Anybody remember us?

Deacon is now 8 years old and doing amazing. He's still an aggressive little booty but he's grown so much and he's made good friends with the cat.

Hello! Here's a picture of my dog Sheridan:
Image

He's my pride and joy, and I got him like 6 years ago from the SPCA. He's missing half his foot cuz they had to amputate half of it due to (what they assumed) past damage from a trap? He's very shy and isn't a barker, but he loves to run c:

I know he's got husky in him because of his colouring, but what other breed do you think he's mixed with? He's not nearly as fluffy as a normal husky so there's gotta be something else in there.

Also if there's any CS pets that look like him you should let me know!

So me and my boyfriend have 4 dogs. 2 are mine, and 2 are his. I was trying to bath one of his dogs, and the dog bit me. The dog also bit me again while I was playing with him. Although I know it was an accident I still feel really emotionally distant from this dog. I don't have any problems with the other three dogs. They overwhelm me sometimes, though. I guess I don't really know what to do.

Next year I am going to be getting a puppy when my roommate and I are settled into our new place. I'm so excited. I've narrowed down the breeds to either French Bulldog, Pug or Boston Terrier. Which should I choose? Help! XD

You should consider your needs and what each breed comes with. Remember that all three of these dogs are also brachy/breathing-challenged breeds. Consider their exercise needs, trainability, etc.

Sounds like the dog is uncomfortable with you, I would highly recommend finding a professional trainer who can help you learn your dog's needs so you can build a relationship with him.

Alright. Who has tips on retrievals? I have a 3y/o GSD and a 1y/o malinois. My mal will retrieve something in an instant and immediately come right back to me to tug. I let him win then i have him drop it and throw that one or another toy.

My shepherd, its more fun just to have the thing. He likes tug and fetch but hes not playing with me, hes playing to get the toy. I use multiple toys to keep him moving, it took a while to build the drive he has for his toys and I get that out of him with multiple. But as soon as the toy leaves my hand, hes sluggish to come back.

Any tips or resources anyone can point me to? Thanks!
Im quitting and ISO art! Link to refs and cs thread

I saw an idea to cut a slit in a tennis ball and place treats inside, then, toss the ball a short distance inside and when they bring it back, you squeeze the ball to release a treat. Your dog will learn that he must bring that ball back to receive the treats.

Not sure is thats what you meant but it worked very well with Mazie! last night we played fetch on a hill so she got more exercise climbing up it too ;)

Anyways! While I’m here, Mazie’s Royal Canin dna and health test results came back yesterday! Apparently her great grandparent was half collie! That was a shock to me because I was under the understanding she was a purebred Australian Shepherd. Oh well lol

@Huggles Have you ever tried any possession games before? They can really help speed a dog up in retrievals. I did it with my Border Collie who wasn’t as fast as I wanted returning to me.
