Sasuke was never one to complain. He would always do what he was told, or go where he was told to go. This was something he had been taught before he was even able to walk - "respect your elders, child." The problem was, everyone was your elder when you were so young, but yet he persisted in the belief that he was wrong and everyone older than him knew better. He would ignore the whispers that followed him wherever he went, the ones that called him cursed for being motherless, the ones that sneered and hissed in disgust because of who he was. He was mistrusted and feared because of what he was, and no one bothered to get to know him. Even those that raised him in the small orphanage at the edge of the sea seemed to be wary of him. Biases ran deep in the small fishing village Sasuke grew up in. The biases ran so deep that he swore he heard the sight of relief the entire village gave when he was packed away on a ship, sold like a dog, and prayed to be never seen again. Not that he minded though - he had no love of that fishing village.

Life on the ship wasn't so bad, even. He was fed, he was kept safe, and he liked having a room to himself. The captain seemed to take a liking to him, with kindly eyes and a soft voice so much unlike what Sasuke thought the image of a captain should be. There were many fleeting moments that Sasuke wished he could stay with this captain and one day have his own ship to sail side by side with this kind person... but the thoughts were dashed as quickly as they came. The journey was quicker than Sasuke thought, too. In no time at all, they docked at another port - though this village was much larger than the other one. The young tiefling was mesmerized by the sounds, the sights, the utter amount of people... If there was one thing that others often underestimated about Sasuke, it was his affinity for wandering.

The young tiefling left the dock not long after the ship had landed and the crew was busy unloading other items, large crates that Sasuke easily ducked underneath. He didn't see the captain again, and if he had, maybe he would have lingered near the kind man's feet, waiting to ask him questions about how he could one day have his own ship too. Instead, Sasuke wandered. He let the smell of freshly baked bread take him a few twists and turns away, the fishier smell of the port growing fainter with each step he took. It was far enough away that he would not have been able to make it back to the ship he quickly forgot about, and he found himself in front of a street merchant selling baked goods in many different shapes.

It was here that Sasuke would have his first lesson about the world outside of the orphanage - people were not kind.

"What are you doing?" A gruff voiced asked, hidden in the shadows of a nearby ally. Sasuke jumped, so mesmerized as he was by the smell of the bread. He stared over at the dragonborn that edged out of the shadows, a scar across one eye. Sasuke could say nothing in return, again mesmerized by someone who would attract just as many stares and whispers as he did. "Get out!" The dragonborn suddenly yelled, holding a rock about his head. "I have no time to engage with street beggars!"

And so Sasuke ran, so afraid of others, unsure of how he was supposed to react, he ran until his feet could no long carry him and the sounds of the city were gone, the only indication he was even near the city at all the faint glow of the lights in the distance. The night quickly grew colder around the child, the cold tendrils of the night wrapping around his small frame, making him shiver. "Help," Sasuke would whisper, closing his eyes and hugging himself tightly.

Minutes, or maybe hours, seemed to pass by with nothing but the cold breeze to keep him company. Sasuke felt tears start to prickle at the edge of his eyes, though he would never want to cry, even if he was alone. Wasn't that also what his caretakers at the orphanage said? "Don't cry, it'll make you seem weak." Sasuke had already forgotten their faces, but their voices would linger in his head for years to come with all the 'lessons' they had taught him.

The moon was on it's descent when he felt a soft tickle on his arm. He had slowly melted down into the grass, crouching until his legs grew numb and he was unsure if he would even be able to stand up again. But the tickle surprised him enough to make him jump up, his muscles aching and protesting at the sudden movement. Sasuke winced, eyes darting around to find what had touched him. He relaxed slowly, blinking in the light of what seemed to be... a fuzzball? Something he had never seen before, that was for sure. The full moon bathed the aura in a soft glow, though it was already emitting its own golden glow. It didn't say anything, but blinked a few times as if beckoning for him to follow.

And follow he did.

The aura led Sasuke into the Jade Grove, and vanished as soon as they made it to the village. Ardeki had been watching the aura return, looking curiously at the mesmerized child, eyes widening as he realized what the aura was saying. "I don't know how to take care of a kid!" Ardeki whispered indignantly, shaking his head once he realized what the auras were getting him into. "Curse you," he spat half-heartedly under his breath as he rose from his vigil to greet the young tiefling. It appeared the Enclave needed this kid, as persistent as the auras were about finding him.

Sasuke was destined for great things, that much was certain.

Spring
Spring is here! During the spring, births will be smooth and the chances of mothers and children dying will drop dramatically. As animals return to their summer ranges and plants begin to bloom, your villagers will find more food and nomads who wander through their territory. The odds of sickness begin to drop.

Music floats through the air as people celebrate the return of spring. The snow has melted, for the most part, although higher-altitude villages may find some lingering frost. Crops ought to be planted now, and wild fruits and vegetables begin to bloom.

Spring
Spring is here! During the spring, births will be smooth and the chances of mothers and children dying will drop dramatically. As animals return to their summer ranges and plants begin to bloom, your villagers will find more food and nomads who wander through their territory. The odds of sickness begin to drop.

Tomomi ends up scratched across the face while trying to escape, and will need Amari to look at him or 1 post of rest. As they flee the scene, Serafina, the fire-lizard, drops off x1 vial of medicine and flies away, the village not interesting her anymore. She will need to be bribed with x10 servings of meat if Serendipity wants her back. ]
