This cat is dressed as a superhero. Pride purrades started as a protest against government crackdowns on the LGBT+ community. They are inherently anti-authority and about protest for inequality. They're dressed as a superhero to remember the heroism of the people in those first protests, so no one forgets how much people had to fight to gain the acceptance we now have. Superheroes are willing to give everything to fight for justice and the wellbeing of their communities, and they're often hated by lawmakers too, so it felt appropriate as a form of rememberance.
They also admit that the flag just looks cool and that's valid too

I used a link to an audio only version of the song I wanted to show today, because the original video, on youtube, features a (non-sexual) photo of a scultpure of a nude man (Michael Angelo's David), and a few pictures of police officers arresting peaceful protestors with undue force (there's no blood or direct violence).
