kinda shocked fish aren't on the options list actually, even when this topic was first made we'd already had the special betta litter from tess

actually i'm surprised i never noticed until just now (though to be fair, this is also my first time looking at it since 2010 xp)

my brother has a cat, and I have isopods!!
just some common ones i found outside, so
when i have to split the colony, i can release them.

i recently had brine shrimp, but what they say
isn't true; you cannot feed brine shrimp yeast
or powdered milk. you have to feed brine shrimp
a powdered algae mix made specifically for filter feeders.
now that i know this, i want to get some and try again.

i have 4 budgies (tbh i think they have contests to see whos louder)
3 cats (will complain for attention at any given moment like theyve suddenly been touch starved for years)
and a dog (scared of her own reflections)

but its very entertaining so i dont mind

thought i may as well post an update nearly 4 years later! the familys grown since our one little canary

cats
whisper- my gorgeous little brown and white tabby girl. shes 3 years and a month old and weve had her since she was 9 weeks 🥺 she is my absolute pride and joy and i would do anything for my baby. a sassy queen that gets anything she wants
echo- my brothers catto, pure black with amber eyes. 2 and a half years old now and the one kitten we kept from whispers accidental litter :’) hes both dumb but smart at the same time somehow and very very clumsy

rats
vivian- my little agouti bareback that we got two and a bit months ago! shes a sassy and mischievous girl for sure, but very protective of her little sis
yumeko- my brothers dove berkshire, and vivians little sister. more laid back than vivi but has been starting to follow in her footsteps when it comes to getting into trouble

fish
saturn- orange and pale mickey mouse platy, pretty little girl
5 unnamed ‘fry’- theyre older than fry by now but not adults yet, 3 bright orange and 2 silver-blue. saturns little babies

horses
poppy- my bay thoroughbred! shes a rescue and was really on edge until she came into our care, now shes a very sassy lady (kind of a pattern with my pets having an attitude haha) i think shes about 4 years old and shes very pretty and great to ride
(from here onwards itll be other family members pets that i have a lot of involvement in)
joey- my nannas husbands chestnut stallion very gentle ride and very loving
ashni- nannas husbands brown and white splotched clydesdale cross, she is SO affectionate and will be your bestfriend if you have a carrot, pear or apple
gem- nannas husbands full black thoroughbred mare with a small star. she is a bit of a bully as it was just her and joey for years until we adopted ashni and poppy so theres def a bit of jealousy!

dogs
edge- my uncles german shepherd cross bull terrier! hes mostly tan with a white chest and streak down his muzzle. he sounds like hed be a very tough dog but hes the biggest baby ive ever met. hes about 7-8 but is still a puppy at heart. hes such a sweetheart and always forgets his size when he wants to sit in your lap!
charlie- nannas border collie cross kelpie, hes black with one white paw and a white chest. he wasnt very bright as a puppy but hes really intelligent and insanely fast and helps heard the cattle on the farm
molly- my nannas OTHER border collie cross kelpie! shes black and tan and still very young so shes got a lot to learn, especially regarding not chasing every cow she sees and not jumping out the back of the ute in the middle of a highway 🤦‍♂️ shes super fast though, faster than her brother charlie!

cows
(we have hundreds of different cows so just a couple honorable mentions haha)
wisteria- cant quite remember what breed she is so i wont even try to guess but shes very dark brown with a white stomach and a white splotch going up her side! she was the first calf born on the farm and i got to name her
jellybean- jellybean is wisterias little baby! hes a boy and a splitting image of his mumma though a bit bigger. his name is jellybean because we saw him jumping around the field with the other calves only a few days after he was born 🥺

its only fair i mention a few of our special babies that we only lost very recently
billie- my nannas stumpy tail cattle dog. she passed away due to old age at 15 a few weeks ago. though her age threw quite a lot of health issues at her, she was a happy girl until her very last day where she passed in her sleep. she was so loving and well behaved and she was there for me for nearly half my life. whenever i would stay over shed sleep either on the bed or in the doorway protecting me..
honey- one of our first cows we ever owned. she was cream and such an affectionate little lady. she had to be put down last week due to her randomly losing the ability to walk and rapidly declining immediately afterwards. in her time with us she gave birth to a gorgeous boy that we named latte, and was pregnant with her second calf when we had to let her go.
skittles- our handsome little rainbow lorikeet that we rescued passed away nearly a year ago due to old age. he came into my life when i wasnt in a good place and i didnt have the ability to visit him for 2 years. he passed the night before he was going to be coming back to live with me and i was really heartbroken that id never get to hang out with my sweet boy again
angel- technically not a pet, but a stray year old kitten i found that had been hit by a car 💔 she was a classic tabby manx dimple rumpy and i swore to always keep her in my heart since she had never known that love so i thought i may as well mention her here
senpai, honey and pluto- three of our fish that all passed from different causes within a short period of time. senpai and honey were mollys, one full black and one full orange, and pluto was a silvery blue platy

our old canary magic sadly isnt with us anymore either, he flew away nearly 4 years ago now and we dont know what happened to him after that
