Lightningstar nodded slightly as Cornpaw darted off. He watched the apprentice for a moment before walking over to his deputy. "Good morning Olivebrook," he meowed. "How's everything looking this morning?"

Mistfur's ears twitched slightly as she listened to her denmates begin to stir and leave the den. Best get moving myself she thought as she sat up in her nest with a yawn. She quickly groomed moss out of her fur before heading out into camp.

Stormpaw nodded with a small grin. "I was born ready," she meowed. She glanced over to where her grandfather was speaking with Oliverbrook before turning her attention back to her mentor. "Do you think we'll be put on patrol before we can go?"

Smokepaw sat near the entrance to camp. She wondered if Hemlockweb would train her today. She wanted to grow to be a fierce warrior some day, but she couldn’t do it just sitting around. She had figured she probably wouldn’t be considered for patrols but felt more than ready to prove otherwise. What could she possibly do on her own in the meantime.

He let out a yawn. He had been out all night hunting. He found it easier to hunt while it was dark, considering his pelt and the fact that prey was didn't expect danger at night. Hemlockweb figured should've slept in, since Olivebrook allowed it, yet he decided that would be too boring. He simply kept to himself and hummed a tune he would make up along the way. As leaves fell into the water and he kept up his relaxing hum, he slowly faded out of his protective and on edge attitude. He figured he could let down his guard for a few moments and no one would notice.

He flicked his ear, giving a small smile. He lifted his paw calmly and mewed, ``Ah, Lightningstar. Today has been quite adequate so far. Now, what could I have possibly done for the stars to grace me with this visit?`` He put his paw back down, standing tall. Even though his leader was older than him, and also above him in their ranks, he still felt the need to act like a protective older brother. He did that to all his clanmates, no matter how young or old, after all.

Smokepaw was hesitant. There was no way she’d go out looking for her mentor, let alone by herself. But if she stayed she’d probably be chosen to be part of the patrol. She knew if she even left the camp on her own she would indeed get an earful from Olivebrook, Lightningstar or even Hemlockweb. She decided to grab a mouse from the fresh-kill pile. Before she did anything she should at least eat something.I wonder where Hemlockweb went. I don’t see him anywhere. she thought as she took small bites of her mouse. Her ears flicked hearing Stormpaw and Hawkthroat. Stormpaw seems as eager to do some training as me. After finishing her mouse she padded over to Stormpaw. “Hello Stormpaw. I guess you really want to get going and train” Smokepaw meowed. She looked at Hawkthroat. “Hawkthroat have you seen Hemlockweb? I was hoping to train with him” she said.

She looked at the warrior with a deep sight as it was very clear that he didn't want her company 'well at least I tried' she thought herself looking down the Stormpaw. She gave the apprentice a small smile before looking over to the apprentice's den, wondering if Raypaw was still sleeping there, maybe she could go to check it out.

He left the leader's side, flicking his ears as Olivebrook approved to talk with his mentor. He looked at the cats at the fresh-kill pile and the preys at the pile, which he could offer to the queen "Lilysong? Are you awaken? Hello?" he called out eeking inside the den.

She walked near the elder, picking up something for her to eat, she gave her kits to pick their pwn prey as long they were able to eat it all. She was told to them that they could only take as much prey as they can eat, not leaving leftover's "are you sure?" she asked the elder, looking up at her "they can be very...rascal" she kept meowing taking a bite to eat.

He looked at the shrew the elder was eating at "so is there any difference between shrew and mice or vole?" he asked suddenly "I have tasted them all, but don't know the difference? is there any?" he kept asking. His eyes looked at his mother for a moment, then to his sister who was picking some mice out of the pile.

“Wouldn’t there be a bit of difference in taste?” Whitekit mewed softly as she tried to think. She never tried shrew. The kit did like mice and vole. Whitekit smiled at Hazeshade as she sat by her brother, hoping Blackkit wasn’t bothered by her joining them. In her rush to join in the conversation she had forgotten to grab a mouse. She could definitely eat that without there being leftovers for crows. “I find mice chewy. And vole seem a bit tougher but not too tough...” she added.

"I was coming over to see if any patrols have been sent out yet this morning," Lightningstar meowed. "The fresh-kill pile looks like it could use some stocking up and if borders haven't been checked yet they need to be. Can't have intruders thinking they can waltz in as they please."

Stormpaw gave her denmate a small nod in greeting as she joined them. "Hi Smokepaw," she meowed. "Yeah, I'd rather get some training in before we get assigned to clean the dens or something." She tilted her head slightly when Smokepaw asked Hawkthroat if he had seen Hemlockweb. "Hey, maybe you can train with us if he isn't around," she meowed.
