Long ago, these cats lived in peace together. They were united, known as Laurelclan. After many moons and a new leader, cats were unhappy with the change of leadership. They felt that the new leader was too harsh and not as kind as the previous one. A revolt was started, and the clan split into two sides. One side wanted to follow the current leader, and the other side wanted to vote for a different leader. A civil war within the clan started, and blood was shed. A decision was made for the clan to fully separate into the different camps and create two new clans.

Many more generations have passed since this war. Both of the clans, Shoreclan and Summitclan, were thriving. There had been peace for a long time, and cats remained in their own territory. At least... until now. 1 moon ago, a battle during a gathering at the Old Sycamore broke out. Starclan gave the two clans an ultimatum: try to make peace for the final time or make a third clan act as a barrier between them.

For the two clans, peace was not an option. Now Sycamoreclan stands in the way and protects the peace. The peace has lasted so far and the cats suspect nothing until a number of cats from each of the 3 clans receive a message from Starclan. They aren't sure what to make of it, but it will change everything in this new life all of them have built. Will they be able to save everyone from destruction?

The three clans are located along the California Coast Ranges.

Summitclan's land is on one of the mountains on the range, although small enough to share a border with Sycamoreclan in the forest. Their territory is very large, stretching from the edge of the forest to the smallest peak of the mountain. The shelter consists of a large rocky cave with little dips and caverns within. The cats use these caverns as dens, the largest ones being the medicine cat den, the nursery, and the warriors' den. In the middle of the cave is a little pool of water that seems to never go dry and can freeze during leaf-bare.

Summitclan and Shoreclan are enemies.
Summitclan and Sycamoreclan are allies.

The peak of the highest mountain is where leaders and medicine cats go to speak with Starclan.
For Summitclan cats, this is a somewhat easy trek since the journey is not far from their territory.
All clans are allowed to go to the peak as long as there is peace. This place is known as the "Everlasting Mountain".

xxxxxxHe was sitting in the camp clearing, sweeping snow that was already settling onto his brown pelt. Glancing around the clearing, Tigerleap watched cats emerging from dens and dipped his head to each of them as they passed by. He mainly was waiting for his apprentice to wake up and get ready for training. They hadn't been chosen for patrol, which was a little disappointing, but he knew there were other chances. Perhaps tomorrow Tigerleap would be chosen for the morning patrol and could take Goosepaw with him for some extra experience.

In the apprentices' den, it was still extremely warm and Stormpaw wanted to stay a little longer before their mentor came to fetch them. Perhaps their father Lightningwolf would come to get them... but they didn't want to think about that.

Flickerswoop mumbled something as he walked, looking around the territory with minimal interest. He knew why there were
dawn patrols, but Starclan did he hate them. Leafbare was no good in the first place, but was even worse in the mountains.
He had the misfortune of having a short coat on a snowy day, and felt like he had to shake frost off his whiskers every othe
r second. It didn't help that one of the cats on patrol with him looked like she could tear his pelt right off his skin in no tim
e. At least he was better than an apprentice, right? He sighed. The best course of action would probably just be to get thro
ugh with it and hole up in the warriors den with a mouse once he got home.

indentationThey were silent as they padded along their mentor; Goldeneyes, and Flickerswoop. Pale green eyes flickered between the two, gait slowing some as they looked up towards the sky. Duskpaw didn't really blend in with the snow around them, their dark fur standing out. But at least they weren't a bright orange color, hunting and stealth would be almost impossible during leafbare in Summitclan. Their ear twitched at the slight sound of skittering critters, and sighed, half wondering if Goldeneyes would be okay with them getting a quick snack. After all the apprentice hadn't gotten to eat before the patrol had left camp. With a quick glance at their mentor, the black-furred feline deviated slightly from the path and towards the sound of prey.

She sat near the leader's den, her gaze watching the clearing for the cats which were still there. The morning patrols were sent out so maybe she could do a hunting patrol, she thought watching the cats which seemed like a good choice to pick to lead that patrol. Her eyes turned to Tigerleap the handsome male warrior "Tigerleap, do you mind leading a hunting patrol? take your apprentice and whoever you want with you?" she meowed to the tom.

He was pretty much awakened now like always at this time of the morning, not being involved in the morning patrol which didn't really bother him that much. He gave a few licks to his chest and front paws before looked around for the cats in camp, trying to either see his apprentice Rosepaw or son Stormpaw. He was not picky toward his son, but wanted them to be responsible, and took their apprenticeship seriously.

Sighing she felt a little disappointed not to be involved in the patrol with Flickerswoop. She was started to have feelings toward the younger warrior, but so far she didn't do anything about it, but she sure wanted to know him better.
