Reaching into her bag, Laura felt around for the pokeball, while keeping an eye on the nearly-fainted Mudbray. Finally, she felt one and pulled out out. Clicking the button to bring it to it's full size, she threw it at the Mudbray and crossed her fingers, hoping to hear that satisfying click.

Kitt and their Cyndaquil head to route one.

They walk along as other trainers battle various Pokémon, looking for someone to battle with. Cyndaquil is lazy, though, clinging onto Kitt's leg so that they could cut the whole walking thing. They yawn, but when rustling in bushery ahead of them occurs, Kitt stops, and Cyndaquil glances up to see what the problem is.

Kailani rushes into the laboratory, hair undoubtedly a mess. She'd given up on taking the taxi (curse those traffic jams) long ago, deciding that it would be better to run the rest of the way there. As the professor speaks, she nods along, focusing more on the small forms in front of her. Rather than choosing one of the more outgoing starters, the new trainer smiles and holds her fist out to a blue, otter-like creature. As long as it's a water-type (or any type, really), she doesn't care how strong it is.

"Why are you hiding, bud?" Kailani asks. "Don't like strangers?"

Toto cheerfully exited the lab, Popplio in tow. "You excited too, little guy?" She asked, and the Popplio yipped in response. Grinning, she led the Pokémon to a bench and sat down. No Pokémon would be in her possession without a name, so she took a moment to think of one. Settling on Kani, she asked the Popplio his opinion, receiving another yip. With the confirmation, she smiled and headed to the route just outside her town - just like all other new Pokemon trainers had to, right?

—vanessa watched the kyogre swim in front of her, doing circles in the water and amusing lavender. she then glanced to zeraora, who offered her a great ball. eyes widening, she grabbed the object from the pokemon. she now held two pokeballs, one belonging to the former kyogre, and the great ball she was just handed. she looked between the both of them, a smile settling on her face.

"I don't know about the two of you, but i don't want this adventure to end... and it seems like you don't either.." she hummed. ignis emerged from his ball, and so did raiden, the two expectantly watching with curious gazes. lavender let out a cry of excitement, awaking kepler who also joined them by coming out of his pokeball.

zeraora walked over, crouching to reach the party pokemon's height. and with that, vanessa set the great ball against zeraora's head. she then turned to kyogre, "so, let's make it official?" she offered, holding the kyogre's previous pokeball toward it, for it to retract.

"Perhaps you'd like to have a Pokémon battle, to further strengthen your bond?" He offers, holding out his own Pokéball, that lets out a joyful Caterpie.

"If you win, i'll grant you a prize!" He adds, motioning to a small box on his desk.
