The dream from two nights ago had been... unusual to say the least. He had been searching for prey in the undergrowth when a voice had stopped him. βHello there,β the voice greeted jovially. Fleck jolted up to stare at him - he was one of the biggest cats heβd ever seen, and his own father was a rather big tom. βWh-Who are you?β Fleck asked shakily, before remembering his place. βThis is my territory. What do you think youβre doing here?β
This stranger was certainly no one he knew of, and he thought he knew most of the other cats who lived nearby. βIβm Leapingstar, an ancient ancestor of yours, from when our clan was still whole and mighty. I was the leader of it at one point, and have come bearing news that you must heed. Come to the broken tree that splits into a fork in two nights time and all shall be revealed,β Leapingstar said mysteriously, his star filled bushy tail sweeping out behind him.
βHold on a second here - how do I know I can trust you?β Fleck asked skeptically. Leapingstar sighed and muttered something about inquisitive kits, before further explaining himself. Sort of. βSurely I look like your father, do I not? Thunder was a descendant of mine, just as you are of him. Now, go young one, and all will be explained soon.β Just like that, Leapingstar vanished, a faint spray of stardust shimmering to the ground as he disappeared.
Ugh, how cryptic. Still, he figured he had nothing better to do and set out to the tree, ignoring the scent lines he crossed in the meantime. Fleck left around sunhigh, knowing he would have a ways to walk, and arrived at the tree just as the sun was beginning to set. Perhaps he could nap in the while waiting for those ancestors of his to show up...

He lay in a tree, high above the sand below. His soft snores did little to give away his position, though he failed to notice the rising moon above. It was an accident of course that he slept; Pearl genuinely had planned to go to that mysterious meeting, but he had dozed off...
Pearl lay in the blazing sun, basking in its heat when a shadow abruptly fell upon him. βYouβre lucky a hawk doesnβt take you,β a familiar voice spoke. He jolted to his paws and stared in bewilderment at the figure before him. βOceanβs Song? You- But how?!β Pearl gaped. His father was dead, how could he be standing before him? Of course, it was then that he noticed the starβs shimmering in his fatherβs pelt.
βI came to tell you... The stories, they were real,β Oceanβs Song said, eyes shining. βI live in Starclan now with our ancestors - the ones from the stories. Go to the broken tree and Starclan will be there to greet you. Theyβre even greater than the stories made them out to be.β
He had desperately wanted to go, but in the middle of all his excitement fell asleep and was now going to miss the meeting.
