Abigail's loop starts on a day that's just like any other, the morning sun shines in her eyes and wakes
her up. Breakfast is usually her responsibility as her father often sleeps deeply and well into the
afternoon. On her own, she walks into town enjoying the gentle breeze and greeting her neighbours
before making her way to Carl's Goods. The storefront windows displaying a range of useful if not
ordinary items. The people that come into her shop are met with a smiling face as she pieces
together exactly. Abby prides herself on her ability to distinguish exactly what a patron wants and
makes a game out of it for herself asking everything except the obvious "What are you looking for?"
On her way back Abigail will stop by the old church just to catch the slightest glimpse of the far off
mountains beyond the badlands.
She didn't quite know when she began to have this sense of deja vu but it's taken over her entire
world. Every word and every gesture is the same as the day before, even her friends and family all
live like clockwork. Perhaps the worst though are the dreams of another reality, a reality of cold
white rooms and unfamiliar machinery that feel too real to just be dreams. Is she the woman of her
dreams? Abby is feeling lost as she questions exactly who she is and whether she is in control of her
own life and if she doesn't, then who does?

The only sound in the room was her father's quiet sobs as Abigail watched the still form on the bed, a cruel hope,
but perhaps if she kept watch she'd see a small flinch or something that would let her know that her mother was
still there. Though she could feel time pass she couldn't bring herself to move, the moment she did the illusion of
stillness would be broken. It wasn't until the first rays of light began to shine through the curtains that Abby dared
to approach the slumped shape by the bed. As gently as she could Abigail placed a hand on her fathers shoulder
causing the man to jump. Squeezing his shoulder Abigail knew that the moment she left he would be alone and so
she stayed, giving her father what comfort she could. The pair stayed like that for a long time allowing the quiet
to envelop them.
"You won't leave me, will you darlin'?"
"of course not pa."

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ goes by: Most people just call him Victor, but he'll answer to Vic. Kids in school used to call him
Quesadilla, which he tolerated back then, but absolutely loathes now. He isn't even Mexican. His
family is from Argentina.
age: 28
gender: male (cis)
sexuality: prolly bi or something, idk
role: guest, the technician
appearance: Victor is perhaps the most non-threatening person in Behavior. Standing at only
5'6", he's shorter than most of the other guys in his department, and despite being 28, he has a
soft face that makes him look much younger, despite his attempts to age himself up by growing out
his facial hair. He keeps his hair long, though when he's working it's usually tied back in a ponytail.
Though since venturing into the park, he's let it loose. There's no rules out here, after all, and if
he's being honest, the wild west get-up just looks better with his hair down. He's already going to
have enough problems with people not taking him seriously out there; at least he can look good.
personality:
curious, empathetic
introspective, emotional
obsessive, socially awkward
Victor is a fundamentally gentle person. Hurting other people just isn't in his programming, so to
speak. He's a creator and an investigator, for better or for worse. While his innate curiosity has
lead him to make significant advances in the field of programming and robotics, this same need to
search for answers often leads him into self-defeating, obsessive spirals. The human mind, in
particular, is a subject of fascination for him, and he often finds himself pondering the borders that
lie between being a person and being an animal or an object. What makes people people? Where
do our personalities come from? How many pieces do we have to take away before we're not people
anymore? Those are the kinds of questions that keep him up at night, and they're the kind he hopes
to answer through his work.
He tends to get a little attached to his creations, and his superiors have often tried to remind him
that treating the hosts like people is silly, even dangerous. However, none of them can deny that his
dedication to giving these androids personhood has lead to an increase in quality of the park and its
narratives. At a certain point he knows that he can't go so far as to give the hosts actual
consciousness - he knows that would be as cruel as it would be difficult - but his drive to find answers
to those "what if?" questions is often hard to deny. So he keeps pushing the limits of what's possible.
Keeps looking for that elusive boundary that makes us human. He often wonders just how much is
separating him from the AIs he maintains.
But if you can catch him at a time where he's not being burdened with existential questions, you'll
find that he's a fairly spacey, awkward man. Social skills aren't his strong suit, which many find odd
given that his entire job is to program the hosts for social interaction. Socializing is much easier
to hash out in theory, but in practice he's often fidgety and prone to rambling. His coworkers often
describe him as "weird, but a nice guy."
history:
Even as a child, Victor loved puzzles. He always had his nose buried in a book, or he was tinkering
with something. Taking things apart and trying to figure out how they worked was the best way he
found to distract himself from the bleaker aspects of his life, namely his parents and their rocky
relationship.
Victor's mother married his father when they both were young. They hadn't been dating very long,
but they'd both felt the pressure from their families, who had always been friends, to stay with
each other. Everyone always went on and on about what a sweet couple they made, and after a
while they both started to believe it. Victor's father made his peace with it, but his mother very
quickly found herself feeling unhappy and trapped. After two kids, she couldn't stand it anymore,
and she began looking for relief. That relief came in the form of a single father with a ten year
old daughter. Eager to get on his good side and relieved that his kid was well-mannered and older
than her young children at home (who were at that time either rebellious or painfully shy and
clingy), she started spending more time away from home with either her new beau, his daughter,
or both. It was a while before Victor's father found out, but when he did, things went downhill
very quickly.
Victor's parents fought often, and as time went on their fights only grew more vicious and petty.
Victor and his sister, Yvonne, often were left to their own devices, Yvonne trying to distract her
little brother from the screaming in the other room by making up games and puzzles for them to
play with. Victor was very close with his sister when they were kids, and though his mother would
often be gone for long stretches of time, his father would at least make an effort to keep things
normal. He tried his best to be there for his kids, though they both knew that their family was
hardly a happy one. For a little while, the two were going to couple's therapy, and there was a tiny
glimmer of hope that maybe they could salvage this. However, any shreds of that hope were
destroyed when their parents finally decided to get a divorce.
The court ruled that Victor's father would get primary custody of his children, and his mother would
get visitation rights. Negotiating this quickly became a nightmare as Victor's mother went back to
her boyfriend, and Victor and Yvonne, who were nine and twelve at the time respectively, quickly
became frustrated and resentful of her tendency to forget important dates and flake out on them
when it was her weekend to take them. Meanwhile, the fighting between their parents was as bad
as ever, except now they did it either over the phone or in short bursts during hand-offs. Finally
neither could take it anymore, and Victor's mother cut off contact with them entirely, only bothering
to send a card for birthdays (when she remembered.)
Victor's father struggled to support all three of them and be fully present for his children, but he did
his best to make them feel loved and appreciated. His efforts didn't go unnoticed, either, and Victor
especially bonded closely with his dad, clinging to both him and Yvonne as the only stable things in
his life. But of course every kid eventually has to strike out on their own, and when he was eighteen,
he was accepted to a prestigious college's robotics and computer engineering program, and he left
to pursue a degree in programming.
Two years passed by in a blur of classes, college parties, and many many late nights studying. Victor
was often preoccupied with trying to impress his professors and make connections with the companies
who tended to scout the college, but he eventually started to notice his dad acting more spacey than
usual when he came home for holidays. For a while, he didn't think much of it. His dad had always been
stressed ever since divorcing his wife, and he must be extra stressed now that neither of his kids were
home anymore, Victor reasoned. Sadly it wasn't quite as benign as that, and two years after Victor left
home for college, his dad told him and his sister that he'd been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's
disease.
Yvonne insisted on telling their mother, saying that "if she has any decency left in her, she'll care."
At that time, save for minor memory lapses and the occasional moodiness, their father was still
relatively independent and healthy, and so their mother didn't do anything other than offer a half-
hearted "I'm so sorry to hear that. Let me know if I can help", and her children didn't attempt to
push it further. Victor and Yvonne took charge of helping their dad where they could, and it worked
out alright for two more years. Victor managed to impress a scout from Delos with his senior project,
and Yvonne got a promotion from her own employer. Then their father's condition took another turn
for the worst. His memory was getting more and more spacey, and he could no longer be left alone for
long periods of time, lest he hurt himself on accident. Victor was on the cusp of being hired for a job
programming for Delos, and Yvonne was busy with her own career. They needed help, so Yvonne called
their mother again. This time she agreed to come help them.
Victor didn't know how to act around his mother after she came back into their lives, and there were
many times where he was glad that his new job kept him busy. To her credit, she did make an attempt
to catch up with them about their lives and be accommodating, but Victor struggled to put past hurts
behind him. This was made worse by the fact that even though their dad's memory was failing, he still
remembered his ex-wife perfectly clearly, and often his memory would roll back several years to a time
when they were still married and still trying to work things out. Some days it was manageable, and his
mother was able to stay civil. Other days...not so much. On the worst days when she was unable to push
down her own anger over those fights, Victor often found himself unable to stay in the same room as
either of them, just trying to push down old memories and stop up old wounds. He realized that he
regretted letting Yvonne call their mother, and he just wanted her out of their lives again.
Victor spent more and more time with his dad as he deteriorated, partly as an excuse to tell his mom
she could stay home that day, and partly because the rate at which he was losing his father was
starting to scare him. He did everything he could to try and help his dad keep his mind sharp and his
memories fresh, so the first time his father failed to recognize him felt like a punch to the gut. As
time went on, Victor felt more and more like he was talking to a completely different person. Towards
the end, he didn't even feel like he was doing that much. His father barely spoke, and when he did he
was hopelessly confused, parroting back phrases like...well, like some kind of robot. Victor felt this
strange panic, like he needed to try and preserve everything he could of his father, every story,
every fond memory, but there was so much. He didn't know where to start. And every day it felt like
he lost something he hadn't even realized he would miss. One day his father was spacey, but still
himself, and the next...the next he was just a body with a few scraps of personality still programmed
into it, and Victor didn't know where or when he had well and truly lost the man who had raised him.
Victor's father died when Victor was twenty-five. His father was only fifty, and it hit everyone harder
than they expected. They'd all been expecting it, of course, but it still hurt. His father had many friends
and the funeral was a large affair. Many people came to Victor to offer their condolences, but the whole
time Victor just felt numb. He took the time off from work that everyone insisted he take, but he felt
like he'd already done his grieving, like he'd lost his dad well before this and had already come to terms
with it. This just made it official. The grief didn't really come back until he started wondering when he'd
lost his father exactly. What was the real date? The real time? What was the piece that finally did it?
What turned his father from a human being into a shell? He didn't get much time to ponder those
questions, as there was still the issue of his surviving family to deal with.
Yvonne and their mother got closer in the last year of their father's life, and she wanted their mother
to be part of their life again. She wanted to be a family again, but when she expressed this to Victor,
he didn't take it well. He wanted nothing to do with their mother, and this made Yvonne furious. She
wanted both of them in her life, and she couldn't understand why Victor couldn't just give their
mother a chance, even if it was just for Yvonne's benefit. Victor did eventually cave and agree to
try and talk to their mom, but that didn't go very smoothly either. What was supposed to be a civil
conversation trying to hash out their feelings and differences became a shouting match that killed any
hope that Victor and his mother could repair their relationship. Yvonne became even more angry, saying
that she really should have expected this. After all, Victor had spent the past four years studying robots
more than people and treating their own dad like he was some kind of puzzle to be solved. There was
no walking back that statement, no matter how much she regretted it later, and so they parted ways,
bitter and bereaved, with Yvonne having lost her father and brother, and Victor having lost his entire
family all within the course of a week.
Victor threw himself back into his work. He'd already managed to impress his superiors with his work
on Isaiah, a host who the operations manager had personally requested be overhauled not long after
Victor was hired. It was his first big project, and he was determined to keep delivering exemplary
work. Eventually he was given a comfortable position in Westworld's Department of Behavior with
more free reign over the hosts and their programming. There, tinkering with the hosts and their
personalities and memories, he got the chance to try and work through those questions that had been
haunting him since his father's death. What is the line between a person and a robot? How life-like
can you make something while still being able to comfortably say that that thing isn't alive? He knows
that he can't make the hosts too independent or life-like, lest they actually begin to remember and
process what the guests in the park are allowed to do to them, but there's a part of him - that curious
part of him that has always loved solving puzzles - that still wants to keep pushing the technology as
far as it will let him. And maybe if he's lucky - just maybe - he'll find the answers to those existential
questions that keep him up at night. And maybe if he's able to answer those questions, maybe he can
finally be at peace with his grief.▌

- Victor is responsible for Cheddar, Behavior's mascot. Cheddar is a corgi host who Victor programmed with a measure of human intelligence on par with the human hosts. It started as a dare and a challenge from his coworkers, but it quickly became a personal project for him that he worked on when he found himself getting stuck on how to solve a particular problem with the hosts. By the time Dr. Lise, the head of Behavior, found out about this, Victor had figure out how to program Cheddar to speak. She wasn't too pleased, but she let it slide. Why, Victor will never know.
- As much as he hates to admit it, Victor has gotten sort of...attached to Dr. Lise. He knows she's his supervisor and not his friend, but he can't help but feel like he needs to do backflips to impress her. Getting a compliment on his work from her is a high he can ride all day. He likes to think it's just because he admires her and how smart she is, but there's also part of him that sees a lot of his mother in her, and that part is still desperately looking for approval as much as he wishes it would give up on the idea.
- Victor has been in the park before now of course, but he's never been in the park. He's never taken a vacation there because the idea never really appealed to him, so it's very very weird for him now pretending to be a guest. Though pretending to be a cowboy does have its fun moments, he will admit, (and there's a part of him that can't help but think about how excited his younger self would be to do this and fulfill his childhood dreams of being a gaucho like his (alleged, if his grandparents are to be trusted) ancestors, riding across the Pampas without a care in the world.) Still, he's doing his best to stay focused, and he has drawn more than a few odd looks from guests for doing things not fully in line with the immersive roleplay experience around him.
- Of the things he keeps on him, the tablet is definitely the most important. His tablet allows him to interface with the hosts he comes across, and if he were to lose it, he'd be relegated to basic voice commands in order to analyze the hosts. He'd have to go back to the Mesa to get a new one, and that is the last thing he wants, so he guards the thing very closely, and he tries to keep it out of sight of any guests.
- Though he did practice a little with the park's guns before heading out, he's no gunslinger. In a fight, his strategy is usually to cheat if possible with voice commands and book it.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Isaiah Dean: Isaiah was something of a pet project for Victor, albeit one that came
with a lot of pressure attached. He was still fairly new, and when the ops manager requested
that Isaiah be overhauled, Dr. Lise decided this would be a good test of their promising new
programmer's skills. Turning Isaiah from a card shark into a sheriff with a heart of gold was
a lot of work, but it paid off in the end, and Victor still holds Isaiah up as one of his favorite
hosts to work on. He's also responsible for sneaking the childhood friends connection with Abby
into Isaiah's narrative, just because he liked the idea of two of his favorite hosts being friends,
because he's sappy like that sometimes.
Abigail Hardwick: Victor is fond of all the hosts he maintains, but Abby is the one
he finds the most interesting. As the oldest host in the park, it's fascinating to look at her
code and see how she's been changed over the years, and whenever he runs an update on her,
he feels a sense of pride, like he's putting his own touch on the park's legacy. He's responsible
for the update that's lead to her remembering some things, an update that has caused several
isolated incidents in the park. In his quest to find the cause of the bug, Abby is his primary
target. He feels very comfortable with her code, and he figures she's a good host to start
debugging. (It also helps that of the updated hosts, she's one of the ones who isn't supposed to
be a combatant, so in theory she can't shoot him if she bugs out. In theory.)
Deserae Moore: Dez was briefly a thorn in Victor's side back when he was trying to overhaul
Isaiah. Turning Isaiah into a morally upstanding sheriff meant he had to deal with the old
narratives that the previous sheriff took part in, and that included their place as the killer of
Dez's wife. Eventually he and the employees from Narrative found a solution. Victor ended up
not changing Dez's code or narrative at all, and instead he changed what they'd put together
for Isaiah by making Isaiah's father a killer who is now no longer around for Dez to exact
vengeance upon, leaving his son as her only option. He still remembers Dez now because of
all the time he spent trying to get her story to work.
_____
Jeffery Burgess: Victor really only knows of Jeff through his sister. Jeff became Yvonne's
assistant at her law firm after finishing his undergrad, not long after Victor and Yvonne's
mother re-entered the picture. With so much on his mind at the time, Victor barely
remembers Jeff if he's being perfectly honest, and he certainly never met him.

Her hands were covered in blood as she pressed against her wife's open wound. She kept
telling herself that if she moved her hands she'd be letting her baby down. She kept pres
sing, tears dripping down as they joined the blood. She was pulled from her thoughts by
the feeling of weak hands on her wrist. Looking up at her wife's eyes, she listened to her
dying wish. "Just make sure that stupid bandit gets what he deserves, sweetheart." ~_~
