their indiscriminate kindness can be a double-edged sword that makes it difficult to gauge
how they really feel about you. they don't mean to be fake or superficial, but as one of the
clan's healers, they try to treat everyone exactly the same, even if their personalities don't
mesh otherwise. thankfully, that's not usually too much of an issue, as basil can find things
to like about just about any cat and tries to give everyone a chance—multiple chances, at
that. maybe too many, sometimes. it's easy to take advantage of basil's friendliness; they'd
sooner die than say "no" to someone, which can lead to them taking on too much at once &
ending up extremely stressed. despite being a social cat who loves interacting with others,
basil is honestly an introvert at heart, and thus needs to recharge from time to time. they
may wander off alone at times, though they'll try to collect some herbs while they're at it.

ray: the flame that just won't go out. stubborn and hardheaded, he trudges along with just
as much determination as he had in his prime, but maybe a quarter of the physical ability
he really needs to back up his fierce drive to remain independent. he loves life in driftclan
and traveling far too much to even consider letting go and remaining behind to live out his
remaining moons in quiet peace. he's said goodbye to both mates and kits alike who chose
to find their own path, but he's never once doubted that his own place was here, with his
friends and remaining family. perhaps it's a bit of softheartedness and due to how much he
loves his clanmates. for all his showboating and complaining, ray gets lonely awfully easily.
he likes seeing the clan thrive, and knowing it'll continue after he's gone is a great comfort
to him. ray likes feeling included and telling stories, but be wary, as he often exaggerates.

in this sense, he can seem selfish. his impatience has led him to making rash decisions, throwing himsel
f or another into unnecessary trouble. he's a fine apprentice when at work, but when off duty he isn't t
he greatest feline, hardly seeming to have time for proper bonds and getting to know others, then won
ders why others aren't particularly fond of him. he's on track to become a skilled warrior, but will he b-

with his mother, hearing the stories of warriorhood. in the process, it was more or less drilled into his h
ead that he should follow in his late father's pawsteps and become a skilled, respectable warrior. eager
to train and even learned a simple move or two from warriors that came to speak with his mother, sho-
wing off to the other kits. when blaze became an apprentice it was practically all he ever talked about,
practicing at any chance he got. though he is exceeding in his training, the tom often finds himself with
hardly anyone he truly knows, but it doesn't stay on his mind for long. others will hold him back anyway.

harboring a rather quiet though awkward nature, newt might be seen as a l
oner to some, but in reality he's quiet the opposite. the warrior probably w
ouldn't be able to function without others being around him, but such a cas
e runs a bit deeper than simply being one who enjoys the company of other
s. its especially comforting for a cat like himself, who happens to be deaf.-
the tom in general is an expressive character, possessing an admirable amo
unt of intelligence and a quick wit. a sensitive and rather thoughtful chara-

the tom isn't mute, but doesn't talk very much, thus retaining a rather rough voice due to the fact he d
oesn't use it often. the tom is very much a follower, he partially has to be due to his lack of hearing. a-
humble tom, newt is a grateful soul who tends to appreciate the small things in life. it can be easy for-
things to overwhelm him, especially if there isn't another around to reassure him. he's reliant on others
which, can be taken advantage of, though he's not exactly oblivious to it. he's simply afraid of being lef
t to handle things on his own, fearing that he's not capable of such a responsibility alone. | newt was b

orn to his parents sky and bramble, though he didn't see his father very often. his kithood was normal -
for that of a deaf kit, though wasn't particularly different from that which would be deemed 'normal', e
ither. however, his mother grew ill shortly after kitting, passing away about a moon afterwards. unable-
to understand the reasoning behind it. the queens gave up trying to explain after a few times, leaving -
him clueless and feeling guilty throughout apprenticeship. it wasn't until he witnessed a death with his
own eyes, that after placing a trinket of his mother's alongside it, he understood. and then came grief.

a knowledgeable, wise and adaptable character, rosemary rain might reside
as an elder, but hardly seems old in spirit. the elder in truth is a force to b-
e reckoned with, resilient and witty, the older feline still has a few things o
ver those who happen to be younger than her. she harbors an adaptable nat
ure, one who can think outside the box with ease, a feline who can hold he
r own in a match of words and wits. the saying 'you can't teach an old dog -
new tricks' doesn't apply to her. it does mention a dog after all. she's alway

I wanted to say that the front page has now been updated. noteworthy tidbits:

• tribe caelum ranks are now full
  
• there are a handful of ignis warrior slots open (3) as well as an apprentice slot
• tribe viridis has room for one more warrior
• tribe rivulus has room for two more apprentices
• there are elder slots open in every tribe; they aren't currently capped, but will probably be at 2-3 per tribe. I will close the elder ranks with what we have before we begin the rp
• if you're interested in playing a kit, both the ignis queen and the viridis queen will have them (the rivulus queen is expecting)
• I will no longer accept additional names containing "at dusk" or "at dawn"
  
  tribe numbers are pretty rigid and I will not be granting any requests to add in any more cats beyond the caps; this is to ensure that the tribes are properly populated. if all tribes are filled (minus elders) I may add additional slots depending on how many more people would be interested in joining!
