||Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Ma's Diner|Tags: Quest Group|

Mirabelle absently listened to the other demigods chatter amongst themselves as she twirled a fork through her salad. Her appetite had returned some when she had taken her first bites, which was a small relief given everything on her mind. A quick glance out one of the large windows told her that the snow hadn't let up any since they had entered the diner. We should really hurry up... I don't want Ash and the pegasi to freeze to death out there. Besides that, it was getting late. It had taken much more time than she had thought it would to get even close to Laurel's aunt's house, and it wouldn't do to have the pegasi flying home alone in the dark. As she nursed her hot chocolate and nibbled a leaf of lettuce, the tall blonde retrieved the folded-up road map from her coat pocket. Following their pink highlighter-outlined route, she could see that their destination was only a few blocks away. That's reassuring at least. The thought of getting into a car wasn't, but she would cross that bridge when she came to it. If worst comes to worst, I can take some Dramamine. I'll be pretty out-of-it, but that's probably better than getting carsick... right? Being woozy would not suffice if - no, when they were attacked by monsters, though. If there was anything Mirabelle had learned from past quests, it was to always be on guard. That, and that monsters could attack at any time, in any location. Just the thought of it made the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. She cast a cautious look around the diner, scanning for any unusual activity just in case. Unless coffee-lady staring at them with a grumpy expression on her face counted, they were in the clear as far as she could tell. Let's hope that lasts.

||Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Cabin Seven|Tags: Lucy; Cabin Seven Crowd|

Before Juliet even knew what was happening, she was being swept up into a bridal carry. "Normally I'd say you gotta walk down the isle and do the hora to Hava Nagila before we get to this point, but I don't think those ghosts and skeletons would make a very lively wedding party." Even cold and out-of-it as she was, the jokes never stopped.
When they reached the Apollo cabin, Juliet found herself unceremoniously dumped into a chair and left to deal with some Apollo kid whose name she couldn't remember asking her all sorts of annoying questions about her injuries. Were they injuries? There was no blood. That didn't change the fact that everything still hurt like hell. Someone started playing a string instrument, though Juliet couldn't see who through the throng of moving bodies. "Play Free Bird!" she yelled above the din, a tired smirk tugging at her lips.

||Kathryn Blackwood|17|She/Her|Hecate|Location: Cabin 7 |Tags: Aoife|

"Wowww this place is booming," Kathryn noticed aloud in her exhausted daze. "They should really charge for services. Could make a killing." A loopy laugh bubbled from her chest, though quickly faded as her brain caught up with her mouth. Oops. Maybe 'killing' isn't a good choice of words. At least no one was dying... that she could tell. She allowed herself to be helped onto an empty bed. 'Allowed' was a bit of an exaggeration; she could barely even move. I really owe Emmie one... and Aoife, I suppose.
The sweet melody of Lucy's violin was like nectar on the air. She could feel some of her strength returning as the lilting strings soared above the din. Berceuse, Op. 16. Gabriel Fauré. It was a perfect choice. The gentle air of the piece would help to put everyone at ease, even without Lucy's musical healing abilities. If only I had the strength for accompaniment. Then we could really put on a show. Someone was yelling at her to play Free Bird - Juliet, if she had to guess. Uncultured slob.

||Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Canoe Lake|Tags: Hannah|

Chuck nodded in accord with Hannah's plan, giving a big thumbs-up in support. He couldn't help but feel a bit awkward, standing in the snow amidst all the lake nymphs. "I uh... can't like, turn into water but I could like, try to help restrain the windy dudes with like plants and stuff if that helps?" he offered with a sheepish grin. "I'm like, totally tuckered out but I think I can like, play a little longer. Uh, if you need me, that is." The satyr shuffled a hoof in the snow, suddenly very self-conscious. "Or I could like, go help the Apollo dudes in cabin seven? There looked like there were, like, a lot of hurt dudes and stuff, you know?" The venti seemed to be slowly backing off, anyways. No longer bolstered by their undead compatriots, the blizzard spirits appeared disheartened and wary. Some had even fled up into the clouds, which Chuck noted were no longer dumping snow with as much ferocity as they had been only moments ago. Huh. Maybe like, this is finally over. But maybe that was just wishful thinking. Who knows? The venti could have a whole second wave, lurking in the clouds just waiting to strike... the thought sent a shudder sliding down his spine. But like, most monsters aren't that smart... right?

||Zahra Al-Amin|217/Looks 32|She/They|Magician; Eye of Sekhmet|Location: Cabin 8|Tags: Laika|

Zahra took a seat where the woman had indicated, offering her a grateful smile. "I don't have much time, but I will share what I know." She could feel Sekhmet's influence inside of them; itching to plunge herself back into combat. Their Nome needed her. The Magicians needed her. They would have to make this brief.
"What I know is that an ancient force of Isfet - chaos - has awakened, and is set on destroying everything," Zahra explained. "Or... no, 'destroying' isn't the right word..." Silence enveloped them momentarily as she wracked her brain. "Eat! Yes, eat. No, absorb. Yes, that is correct." The thought crossed their mind that she should potentially be more careful with their information. But the woman - the lioness - had been helpful to her, in her own brusque way. And Chiron seemed to trust her... yes, perhaps it was okay. "They are called the Ogdoad. Eight gods of chaos, eight who had long been sleeping. I do not know what awakened them, nor why they are so angry. What I do know is that they have churned the Sea of Chaos into a frenzy. It is... expanding, I believe." They paused a moment to let it all sink in. "The Nomes have been getting attacked by demons consistently over the past week. I believe these to be connected to the Ogdoad and the Sea of Chaos; Isfet is growing in power. There have also been reports of something else, a... shadow? A creature, killing with a signature. Like a serial killer, but something not mortal. I have heard it is responsible for the slaughter of the Hundredth Nome... my heart is saddened by this news." Zahra's face was an open book; it was no surprise when pain and grief flashed across her graceful features. "I do not think any of these events are unrelated. Now, there is snow during summer, and I have heard a goddess may be involved. A politician exposing the Roman camp. It is too much a coincidence to be just that. There is a connection somewhere, but what?"

||Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Centralia, PA|Tags: Nicholas, Orin, Astoria|

Will that insufferable son of Zeus ever cease his mindless chatter? Vivienne had to fight back the urge to roll her eyes again. He simply prattles on and on... an endless stream of babble. Has he ever even heard of the term 'peace and quiet'!? Still, some of what he said could potentially be used in the future... she filed that information away for later. I am fatigued, frustrated, and thoroughly ashamed that I have shown such... such... emotion in the presence of a sworn enemy. Can we please leave now? She cast an almost pleading look at Nicholas, urging him to wrap things up. I just want to go home. Home. No, she couldn't go home. Because Khione was there, and if Vivienne returned to Khione having failed... A momentary grimace shaped her sharp features. I cannot return to her a failure. But where else can I go? Is it better to suffer the consequences? In her mind's eye, she could already see the goddess's face blazing with fury. That male carrying the gun should have just sent me down to Hades. At least he would be more forgiving than mother. The boy would have, had Nicholas not saved her at the last minute. But why didn't the girl of smoke and flame? That - that Jude.
"i'm sorry that you lost her. i'm sorry that you're hurting, i am, i'm so -"
NO! Get out, get out of my head!
"i'm so sorry, vivienne."

Her voice was like a plague; infesting Vivienne's thoughts and accosting her ears from the sea of recent memory.
"i don't want to fight you, but i can't -"
Get out, get out, GET OUT!

The temperature around Vivienne plummeted. Without a word, she briskly stalked past the chattering fools in the direction of the exit. She didn't know where she was going. She didn't even know where she was. But she didn't care. In that moment, all that mattered was getting out, getting away from the people in that room, and most of all, getting away from her own mind.

Cassandra Peters|19|Hermes|Head Counselor|Demi-bisexual|Loc:Athena Cabin|Tags/Mentions:Nathan,Edgar,venti npc,Open
"Don't worry about I'm sure plenty of other people would have done the same" Cass responded to Nathan with a rather tired grin. "I mean" Cass paused while still leaning against the cabin her eyes closed taking deep breaths, "I've had better days" Cass murmured, her internal dialogue mostly consisted of "Ows" at the moment along with several statements that one probably shouldn't say in the presence of children. Cass gently ran a hand through her hair, her beanie had fallen off and was most likely trampled. "Damn, that one was one of my favorites too" Cass thought absentmindedly to herself flinching when she felt a flash of pain when her arm moved. Cass was about to protest Nathan's suggestion but she knew she couldn't really do much to help others out at the moment even if she wanted to. Heck, she could barely keep herself upright at the moment and her legs were being rather good at reminding her of this fact. Cass decided to leave Nathan to exploring the Athena cabin "I'm sure that so long as you don't touch their notes and or books you'll probably be fine" Cass called out to Nathan while she rested her head against the structure. It seemed that thing had calmed down anyways the skeletons didn't seem to be shooting anymore which was a bit weird but then again Cass' life, in general, was weird so she wasn't going to question it.
In her exhausted state Cass failed to notice a venti making its way towards her. Once she did notice Cass let out a curse and tried to run but only succeeded in slipping and falling backward. Cass tried to get up but her legs felt like they were just in a train crash and she could only move backward as the venti continued towards her. Remembering her daggers Cass transformed one of them and was about to swing it at the monster but she was too slow and the monster grabbed her forearm first. Cass let out a loud yell in pain as she felt her skin start to burn from the cold. Feeling tears come to her eyes as Cass stared down at the humanoid ice shape she was about to try and hit it with her other dagger. When suddenly out of nowhere a black feathery shadow swooped in and started to beat on the venti mercilessly squawking and pecking at it. The venti rather startled by this onslaught flew off and the shadow chased after it for a bit before turning and flying back to Cass. Who was currently cradling her burned arm taking deep breaths and trying to ignore how much pain her body was currently in. Luckily Cass' coat had protected her but the burn would still need to be treated, "At least this helps distract me from my limbs cramping" Cass thought. Edgar landed on her shoulder and let out some crooning noises and began to nuzzle her gently with his beak. "Hey, bud thank you" She murmured leaning her head gently on Edgar as he continued to try and comfort her, which Cass greatly appreciated from her feathered friend.

Jack gave Astra a big smile as she offered to help him " Thank you" Jack responded brightly "Don't worry about it any weapon will help if need be". Although they weren't in the best of circumstances at the moment thinking about how horrible everything wasn't going to fix anything. A few of the younger campers had gathered around Jack and were hugging his legs to which Jack responded by gently rubbing their back to reassure them. It saddened him greatly that these children had to deal with this while they were so young. Which only fueled his determination to keep them safe. "Not really" Jack responded rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. Sure there were monsters in the woods nearby but they usually kept to themselves and didn't attack unless they were antagonized. "I don't think that we've been formally introduced I'm Jack" He said smiling at the other camper holding out his hand for a handshake. Jack was hoping that even though the camp was being attacked he could at the very least make a new friend.

Whiskey(npc)|10|Cat|Old lady(derogatory)|belongs to Jack|Cabins area|Tags/mentions:Skeletbois,open
Whiskey was trying to sleep through the onslaught of the battle that was currently raging outside but due to all the sounds of fighting that plan was currently skewed. Letting out a grumpy "mErr" As she got up and stretched. Whiskey looked around for some way to leave the cabin since she was rather curious as to what all that blasted racket was outside. Jumping up to her favorite window ledge she began to scratch at it and was able to crack it open enough where she could slip underneath and out into the cold. Almost immediately Whiskey regretted this decision and let out an angry yowl as she landed in snow not enjoying the feeling of it in the slightest. She still continued to see what was going on and noticed a group of skeletons nearby seeming to be talking amongst themselves rather panicked. Whiskey didn't really care at all but figured that she might as well make use of them and walked over to one of them a stretched up against its lower leg before using it as a scratching post. The skeleton let out a yell and began trying to shake her off but Whiskey only gripped harder and began to let out a series of low growls as she was shaken about, definitely not happy about the new situation. Eventually, the skeleton stopped shaking her and reached down to try and pry her off with its actual bare hands. Whiskey still mad about the shaking bit into the skeleton's tibia and ripping it out before trotting away, her prize secured in her jaws. the skeleton immediately tried to grab her but Whiskey dropped the bone smacked the skeleton's hand and let out a long hiss and growl while her hair stood on end making her look like the world's angriest dust bunny. The skeleton flinched back which Whiskey took the time to grab the bone and trotted off leaving behind the confused skeleton and began to look for her owner.

'Too careful to die.' Is that a joke? Ophelia raised an eyebrow incredulously. Okay, whatever you say, icebox. "Yeah, later," She stressed the word, as if wanting to say 'never'.

She lifted her gaze to look toward the undead that she'd been avoiding looking at. They were in shambles, wailing and looking upon their undead hands in horror and and sobbing. "Smithy?" A ghoul looked around frantically, running his hands through nonexistent hair. "SMITH!" He roared, his voice breaking, and the ghost crumpled with it. With a start, Ophelia realized he was crying. Er, he would have been, if he could've formed tears. "Smithy, we didn't-we're, we're not...not going home..." The words poured out, more a stream of consciousness than true thought. The ghost looked stricken as he came to realize them, and Ophelia felt the unwelcome tingling at the back of her head. She turned away from the scene, tugging Aydan by the sleeve. She didn't need amokinesis to make her heart ache for the poor man, ripped from his time. Though she would've had more remorse if he hadn't been trying to get them to join the undead ranks moments before.

They met the back of the line of broken campers, and Ophelia took to glaring at the head of tousled curls in front of them. When she spoke, her voice echoed from far away. "They're..." Reliving the worst moments of their lives. "Remembering what came before they were... Untimely deceased." She tapped a foot as she waited on the line to shift. Was that enough of an explaination? "There must've been a spell, preventing them from recalling, but it broke," and they broke with it. She let go of Aydan's sleeve and pressed the palm that wasn't pressed against him to her forehead.

17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: Outside | tags: Auggie, Chad | mentions:

"Ice queen," Reese bristled at the disrespect toward his sister. "It would not do to refer to my sister so impolitely," He growled at the newcomer, rolling his shoulders back to hold up his full six-three frame.

Luckily for the new camper, he was soon distracted by said sister, who had taken the direct approach. Erring on too direct, if you asked Reese. Auggie had not. Dammit, if anyone has a deathwish, it's her! Freeing the skeleton he was holding to, Reese traced after her with his eyes, following the path of squabbling foes and knocked aside skeletons. He sucked in his breath when she reached the fleece, very nearly getting run through in the process.

He breathed out when she defeated it, taking hold of the glorified skein, but his relief was short lived. A gunshot rang out, close enough to rattle his bones. "Oh Styx!" He hissed through his teeth. With more energy than he had had just a moment prior, Reese boltes forward, ripping apart skeletons with his powers as he went, and using their scattered remains to form a rushed barricade around Auggie. He had eyes for nothing else, cutting across the snow as if he himself had been the one shot. A ventus stood in his way, shifting from foot to foot eagerly awaiting feasting upon him. He brushed it aside-or rather, the earth that came rumbling up like lava under his fingertips did. He did not bother with looking, but the distant thump told him that it had been taken care of.

Shoving through, he parted the impromptu wall around Auggie and entered. "Are you-" He cut himself off before he could finish that thought. His chest heaved riotiously. She was clearly in pain, and not "*alright*" as he had been poised to ask. "What hurts? I can avoid touching an injured limb, but we need to get out of here." Urgency ached to creep into his tone. A shot boomed out, and Reese ripped up a wall of rock to protect them, only serving to drive home his point.

She turned around when she heard a voice. Did someone say something? Riley recognized the head counselor as soon as she met her eyes. I look like a mess, apparently. She wasn't too surprised. "Oh gee, I would have never guessed," she smirked, a hint of sarcasm in her words. She tried to wave with her right hand but immediately winced at the pain. Left hand. Left is good. Right is bad. "Val, is it? I'm really never a mess, but today's not my best day," the daughter of Zeus admitted. I don't usually lose my half-brother and get into a battle with skeletons right after. "You missed all the action. That's too bad," she noted. That reminded her; she still had to find out what happened, and how to make sure they wouldn't suddenly jumpscare her. "Hey, you don't, by any chance, know what happened to this guy?" Riley gestured at the skeleton laying on the ground, still in complete horror of themself. "Reopened one of my scars." Mentioning the wound did not help the pain. Where was nectar and ambrosia when you need them? The infirmary! No, uh, it got murdered, nevermind. Cabin 7? Eh, it's only bleeding a little. It's nothing. Riley went back on track. "Now he's lying here in the snow. What a shame. Could have had a chance to dissolve by yours truly." After an unnecessary little hair flip, the demigod added, "Besides, your dad is Mr. D, the god of insanity. This sure is insanity right now." That was an understatement, but it wasn't important. Confessing that she couldn't understand something was not her favorite thing. However in this case, what other choice was there? To hide? Riley wasn't a coward. She could do this.

The thumbs up had slightly helped her. Just slightly, unfortunately. She looked around at the remaining monsters, trying to see if they could keep up a fight with them. The venti no longer seemed uncomfortable fighting anymore without their companions. "You've done enough," Hannah reassured him, not wanting the satyr to overwork himself. Exhaustion was a big deal. "No need to restrain them from the looks of it. Guess we have to prepare for everything though." An idea popped up. "The nymphs can watch the venti to make sure that they leave fully, if that's fine with them." They nodded enthusiastically. The monsters looked like they were going to fly away anyways. But if they tried anything, naiads could be terrifying when necessary. "Knowing how viciously they fought, I bet Cabin Seven is packed as hell. They'll need all the assistance they can get," she stated the obvious. "Especially if those 'Apollo dudes' are hurt themselves." She thought for a moment, thinking whether or not she would join him or her fellow nymphs. "I don't want to crowd the place even more but I could go with you," Hannah offered. "Not much of a healer though." She eyed the sky as she finished her sentence. Less snow is falling, she wanted to smile but with what was happening around her, it wasn't going to happen just yet. I feel like my hands are gonna fall off. I should have gotten mittens. Her grip on her bow tightened, ignoring the desire to shoot arrows at the venti still around camp.

He gave her a faint smile, although it had faded once he noticed that she could barely move her arm. "Thanks for the tip," he said, quickly trying to find something of use as he went exploring. Nectar and ambrosia. Where could they be? There! Catching an average-looking gray backpack with his eyes, Nathan scurried over to search inside. The guilt had increased as he frantically looked through the bag, but he tried his best to brush it off. It's for Cass. I know that privacy is important but- His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a blood-curdling scream. His worried face had became even more worried, along with a hint of terror in his eyes. That's Cass, he recognized her voice, which didn't make him feel any better. Sprinting over to where he had left the head counselor, he immediately halted once he had seen Edgar, her crow. Shaking his head to make himself less surprised, Nathaniel hurried to her side with the backpack's straps now around his shoulders.

"What happened?" he stammered. "Why'd you yell? What's Edgar doing here? Are you okay?" he blurted out. Reminding himself that the questions would be annoying, he took a deep breath instead. "Sorry about that. I, uh, found this." He gestured at the backpack. "I don't know who it belongs to, but..." Nathan pulled off the object, dropped it onto the ground, then proceeded to grab things out rapidly. Finally he felt the material of a plastic baggie. Please be ambrosia. Please be ambrosia. He brought out a plastic bag with ambrosia cubes inside and the gratefulness he had was immeasurable. "Can you move your arm?" he asked. It sounded stupid when he said it out loud, but at least it was reasonable. "I'll, er, just feed you some if you can't."

Emerson was about to follow the two girls when an older guy told the campers who weren't injured to leave the cabin. If only that included mental injuries she sighed. "Guess that's my cue to leave." she said to no one in particular with a smile that was full of exhaustion. She made her way out of the cabin and to the campfire. The skeletons were no longer fighting which was good but their expressions made her heart ache.

She took a seat indian style in the snow, not caring at the moment how cold it was. She could finally deal with everything now that the commotion had slowed down a bit. She wiggled her fingers, watching the sparks tickle at her fingertips. A steady flow of tears came running down her cheeks. Scream it out little one a deep voice echoed in her head. She could recognize that voice anywhere, her electricity stopped and she sat shocked momentarily, she did as he said and let out a scream. The scream was followed by a crack of lightning hitting down who knows where. Everything she had been holding in till this moment was finally catching up to her. She let out a second scream that was thankfully covered by the booming of thunder. The tears were coming down harder and she couldn't get them to stop.

"Don't start pickin' a fight y' can't win, boy." Aydan heard a rough voice say behind him. He could only assume it was the voice of Jude's brother. "Wasn't looking for a fight, more an explanation. Remember, I'm the one that saved your sister from getting spiked." he said without turning around. It was true, a fight wasn't what he was aiming for. He wanted to talk to see if even fighting the guy was worth it. They didn't need to make enemies out of each other when they clearly had enough outside of the camp.

The tone in Ophelia's voice made it clear she wouldn't let that happen if she had anything to do with it. He inhaled sharply as she explained what was happening. He could only imagine how they were feeling. Was there any way to help them? Probably not. Why did he care so much for others all the sudden? He shook his head, auburn curls shaking with the movement. "I wonder who had the power to control them all"the statement was rhetorical and didn't need an answer, just said out of curiosity.

Her other hand had finally let his arm go. He heard other campers voices around them "Wanna go to my cabin to get away from them all after I get checked out?"he whispered in her ear so none of the campers heard their business. The suggestion was just as much for his sake as it was for hers. The high emotions would probably get to her soon and he had enough of people for the day. He pulled back as he heard a voice announce that anyone who wasn't hurt had to wait outside. He wondered if that included Ophelia who was helping him walk. "I can't see or walk very well right now. Can something be done about that so I can get out of your guys' hair and to my cabin to rest?" he asked. Though rest wasn't on his agenda for when he went to his cabin, he had to have that talk with Ophelia before he chickened out. Knots formed deep in his stomach that he attempted to ignore. He waited for anyone who was manning the makeshift infirmary to reply.

Mateo grinned "You know me, always up for a fight." He gripped her hand and pulled her up. He looked forward and started taking a few steps before looking to Robyn as she made her comment to rush him. "No seas tan agresiva" he shook his head. If someone didn't know him they'd assume he didn't like the daughter of Aphrodite with his choice of words and actions. He viewed Robyn as a little sister and even if his words seemed annoyed or mad he'd never let anyone hurt a single hair on the girls head, if they did they'd have to deal with him as their consequence. He noticed a figure approaching them, he moved Robyn behind him once more and readied his axe.

The figure came into better view and Mateo recognized that it was Collin approaching them and not a threat. His muscles relaxed "You two alright? Arrived at a bit of an awkward time if I'm being honest." "El es una verdadera Sherlock no es el?" he whispered to Robyn with a smirk. "Yeah" he chuckled "We are fine, What in the gods is going on here?" he asked the dark haired boy gesturing his axe around them while still keeping a firm hold of Robyn with his other hand to keep her close by.

"As you should!" Zeke said, dipping his head and throwing in a quick dab, for good measure. Finally, the boy sees reason! Hamish's moment of clarity didn-t last long. Zeke couldn't help but be disappointed, even if they were in an active battle. Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe. He shrugged to himself.

At Hamish's next comment, Zeke tried not to deflate. Welcome to the rest of your life, kiddo! Learned you're unwanted godspawn? It only goes up from there! "Whatever helps you sleep at night." He said playfully, knocking an elbow gently across Hamish's ribs. A test, but not much of one, to gauge the extent of injury. Adrenaline had a lovely habit of dropping into shock, if you liked having people collapse on you. "Just a smidge!" He snapped playfully at Hamish's comment.

His good humor was cut off by the blonde boy's unsteady slump. He fought to keep the concern from showing on his face, as scaring the experienced person by your injuries does not tend to be conclusive to remaining calm, believe it or not. He offered a warm smile to Hamish, adding a flounce to his usually groundcovering strides. "It's a Me trait! Chock full of ideas, I am!" He puffed out his chest with a dramatic air. No thanks to you, daddy-o.

In spite of his theatrics, Zeke was not feeling as confident as he acted. There was a chance the kid had gotten seriously knocked up out their, his own fault or nah, and the ever present threat of fatigue made a chilling companion. While Zeke may move faster than light on his own, his stocky body was built for speed, not lugging others. "Made it," He said flatly of his blade, his gaze caught on cabin seven, a thick trail of campers already limping their way to the makeshift infirmary. Can't beat the crowds, he mused. They met the hind end of the line, and he settled enough to fill Hamish in.

"There's an armory that'll do for now. You can work your own with some help from the mechanic kids," He looked over Hamish thoughtfully. "A warning though, they tend to be real particular about their tools," He scrunched up his nose. Too particular, really. "An' some have fire powers. Not a great combo." He looked off stoicly into the middle distance, trying not to itch the scar on the back of his hand.

    The head counselor was taking deep breaths when suddenly her deep eyes landed on the other campers inside of the cabin, a soft yelp leaving her lips and her hands moving into fists as she squared up to what she assumed were enemies. When she realized it was just familiar faces, she took a deep breath before shaking her head. "Sorry, everything's just too hectic to be calm." The girl slid down the wall until she was sitting down, pulling her knees to her chest. Her fingers nervously pushed together before pulling apart, little strands of rainbow interconnecting them.

    At his sudden blurt about her appearance, she scoffed. "Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself," she retorted bittersweetly. Her fingers moved to puff up her hair, before she nodded, visibly relaxing as Cain scooted closer. "Yeah, I'm okay. It's just kind of scary. But, nothing I haven't seen before. Or at least nothing scarier than what I've seen before." A dry laugh left her lips. Both the actual fighting and just the sounds of him were making her visibly uncomfortable, the teenager not really enjoying physical altercation at all, hence why she was currently cowering inside of a cabin instead of helping her fellow campers during the fight outside.

ivi campfire.

    felix was not doing very well. he was used to the debacles of an emergency room - had thrived in it, once, especially given that it was an easy place to diagnose those who had come in with bizarre symptoms. once, he had been revered in the emergency room. they had loved him in the emergency room. but all of these campers, bar a few - a blessed few - were nursing injuries that he simply couldn't treat. they didn't exist. the calming technique appeared to work, his breath stuttering for a moment, and then it was out, the tranquility of a beach pictured in his mind's eye. "right. yes. i'll do that. thank you. thank you," he had brought his case of meds solely for this purpose.
    well, not for this purpose. he hadn't anticipated this. there were no probabilities that he could have checked to predict something such as this. but it still worked. and so, he got to work.

    maybe it was exhaustion, maybe it was the cold, but jude was really struggling with keeping a placid aura when the accusation rang from the son of khione. aydan. she vaguely recalled that.
    "remember, i'm the one that saved your sister from getting spiked."
    she was not going to get angry. the last thing that the camp needed was more negativity. it was the last thing they needed. it wasn't necessary. jude wasn't going to raise to it. she simply wouldn't allow - "nearly freezing me to death in the process. thank you so much for that, by the way," nevermind. "don't ever reduce me to just someone's sister again. i have a name. i'd appreciate you using it if you're going to try and use me as leverage."
    it could have been worse. she was raised by a son of ares.

    the cabin was packed, but the mass of bodies created a new kind of heat that was somewhat appreciated. the noise less so, the sight of friends lying still on beds worse - she bit the inside of her cheek, watching as an almost passive observer as will argued his case to the stranger, allowing her hand to be taken, checked.
    she wanted will to stay. she really did. there was something overtly frightening about the room filled with an aura of pain, and without the heat source that was her brother, jude would be stranded. but the fight was gone, replaced by a subtle hum of fear that settled deep in her chest. "i'll be alright," she reassured, uncertain whether or not she was lying. "i'll be okay."

    "must be stressful for you," her words directed at ryan, though unsure of who the man truly was. "i'm sorry. if it's difficult."

I met a girl who makes me feel seasick

Stiff. The whole situation was getting brittle, sharp as the frigid air around them. Explanation? Is the fact that we're in a line of hacked apart campers not hitting him? Oh gods, the tension was ramping up, and Ophelia had enough of that to deal with in her own cabin, much less out here too. The door swung shut, effectively cutting the girl off, at least for now. That didn't stop the hand that was digging into Aydan's arm as her head ran away with her. We're gonna get creamed. The lot of us. Because golden boy couldn't keep it to himself. I'll be stuck in the infirmary, for no reason, and I'll fail Mira and my siblings, and- She breathed out sharply, and they were already being dragged inside

At the statement, Ophelia clutched closer to Aydan's side, holding up her skinned palm by way of greeting. "Can I get a band aid?" I'm not in the mood to burn from the inside out today, thanks. She asked, loosening her hold on Aydan when an Apollo camper took his free side and tapped her arm away gently. She gulped, but let them do as they would. "I, " would love to warm up in your cabin after this, preferably with all the blankets it has to offer and a sinfully massive mug of hot cocoa. "I need to check on my siblings. Meet after?" It was stupid to ask, he'd just offered after all! But her nerves were already too frayed. It was lucky she'd asked at all, and not cut him off with an excuse about being head counselor. Temporarily.

Ophelia watched the Apollo kid flit about. Since they were clearly strung out, she held off from trying to converse. Talking about the weather was unlikely to take her mind off things in their current predicament anyway. They picked up a clear bottle of something she couldn't read the label of, then took her hand roughly. Don't snatch it back, don't snatch it back, breathe! She coaxed herself, fighting the flinch when the liquid licked her skin, leaving a burning sensation in it's wake. Count to one hundred and think of-no, not that! Sugar cookies, puppies, Spicy's face after a good grooming, butterscotch? No, butterscotch is gross. Hamsters or bubblegum or- "Alright, you're all done, though perhaps we should do a head check? You are looking a little pale." The Apollo camper cocked his head, looking into her eyes like he couldn't wait to find ways to prod them. Yeah, hard pass son of a gun!

"Erm, I'm fine! No need to hold up the line, " She stumbled over her words, but managed to catch herself and offer a strained smile to the hawk-like camper. She quickly navigated through the packed cabin, nursing the start of a headache as feelings just had to run high. There was reason she avoided infirmaries, one that she recalled quite clearly at the moment. Pressing open the door, she sighed as her escape led her into the claws of another enemy, this one with billowing winds. Settling into her jacket, she braved the ice to travel to her cabin.

"Oh," Hank was unsure of what to say to that. Archery had always been a release to him, a safe space in a wild world. To not do it for fun? Preposterous! The entire sport just, felt right, washing him with a calmness that he rarely felt without bow in hand. Elfie quieted, allowing ample time for him to ponder this, this wrongness. He continued shooting, but his head was in the clouds.

What's the play here? Comfort, I suppose... "You don't have to be good at something to enjoy it. Take me and knives." He spoke up, mouth ahead of mind, as per usual. He scrambled for what to say next. "If I weren't a son of Apollo, there's a good chance one of those cuts would've put me in the ground by now," Hank squinted. Wait a minute...does that mean... unused to being confronted with his own fragile mortality, he cut off from shooting for a moment.

A dampness on his knee broke him from his thoughts. Having gained his attention, Izzy stopped licking him and turned to raise a paw at an oncoming...horse? No, storm spirit, He corrected himself, knocking an arrow. "Thanks for having my tail, Izzy lady," He told her, voice swelling with pride, before taking the venti out.

Freezing her to death in the process? That wasn't his intention. He didn't couldn't think of the best way to explain to her he was just trying to protect her, not harm her. Once again his abilities resulted in an outcome he didn't want. Was this what it meant to be a child of Khione? Unwanted outcomes from his powers? You need to say something, you've been quiet for too long. He didn't know what to say so he decided to settle on only a few words."I'm sorry Jude" they were all he could think to say, he wanted to say something sharp back in his defense but she wasn't who he wanted to argue with either. A ball twisted in his stomach as a realization hit him. It was Vivienne who he wanted to confront. Wanted the argument with. She's the one that was trying to hurt the camp, she was the one that lied to him, and who knew what else she was planning on to hurt him and his fellow campers.

A band aid? For what? he didn't have time to ask as someone new took hold of him in place of Ophelia."Of course, you can come whenever you need to." he said with a smile although the knots in his stomach increased. Now he'd have to wait in anticipation. "My name is Finnick or Finn. Can you tell me what's wrong?" the music like voice came from Aydan's left. "Where should I start? I can't see and have a gash across my back." the statement came out more bitter than he had meant it. The Apollo boy only chuckled as they came to a stop."Can I?" Finn asked before lifting Aydan's shirt anyway. "Yeah sure, go ahead." he mumbled.

Finn didn't say a word but sat Aydan down and rummaged through supplies. "Ah, here, eat this." "Wha-""Just eat it!" the boy said shoving a small piece of something in Aydan's mouth. He could've sworn he heard Finn say something about him being stubborn but Aydan was too focused on the taste that had burst in his mouth. "Strawberry pancakes?" Finn laughed, the noise was like a drum "At least it's that." Aydan wasn't sure what he meant by the statement but didn't care as the burning pain in his back started to go away. "I'm going to lift your shirt up to dress the wound. I'll give you some dressings to change out of the old ones after." Finn said before lifting Aydan's shirt. Finn put a gauze pad on his wound directly then wrapped the dressings around his abdomen a few times. The son of Apollo grabbed Aydan's hand and placed a new roll of dressings in it. "Now for your vision." A pause that seemed to go on for ages. "Ah ha!" An epiphany came over Finn as he snapped and went to rummage around once more. "Try these on" he said placing a new pair of glasses on Aydan's face gently.

Everything became clear again, though Aydan immediately wished it hadn't. He looked around seeing at least fifteen campers cramped into cabin seven. "I- it's better now. Thank you." he said finally turning to the boy who had helped him. Finn had sun kissed skin, even in this summer winter, with freckles skewed across his nose and under his eyes and wavy blonde hair just reaches the middle of his ears. "No problem, change your dressings daily and no offense but I really hope I don't see you again in here in the next 48 hours." the boy said with a smile and wink.

Aydan nodded and turned to leave "Oh wait, before you leave, catch." Finn said throwing Aydan a baggy. "Only take a small amount when the pain is unbearable." he said with a wave after Aydan had caught the bag. Aydan inspected the cubes before shoving them in his hoodie and heading out the cabin door into the cold. He made his way to his cabin, avoiding eye contact with people and monsters a like. It had been a long day and he wanted nothing more than to rest. But, that wasn't going to happen soon. He had to wait for Ophelia to drop by. He made it to his cabin, opened the door and plopped down on his bed. He wondered if Hank and Astra were all ok. He hadn't seen either of them at cabin seven amongst the wounded thankfully.
