ould push her harder and harder. many days, she felt like she was buckle under the weight
of everyone's expectations of her. naexi began to be viewed as one of the few that would be
able to leave the village and become successful outside of it, they expected her to join the
military. she didn't go through the normal rebellious phase most teenagers would, instead s-
he channeled her teenage rage and angst into her combat training. around this time, her vi-
llage payed to sent both her and her sister off to a bigger village farther south. here, naexi
became an army apprentice. just a few months into her training in the military academy, a
soilder thought she was getting too cocky and attacked her, almost taking her eye. she did t-
ake out his eye in revenge and finally earned some respect. by the time she was deemed d-
one with her training, she had already earned a place of respect with her peers and would c-
ontinue to do so as she rose through the ranks until she was a general. she lead parts of the
army in many battles and fought alongside them. she earned the nickname "stormbringer" at
this time, when it was believed that she could summon the blizzards of the north to follow h-
er into battle. when the past king died, she was one of three people who were considered to
be the next king. one of them decided against ruling and the other was a legendary general.
she battled him and that was how she won the title of king. general, naexi is seen as a powe-
rful and just leader by her people. however, it is obvious that she has some enemies, as one
night when she awoke, a masked assassin was holding a dagger to her throat. thankfully, nae-
xi was paranoid enough to keep a dagger under her pillow. now she keeps two guards outside
of her door and one outside of her locked window for good measure. these three guards and
her sister are the only people who truly know how much the assassination attempt effected
her. she will often have flashback or nightmares which she wakes up screaming and crying fr-
om. she doesn't know how much longer she will be able to keep this hidden.

however, near the end of high school, annie started to become
intrigued by the underground street racing scene that made gre-

kept top secret so the police would not find out. that was until
she found out one of her friends was secretly racing on the side.
she eventually convinced them to take her to a race. eventually,
she also convinced her friend to put a good word about her into
the other drivers and operators of the race, who eventually let
her become a flagger.
