The tom glanced back and forth between the older warrior and his mentor. He nodded hesitantly after a moment, his demeanor changing back. It wasn't Darknettle's fault. He had just really been looking forward to searching the forest with his mentor.

ShadeStorm was already up and moving. He had went out hunting and had caught a few mice, voles and a plump rabbit. Setting them on the pile he picked a sparrow for himself. He sat outside the Warrior's den and tucked right in. He purred softly as SheriFall's tail brushed his shoulder as she padded by.

SheriFall woke up and sat up. She gave her chest a few licks before stretching and shaking out her coat. She padded out of the Warrior's den, running her tail over Shadestorm's shoulder as she passed, smiling when she heard his purr. He crouched low and stalked forward, stopping each time the rabbit looked up. He soon pounced, the rabbit giving a startled squeak before he sunk his fangs in. He carried his prey back to his den, tucking in to eat right outside it.

Stormkit sat at the entrance to the nursery, watching the clan wake up. He sighed softly, moving to lay in a small patch of sun close by. He curled up and smiled to himself as the sun warmed his tiny body.

Sage was up early and out hunting. She already caught a Robin but she wanted a few more just in case. She stopped and tasted the air for any sents. She smelled a mouse nest nearby and snuck up on it. He awkwardly cleared his throat then mewed, "If you like, I may offer my assistance after the patrol..." He trailed off, "Or whenever you want to go looking for your family." He added quietly. The tom wasn't quite sure how to breach the topic too well, or how the offer would be reserved. While some - or most - of the younger clan members might not know or remember, Darknettle had been born a loner, despite the fact he did have clan blood. It had made some of the older warriors weary of him as an apprentice and young warrior.

He gave his head a mental shake, maybe they knew that I wasn't ready. He thought, hoping that he was correct, but dreading that he was wrong. indentationHazeshade nodded, "I had hoped so. I hate to eat flavorless, or worse dry food." She mewed in response before taking a bite. Woolytangle was correct, not that he was ever wrong. Really thinking back she could only think of a few times that the tom had ever been wrong. Shaking her head, the she-cat quickly chewed her bite and nudged the hare to a place in between them so they could just eat peacefully. After finishing her first mouthful, she gave her den-mate a quick lick. "So, heard anything interesting lately?" She asked, before taking another bite. While the she-cat wasn't really all that interested in gossip, she found it was good to keep up on rumors. One bad word spread about you could ruin your chances for a lot of things. A chance to mentor an apprentice could slip away, take you out of the running for deputy, and so much more.
indentationWhile many of the consequences no longer affected her anymore, they could affect her kits. Hopefully, with the right word flowing up and down the ranks, she could turn the tides. It wasn't often she put herself in a more political mindset - at least not as a warrior - but now she had time to see to these things as an elder. Honestly, working from the background was rather fun as well.

indentationIt didn't take long for the tom to find his prey of choice and grinned. The blackbird was pecking a worm, which made Jay grimace in distaste but shook it off. Getting into a hunting crouch the silver-tinged blue-grey tom slowly stalked towards his prey, keeping his pawsteps as light and silent as possible. His tail stilled, as to not disrupt the grass. Jay paused a two tail-lengths away from the blackbird then after bunching up his muscles, pounced. Quickly killing it with a sharp bite to its neck, the tom righted himself, with a proud smile on his jaw. After his pride from the catch faded, the tom paused and debated on returning to his den to drop off the prey before returning to the clan's territory, or burying it here and keeping up his search. After a few moments of internal debate, the tom buried he kill them started to move on.

He winced a bit at his family being brought up. He was used to talking about it with his mentor, but everyone else usually ignored that it had happened. "Oh, um, no, it's fine.
