indentationDarknettle watched as the group padded away, and heaved a sigh of relief once they were out of hearing distance. Shaking his head to clear his mind, the seal brown tom started forward following the scent of the fox. There were a few ways that this could end up for him, and like any sane cat, he hoped for the best. He could either find the fox outside clan territory, denned far enough away that it shouldn't be a problem. Or similarly but worse, he could find it outside clan territory, but close enough to cause trouble. Or the worse of the tree he could run into the fox and either A) flee, B) Turn a fight - probably to his death, or C) Lead it out of the territory, climb a tree and wait until it gets bored and leaves. Like anyone, he hoped that it wouldn't come to that.

Great Starclan, maybe Woolytangle was finally losing it. "There needs to be a balance, with an older leader closer to his or her last life, sure, someone like Lilywhisper would be fine, but pairing the young and inexperienced together is madder than a fox in a fit." Hazeshade huffed and licked her chest a few times in her embarrassment.

indentationGiving the tom a wink, he let out a soft chuckle and quickly said his goodbye before heading towards the clan's border. While he'd have to wait until the warrior was out of sight, he did in fact want to go back for his blackbird. That was still on clan territory. Maybe if he catches me again so soon, he'll be kind? Jay wondered, before shaking his head, and scoffed. Yeah right, a warrior showing mercy? Mice will fly long before that happens. After a suitable amount of time, the tom paused checking to see if anyone was around him. Finding that he was, in fact alone, he made a hard turn and speedily started heading toward where his blackbird was buried.

He snorted, rolling his eyes. "Lilywhisper may still be a spring chicken, but in case you haven't noticed, most of the older warriors are either A: ready to retire, or B: crackpot crazy! I say, we need someone a bit softer so that when Thornstar is gone we live in peace instead of trying to tear each other apart." With that, the old tom got shakily to his paws and stormed out of camp, legs trembling a bit with each step.

He tried to ignore it, but the truth was he was getting old. He wasn't sure how much longer he'd even be able to make it out of camp with how weak he was getting.

indentationGreen eyes widened in horror as Flutterpaws voice sounded a few paw steps off to one side. Slowly his gaze turned to the young tom, as a low un-cat-like growl sounded in front of him. "Run," he whispered, "Run, now!" Darknettle darted forward, headbutting the tom out of the way as a towering red fox sprang out of some tall grasses along the edge of the beach. "Get out of here, I'll lead it away. And don't you dare come back for me." He snapped, face severe, "I don't want to see you or any patrol around here looking for me unless I'm still gone by this time tomorrow!" Turning around the tom ran at the fox gaining its attention, a snarl on his face. The tom made a slight turn, narrowly missing the snapping jaw of the fox, though he was able to get in a quick nip to one of its legs as he passed by. "Follow me you mangy curr!" He taunted it.

I never did get that tom's name. He thought as a frown marred his face. next time, then. Hopefully, that will be soon... But not too soon. Don't want to seem desperate. Jay mused with an amused smirk, after all I do have choices, and it's not like he's not the only good-looking cat within the clan. A purr rumbled in his throat as the tom stepped out of clan territory, his body relaxing a smidge.

indentation Being chased by the fox was not something he had wanted, and honestly, he blamed Flutterpaw for it. Though, he may not have noticed the fox until it was too late if Flutterpaw hadn't been there either. So it was a half and half kind of thing, give and take. A world is full of maybes and if's. But he couldn't think about that. Now, he was running for his life. Dodging around the tree's the tom ran, only the excited yips of the fox told him that it was still on his tail. He had a plan, he would lead it far away from the territory. Less than a day's travel, but far enough away that hopefully, the fox wouldn't bother to come back. Then maybe if he had enough energy, he'd take a nap in the cave before heading back to camp.

indentation Stepping back into the abandoned fox den that he called home, Jay sighed and laid down in his nest. Setting the blackbird down, he hummed then began to de-feather the bird, setting the feathers aside so he could add the feathers to his nest later. After the bird was de-feathered, the tom took the first bite. His eyes closed, silently enjoying the taste. His tail curled neatly around his body and continued to eat after he opened his eyes once again.
