang told him before looking to dapplestream. "dapplestream,
can you take a few cats to the stream to hunt at noon? there'll be another hunting patrol in the forest
at the same time." he asked. as dapplestream agreed to the offer, he thanked her and headed
off to organize the other patrols.

he approached breezecloud, flicking his torn ear in greeting. "congratulations on your new
apprentice, breezecloud. i hope you haven't made any training plans yet, as i'd like to you lead this
morning's border patrol. you could show ashenpaw our territory while you're at it. oh, and take
silverblaze and snakeflower with you."

dapplestream gave foxpaw one more caring nudge. "i'll see you later, my dear. good luck today!" she
meowed before heading off. it didn't take long to spot bouldermist and she dipped her politely in greeting
as she approached the tom. "good morning, bouldermist. would you be able to join me on a hunting patrol
by the stream at noon?" the silver tabby asked, a kind smile on her face.

began taking care of maplekit. the little orange tabby squirmed around and smallwhisper nudged him with her
nose, "hey, stay still now. how do you expect to become a warrior with all your fur ruffled up like this?"

upon maplekit's question, smallwhisper thought for a moment. "no one important. it's just one of the warriors.
you'll get to know them when you're older." the molly replied. though, in all honesty, smallwhisper dreaded
the day her kits would have to become earthclan's apprentices and warriors. nothing but murderers in this
clan, she thought bitterly.

"mhm, me too!" maplekit replied to smallwhisper before she began washing him. he whined and squirmed

and let out a heavy sigh once he was a few tail-lengths away. mouse dung. she stretched her back and front
paws before sitting up in her nest. well, at least he didn't eat her. yet. rabbittail got to her paws and began
following behind the others, catching up with thistleshade. "morning, fellow victim of patchfur's wrath." she
meowed to him quietly, giving the other warrior a friendly bump with her shoulder.

His offer did leave her intrigued. She was always curious about the area, and curious what was outside of it, if she was honest. she stood, finally opening her mouth to speak "that's a good idea." the words felt hard to say, she hardly ever agreed to go off with any of the cats around here. she stretched some, ignoring the fact she was pretty tired. as long as she kept moving she'd be able to remain awake. "ive seen some of it, but not all" she added. she was too proud to admit she had been scared to stay truly by herself for longer than a few hours. She listened to his words, disappointed now. How many cats would she have to deal with today? The small bit of excitement she did have, disappeared.

"good luck on the hunt." foxpaw added, he figured that was the kind of thing he should be thinking about now. as the warriors around him dispersed, he heard a small voice from behind him.

"oh, hello alderkit." he swivled around and faced the dark-pelted kit. "i'm very glad! the apprentice den is quite different though...certainly quieter." he thought for a moment. "how many moons are you now? i'm sure you'll be joining us in the apprentice den soon enough."

smallwhisper looked up in thought for a moment before back down at her small kits. "warriors are cats who are
usually at least twelve moons old and who have passed their apprenticeship. they hunt, look after each other
and protect their clan." she meowed. well, that's what warriors are supposed to do, at least.

for a moment she hesitated to tell them what she was about to, but regardless, smallwhisper crouched down
close by her kits. "your father was a warrior, too. a brave, kind, wonderful warrior. he was the best in all the
clans." she told them quietly, a bittersweet pang in her heart. darkspot's kits deserved to know what their
father was like, even if they would never meet him or truly know who he was.

rabbittail held her breath as she heard patchfur approach her nest. oh starclan, mercy, he's right beside me!!
she was starting to panic, as if patchfur would eat her right then and there. as he leaned down closer to her
ear, she'd already made peace with her fate. this would be her end.

hearing his voice, her ears dropped low to her head and a frown appeared on her face. she opened her eyes
and let out a heavy sigh once he was a few tail-lengths away. mouse dung. she stretched her back and front
paws before sitting up in her nest. well, at least he didn't eat her. yet. rabbittail got to her paws and began
following behind the others, catching up with thistleshade. "morning, fellow victim of patchfur's wrath." she
meowed to him quietly, giving the other warrior a friendly bump with her shoulder.

- She sat near the warrior's den only a few steps away from her brother Bouldermist. She listened to the meeting going on and was not really surprised that either she or Bouldermist were not chosen to mentor either of the two apprentices. She gave her chest a few licks before giving a notice over to another young warrior "Good morning Snakeflower...any plans for today?" she asked with curiosity.

- He watched the clearing, his eyes looking over the leader and deputy there, noticing them talking but he was too far to hear what they said. Shooking his pelt he started to wash his face when the approval of some cat got his attention, it was Dapplestream who gave him a quick greeting before stopped to ask her questions "Good morning Dapplestream" he meowed looking at her for a moment "of course I would join your patrol...I have no other plans anyway...so who else is coming?" he asked.

- She gave a look around the two apprentices who got their mentors to start their long journal to become a warrior. She gave a yawn as she turned to see her kit who was talking with Foxpaw 'again one youngster left the nursery' she thought realizing that soon her kits could leave too and she could be back to her warrior duties. She didn't really mind about that as she sometimes missed going outside the camp and being inside the nursery almost all the time was boring. She shook her head watching around the cats once again, stopping to face the handsome warrior Breezecloud for a moment, she swallowed nervously before turned her look elsewhere. There was nothing wrong to have a feeling toward someone, but she felt like she could not be crushing on someone else just yet when her mate just died few moons ago.

- He watched the warriors walking here and there near the newly made apprentice Foxpaw, before turning to the tom "different? how don't say apprentices are not so noisy as we kits are..." he meowed. He looked over at Sanpastar for a moment starting to wonder which of the warrior could become his mentor when the time was right "uh? hm...almost a moon...I am five moons now so...soon I will become an apprentice too and join the same den with you again" he responded to the tom. He thought for a moment "so are you talked with your mentor yet? Is he told you what does he was planning with you today?" he kept asking.

- She was not really sleeping when the wake-up call from the deputy got to her ears. She looked over at him and the other two warriors who were called to the patrol too, not really saying anything as she knew it was pointless at the moment but did Patchfur need to be so serious about the patrol? she thought to herself as she stood up to give herself quick licks to her fur. Shaking her pelt she left the brach she was being slept at and walked over to the deputy.

He flicked his ears over to Bonepaw when the restless sleeper seemed to wake up at last "you sure had crazy dreams, you moved on your sleep I was afraid that you will fall down" he murmured the female apprentice.
