Rookstar could feel the gentle breeze whisking through his fur playfully, almost dragging him along as his paws pounded across the ground. The pull towards the Gathering was almost unbearable, and he turned his head to watch his clanmates as he ran faster and faster towards the familiar sight. He burst into the clearing with a large leap, soaring down the edge of a hill before skidding to a halt. His chest heaved as he fought to catch his breath, and his eyes were wide with a wild excitement. This was the kind of feeling only a truly wild and free cat could feel, one that a kittypet could never even begin to imagine existed. He threw his head around to look for his Clan, and he watched them stream over the hill in a more civilized manner. "Darling, please don't embarrass us," he heard Chasmstar hiss in a mocking manner, and he turned his nose up. He had no problem denouncing their mateship now, and he was not afraid of the consequences of their breaking their vow to ÉtoileClan. Pure and utter hatred filled his body, and he turned to spot a familiar pelt in the crowd. "Minkstar! So good to see you again," he called as he padded up to her, raising his tail in a friendly, yet respectful, greeting.



CHASMSTAR - Molly - 45 Moons - Dame - Tagged: Wolfsnarl (Pinewatch)


"That's wonderful," she purred gently. The reunion of friends and family was a welcome thing, and she was glad to hear of such things happening in Pinewatch. There were no former members of ChessClan, only the descendants of Aspstar having distant family ties to the Clan of old. Patrols, however, always seemed to get lost in their vast territory, and it was a wonderful feeling when those cats eventually made their way back to camp. She could feel the chill of the night slowly working its way deeper into her fur, so she took a few moments to stand and stretch. She fluffed out her fur with a shake, smiling at the warmth that the movement provided. "Sitting still for too long always makes my joints hurt, and it's not a good thing when I've still got to make it back to my camp tonight," she chuckled. She sat back down and wrapped her tail around her, leaning her chin into her chest to give her chest fur a couple of quick licks.

Richterscreech smiled through the comfortable silence. He watched his daughter as she thought, genuinely wondering what she was thinking. He always knew that Pumpkin had had her litter, but he hadn’t sought her out due to the nature of the litter. As the surrogate, he felt more like he wasn’t meant to be a large part in their lives. He had hoped to eventually meet her, and he was entirely too glad about this evening. “The night feels wonderful. It’s truly the perfect time of year for a Gathering,” he sighed, stretching his neck back. The breeze trickled through the fluff around his neck, and his eyes closed as he felt the wind gently running through his pelt.

Wolfwhiskers's face fell as Smokefur mentioned how short his time with his mentor had been. "That's rather unfortunate. I feel for those apprentices who were taken on too late in a medicine cat's life and left alone with the duties all too soon. It's hard, but I believe that's what these Gatherings are for. Asking questions is the best way to learn new things, even if you have your full name," he chuckled, knowing the many times he had asked for advice in this clearing. Wolfwhiskers had asked for help during the Quickcough outbreak, and he'd asked for the best advice in helping train a broken limb after it had healed. If a medicine cat hadn't suggested letting a cat swim, then he doubted some of his patients would be walking as they did today.

Godivapaw’s eyes widened in excitement. “You’ve got a brother?! I’ll definitely have to bring either of my siblings to meet one of you just to prove my point,” he chuckled. He couldn’t actually believe that he’d proven Ghirardellipaw and Lindtpaw wrong. “They’ll be so jealous when I tell them I met you,” he chirped as he spun in a quick circle. His eyes darted back and forth as he made sure to commit Cocoapaw to memory. He knew that he would eventually search her out again, the need to keep up with distant family a quickly decided fact in his heart.

TOURNESOLPAW - Tom - 7 Moons - Apprenti - Tagged: Geyserbloom (Highgarden) & Turtle's Shell (Golden Kingdom)


Tournesolpaw looked at the two cats who he quickly realized to be kits of Renegade with wide, fearful eyes. Geyserbloom continuously mentioned that he was lost and needed to find his parents, so he quickly stood up and puffed his chest out. "My parents aren't here, and I'm not lost! I'm just... kind of... looking for other children of Renegade," he mumbled, his words falling quieter as he felt the fear creeping back up his throat. He swallowed before raising his eyes back to Geyserbloom and Turtle's Shell. The mollies were both extremely pretty, and they has the same speckles on their faces, tails, and limbs that he had. He offered a sheepish smile as his confidence slowly returned. Being so young and left alone at the Gathering was a daunting task, and Tournesolpaw knew he wasn't doing the best. He did know he was doing better than others would have, but it felt rather strange to be talking to cats so much older than him.

Moosestar looked up at the tom who began talking to her, and she sniffled. She raised a paw to wipe away the tears, and she pulled herself up into a sitting position. “I’m so sorry, you shouldn’t be seeing me like this,” she murmured, her voice filled with the sorrow of a freshly broken heart. She could see Rollingfog nearly every where she looked, and she gently shied away from the tom who only seemed to want to help. He was awkward, almost beyond belief, but she just offered a weak smile. She could feel her legs trembling, and she quickly wondered how she had ever made it to the Gathering.

Skuasoar recoiled in shock at the face Berry Scorched by Flames made when she asked if they had any kits. She cleared her throat awkwardly as they mentioned they didn't like them, and she quickly shuffled her paws in the dust. "That's one thing about having a council. I was able to take the time to raise my own kits without having to search for a temporary replacement," she meowed simply. She wondered how a cat could genuinely dislike such tiny bundles of joy, and her face warmed as she remembered the feeling of having Aventurineeyes, Tanzanitegaze, and Carneliansight at her belly, requiring her for every aspect of life. "Nevertheless, how are things going for your Clan? This past leafbare was particularly rough, though I don't know for how far," she meowed, wrapping her tail around her paws.



MAPLESONG - Molly - 69 Moons - Helbreder - Tagged: Solsticestand (Highgarden)


Maplesong nodded with a smile as Solsticestand mentioned that her mentor was Merlinsong. "I've definitely heard of him. To be rather honest with you, most medicine cats here have probably heard of him. Highgarden is one of those Clans that is well-known," she chuckled. As Solsticestand mentioned a run in with a coyote, she quickly offered her condolences. "A new apprentice is always a pawful. My name is Maplesong," she chuckled, quickly realizing that her name and Merlinsong's were rather close. Quickly, her eyes darted to where a rather familiar tom was standing at the edge of the Gathering. Brownie, the surrogate for her and Glacierbloom's litter, had attended. She was forever grateful to the tom, and she noticed that Grizzlypaw constantly glanced at the tom while speaking to another tom who looked suspiciously like Brownie. Maplesong shook her head as she scattered the reminiscent thoughts of her tiny family, and she smiled. "I also have a sister in another large Clan. Sweethen of ChessClan is my older sister, but I highly doubt you know her. I haven't seen her at a Gathering in moons," she chuckled with a smile.



TOMBECHO - Non-binary - 57 Moons - Helbreder - Tagged: Petrelhop (WheatClan) & Cream of Wheat (CocoaClan)

Tombecho's eyes widened at Petrelhop's question. They'd never fully considered living in the cold as "hard", though it tended to present unique challenges. "I wouldn't say it's hard, but it has its own set of needs. Cats with shorter fur have to find ways to stay warm. The healers have to know how to smell herbs through the snow. The territory is rather beautiful when the snow is undisturbed, but it looks messy during the melting moon. My skin is never free of the mud," they groaned dramatically, a soft chuckle punctuating their words. They loved the territory they lived in, even if they couldn't feel their paws half of the time. It was rather comforting to know that Maplesong was willing to search for herbs when the snow was particularly thick, and Tombecho paid her back by doing all of the kit check-ups since she hated doing those. Tombecho found them to be the best part of their routine, though, so they didn't mind stopping by the nursery every quarter moon or so to see how the littlest members of the Clan were doing.

GRIZZLYPAW - Tom - 12 Moons - Lærling - Tagged: Neptunepaw (ShoreClan)


Grizzlypaw's eyes widened as the tom confirmed his suspicions. Grizzlypaw let out a vibrant purr as he nodded enthusiastically, his tail twitching with delight as his worries over Sablefrost were quickly forgotten. "Oh, I'm so glad to meet you! Brownie is my father, but only biologically. He's actually just the tom my mother used as a surrogate so that she and my other mom could have kits together. I'm so glad to find out there's more half-siblings out there. My three littermates would love you," he chuckled excitedly, nodding enthusiastically. Grizzlypaw could scarcely believe he actually had half-siblings out there, even if he had spotted the tom he knew to be Brownie hanging around the edge of the Gathering. Maplesong and Glacierboom were wonderful mothers, but Grizzlypaw couldn't smother his eagerness to know more about his biological father and said tom's other kits.

HYENA'S BREATH - Molly - 30 Moons - Matriarch - Tagged: Fluffy (Nox Invictus)


Hyena's Breath bit back a retort. She almost wanted to mock Fluffy, the feeling that she was mocking her nearly overwhelming. Her Clan, despite it currently only being herself, was the strongest there would ever be. She unsheathed her claws and dug them into the dirt underneath her paws, churning it until she had dirtied the white fur on her toes. She cleared her throat as she stared down her nose at Fluffy. "Is your Clan thriving?" she asked simply, her voice gruff and lower than it had been previously. She was building a barrier around herself, quickly receding into her tough exterior. They didn't deserve to see her at her weakest, only at her strongest. She scoffed aloud, knowing that she never would have a weakest. She was powerful, and would only ever be so. She may have come from the lowest order, but they were taking over the Savanna. The Order of the Hyena was rising in power, and she should present herself as so.

one nodded his head a bit. "i know what you mean." he thought back to how smokefur talked about badgermask, maybe the tom knew something that he didn't. "what's it like in hazeclan's territory?" one asked trying to change the topic.

badgermask smiled a bit. "ah but there's no fun in not taking risks." she licked at her chest fur which she had just noticed was unruly from the journey to the gathering. "we've been talking an awful lot about me, what's going on with you?" she tilted her head a bit curious to know what the tom was thinking, or at the very least what he had planned for his future.

smokefur nodded his head, his mentor had not died of old age but of the illness that swept over his previous clan. he had been lucky enough that the illness had not reached the fallen, it was a tough one, and it wasn't like smokefur had made it any better during his time there. this sparked a question in his mind. "were you born in chessclan, or did you happen upon them?" it may have been a strange question, but no one in the fallen except for the current apprentices had been born within the clan.

stormfang could sense that the tom didn't like the subject of his old clan, he could relate as well, no one in the fallen seemed to have a perfect life before coming there. "we aren't like conventional clans i suppose, that's why we have a different name." stormfang replied.

wolfsnarl's ears perked up. "is your camp far from here? sorry for prying but we had quite the journey to get here as well." he chuckled at the last part remembering their walk to the gathering. yewclaw's complaining along with hawkstorm teasing the tom for being too soft. it made him happy to have the kingdom almost back to how it was before.

hawkstorm settled down on his haunches to tell the quite jovial cat about his home. "pinewatch is in a large pine forest, very far from here. this is our second time coming to a gathering." he followed crackerheart's gaze towards the leader, they had not managed to point out the right leader but hawkstorm could spot wolfsnarl, he motioned his head towards his king. "that is wolfsnarl, he is the king of pinewatch."

yewclaw glanced over when heard a familiar voice speak towards him. he had an amused look on his face as he recognized coypond from the last time he had come to the gathering. "am i? i suppose its because we've been coming across more cats, these past moons." he looked down at his paws trying not to let the she-cat see the happiness in his eyes, that wolfsnarl and his patrols had been finding pinewatch cats that were separated from them in the hollow. "how is everything going in your home?"

snowfall could see the confusion in the younger's eyes when she stated her title. she was especially interested in duckclan, hawkstorm had mentioned that the groups of cats had different names usually ending in clan, and to say the least she was fascinated by it. she was puzzled by flaxduck's question about ducks. "i do suppose ducks are okay. i see them quite often in the warmer seasons by the crimson lake."

as coalstar listened to the other leader, the molly's gaze flicked to textreader for a moment. she didn't seem to be very keen on talking, as feralstar seemed to be the only other cat in the conversation. not that she particularly minded that, though. if textreader didn't want to talk, she wouldn't want to pressure her to join the conversation.

she brought her attention back to feralstar, and couldn't help but grin at the molly's remark. lightclan really hadn't been around for a while, at least compared to the other clans she'd heard of. some, she knew, had already been around for generations, while it had been roughly ten moons since she first founded her clan. but still, it was nice to think that another leader thought of her as experienced enough to have led a clan for a long time. turning to look at feralstar, coalstar gave a small shake of her head. "no, actually. compared to some of the other clans here, lightclan is still fairly young. I just happened to attend my first gathering just when I first founded my clan." the molly said with a light shrug. though it had been a bit nerve-wracking attending the gathering as such a new leader, she remembered it fondly. after a few moments, she asked, "how about your clan?"

the tom's yellow eyes scanned the area for a moment, his gaze watching over the gathering area. most of the others already seemed to be meeting up with others they had met at gatherings prior, already deep in conversation. as this was only his second gathering, stagleap couldn't say he knew many others. but he didn't have much trouble socializing, either, and was more than happy to talk to the other cats. it was interesting to learn about how the outside clans worked, anyway. after a few moments, his eyes fell upon an unfamiliar tom in the crowd, who seemed to be standing by himself. taking the chance to start conversation, he approached the other tom, who luckily didn't seem to be too far from where he was. "hey there!" he called out, hoping to get the other cats attention. "I'm stagleap, of lightclan."

the molly nodded in understanding as her fellow healer spoke. she could understand that. swancry always had a distaste for larger groups of cats, too, though after some time she had grown used to these kinds of clan gatherings. and besides, she'd never gone very far from the outskirts of the gathering either. there were always much too many cats there for her liking. "that makes sense." she said, nodding thoughtfully.

her brow furrowed in thought upon hearing glimpsebark's question. it was a pretty vague thing to ask, though thankfully there wasn't much going on in lightclan at the moment. "it's been alright. a bit tiring, being the only healer and all, but all good besides that." she said with a small nod. nothing notable had happened within the clan yet, which she was perfectly fine with. better than anything bad happening, anyway. "what about snowclan?"

pebblepaw couldn't help but think of how nice it must have been to join the clan with cats that she already knew. though she only vaguely recalled joining lightclan, she remembered that she had been on her own. there had only been a couple other members at the time, too. "I don't remember a lot about first joining lightclan. the clan had only just been founded, I'm pretty sure." the munchkin said with a small nod, trying to remember as much as she could about her first moons in lightclan. "I was pretty young, though. like, still a kit. that's why I don't remember very much." she said, giving her shoulders a small shrug. "what about you?" ebonypaw looked pretty young to the molly, had she joined as a kit, too? if she had joined when she was apprentice-aged, she couldn't imagine it being very long ago.

sea stride stepped forward, an look of genunine curiosity on his face. it was seldom that he ran into other groups outside of his own back at home, and there were already so many other cats gathered together in the area. he had only established his clan a few moons prior, meaning that this was his very first gathering. luckily for him, the young leader was easily able to keep track of the few other clan members he had brought along with him. the marina was still a fairly small group, after all, and only a handful of cats had volunteered to attend along with him this moon. not like he minded, the journey to the gathering had definitely been a long one, almost a full day's journey. but sea stride was eager to speak to other clans, which he had barely known of until just a few moons ago.

the molly nodded, a curious expression on her face. she had never even thought of trapping minnows, or any other small fish for that matter. it wasn't like there was much need to. the tiny creatures wouldn't feed many cats, after all. but gentle rain could still imagine it being entertainment for the younger cats in the clan, even if it didn't work well most of the time.

feeling a bit more at ease with her surroundings, the molly lifted her gaze from her paws. "there aren't any novices in our clan yet. I mean, we're still a pretty new clan. I only joined a couple moons back." gentle rain admitted, shifting her paws. though she had always lived by the ocean, she hadn't come across the small group of cats until just recently.

Feralstar gave a small disbelieving look; she was so sure that the leader's clan had been older. The silver tabby let out a sheepish laugh, "ah, I getcha." The leader shifted on her haunches, lifting a paw to her chin in thought. "Only about three moons; we're pretty new."
Soon after answering, the molly asked another question; "so, what's Lightclan like?"

Petrolhop nodded along as the healer spoke; she was fascinated by learning about other clans and just how different it was from her own. The gray-and-white feline returned a small giggle, "mud truly is the worst, isn't it?"

Lynxcry flicked their tail, repeating the young cat's name in their mind for a moment. "Fioled is a nice name," they complimented, hoping that they had pronounced it correct. The older warrior hesitated for a heartbeat, unsure if they wanted to delve into their memories. Eventually, they let out a small sigh, "memories of being young and carefree again, being an apprentice was much easier than being a warrior is."
"It also brings me memories of my parents; specifically my mother," they mewed, carefully pushing away the emotion that threatened to breakthrough. "I met my mother for the first time at my last gathering."

Blizzardchirp's ears perked upon hearing the older cat's question. The white she-cat briefly glanced away; while she tried to act as she had only drifted over here by chance, Blizzardchirp knew she had purposely wandered over to the gathered healers. She glanced back, giving a tiny twitch of her whiskers, "Well, I was looking for a medicine cat to talk to tonight." The warrior paused for a heartbeat, "I've been having doubts on whether or not being a warrior is the right path for me."

the apprentice tipped their head, raising a paw up to their chin. they could barely recall the journey from the island to the clearing, excitement clouding their memories. "pretty far! it took a longgg time to get here" they finally chirped, they didn't remember the journey exactly but they did remember how long it had taken. the apprentice giggled, "i'd say its pretty wet."
The apprentice perked up, "but its really nice! i haven't been in puddleclan for long but i've really enjoyed it so far." the colorpoint tilted their head, their optics widening, "what's pineclan like?"

"we live in a meadow," duckstar mewed. "it's a lovely place. the grass is green and the flowers are beautiful, especially in newleaf and greenleaf." she smiled. the clan was very fortunate to have found the place. "i've never been to a rainforest before. what is it like there?" she lived in a forest before, but not a rainforest. she wondered if she would ever be able to take a quick vacation someplace else. probably not, at least any time soon, since she was the leader now.

puddlepaw managed to convince duckstar not to bother him during the gathering and strode into the area confidently. he could still feel duckstar's worried stare on the back of his head, but tried to ignore her. he was nearly a warrior now! he didn't need her to follow him around all the time.

marchsnow nodded as he listened to watcher talk. he didn't think he'd like living on a farm too much, since he liked a quiet environment even if it wasn't very exciting, but it was fascinating to learn about. "duckclan's a pretty peaceful place, and there hasn't been much going on lately."

wispfur noticed her nervousness. was she nervous? wispfur didn't find themselves that intimidating, but tried to be gentle. "it's nice to meet you, foxpaw," they said softly. "how are you today?"

clovermouse watched the other cat leave, tilting his head to the side as he tried to understand what just happened, slightly confused and his head still whirling with questions. "bye!" he called after them before turning around. wow! what a conversation. he didn't know if he wanted to talk to someone else or spend the rest of the time processing.

sandpounce blinked. "hello!" he greeted the other cat, walking over to meet with him. lightclan! he remembered hearing about the clan from some of his clanmates. "sandpounce, of duckclan. pleasure to meet you!"

marsfang followed jayfur while trying to figure out what to say. should he ask about his clan? what did warriors talk about during gatherings? "you said you were from hazeclan, right?"

Textreader - Cis Female - 26M - Leader - Feralstar [WheatClan]/Coalstar [LightClan]
It seemed that the other two were also Leaders of very young Clans. LightClan had only had one Gathering before, and it appears that WheatClan was only 3 Moons old. When Coalstar asked her something, Textreader's ears flicked to lean backwards. She appeared to have gotten her hopes for not needing to speak to get information too high. Urgh, guess this is the law of equivalent exchange dictating that she must give something in return for what she had learned.

"You guys call your clans young? Mine's only been there two Moons." Textreader responded, making an attempt at what a lighthearted joke should be like. It was much harder for her around strangers than with her clanmates, but she thought she did fairly well.

Pancurse - Genderfluid AFAB - 37M - Medicine Cat - Open

Pancurse decided that if they didn't want to explode there and then from exasperation, she should disengage from conversation. And disengage he did. Muttering a few human cuss words under her breath that most likely isn't comprehendible to normal clan cats, she turned and stalked away, putting a few cats between herself and Clovermouse, and began to sulk.

Stripedhood frowned at where he figured the tom was. In reality, he was staring directly past Stormfang and somewhere into the crowd, just a little bit off. "Hey, RisingClan isn't like any conventional clan either. Like, what conventional clan has cats who read and discuss about books?" He muttered critically. Pizzastar grinned. "Of course, but the joy of retirement is getting to spend time with kittens and queens. All the young ones coming to you for advice, and stories, and learning. All the time spent with your loved ones, not having to worry about hunts or leading." She sighed. "I have so long to go, and so much work ahead of me before we retire."
Moonpie grinned wickedly and gave her wife a small lick on the cheek. "Yes, but think of all the fun we could have! More kits after our current apprentices grow up, more hunting patrols with friends, more annoying Rookspots, more time together!" She turned to Rookspots and let her smile grow warm. "I am sure you'll make a great decision, what about your first daughter, the one you were the mentor to? If she's picked up any lessons from you, I'm sure she'd make a great choice!"

Cinnamonpaw and Cayennepaw both sat by Stormpaw. Cinnamon yawned dramatically. "Well, it's nice, we live in a twoleg factory, where they used to make twoleg food. The dens are nice, and of course the roof is lovely, you can sit out on the green moss and look at our whole territory, with no danger of twoleggers."
Cayenne looked thoughtful. He frowned a bit, but then smiled. "Yeah! Except there's a few places where the floor is dangerous, but we don't go there and we're fine! When we found the hole, Pepper lost her leg, so I don't like goin' there! What's your clan like?"

Pepperpaw smiled politely at Fog, sitting slightly away from their siblings so the two could chat. "Thank you! I'm doing pretty good at my herbs, and I learned how to talk to starclan too! And I'm getting better at reading too, which Cinnamon doesn't like doing and Cayenne has problems with cuz of dyslexia, so I read to him lots when he asks!" Remembering that other clans didn't read, Pepper internally punched herself. "Uh, reading is like...twolegs throw away these colorful leaves, and the squiggles on the leaves mean things! Then you can look at them, and the squiggle the twoleg made, you can understand, and reading is just looking at the squiggles to see what the twoleg did!"
She picked up a stick and scrawled in the dirt Pepperpaw and Fogpaw. "See this is my name like a twoleg would write, and here is yours! What cool skills do you know?"

Cream made a face at the mention of mud. "Mud is icky! We have mud by Cocoaclan, but outside of patrols, not many cats go there. I have to go there with Tealeaf sometimes for herbs, because some only grow in mud. Our clan is nice though!" Cream of Wheat took on a defensive tone, mostly at herself for implying anything but. "We live in an abandoned twoleg place, Pizzastar said it was like a prey storage and making place for chocolate, whatever that is! But since it's big and enclosed, outside of patrols and hunts, leafbare isn't bad, just cold but we can cuddle!" Cream's eyes were lit up in love for her clan, so much that she didn't even notice she'd spoken correctly at all.

Fluffy sat back on her haunches, almost amused but mostly perplexed by the leader’s strange and intense reactions. “We are growing with each moon and recently welcomed a litter of kits, if that counts as thriving,” Fluffy shrugged, nonchalant. “We battle nearly every night with threats to our farm, though with strength in numbers none of the threats have been particularly harsh. Perhaps once Leafbare rolls back around, my statements could change, but yes, I can consider our clan lucky enough to thrive for the meantime.”

”it can be quite nice to have nothing going on,” Watcher reflected, almost wishful that they could have peace in their clan for just a couple moons. “It always feels like there’s way too much my leader has me do, while she herself goes off on her own... sometimes I wish I knew what she was doing” Watcher allowed themself a sigh, getting sidetracked. “Anyhow, maybe it would be cool to visit DuckClan one day. It sounds quite nice.”

Thunder found himself in awe of the naming traditions of VagaryClan. “That sounds really cool,” he muttered, mostly to himself. “I wonder what my warrior name would be...” Fluffy wasn’t known for interacting with her warriors often, and Thunder often wondered if his leader was able to even remember Thunder was a part of her clan. “Leafgale suits you, I think,” Thunder said with a tentative smile. “I like the way it sounds too...”

the molly shifted her paws, waiting for feralstar to give an answer. her ears perked upon hearing textreader speak, and she turned her head to face the other molly. while coalstar had directed her question at feralstar, textreader was more than welcome to join in their conversation. it has surprised her a bit, though, as a few moments ago the leader didn't seem very keen on talking to them at all. coalstar gave the black molly a small nod of acknowledgement, a small grin on her face. "looks like all of our clans are still fairly new, then." she said with a light chuckle.

she turned to face feralstar again, her head tilted slightly as she listened to the molly speak. what was lightclan like? she didn't know exactly how to respond at first, as the question itself was a bit vague and she didn't want to say the wrong thing. "hmm..." she hummed, deep in thought. "we live in a kind of meadow-y area with some sparse forests nearby, I know we have a few clans that border us. lightclan is still fairly small and we haven't established much yet, being a new clan and all, but we've managed to get by pretty well so far." she smiled as she spoke, proud that her clan had come so far already. "how about you both?"

the tom dipped his head in greeting as sandpounce approached him. "pleasure to meet you, too." he said, grinning as he spoke. his ears perked, vaguely remembering hearing the word duckclan before. maybe one of his clanmates had mentioned it when talking about a previous gathering that they had attended? as this was only stagleap's second gathering, he hadn't had much of a chance to meet many other clans. besides lightclan's borders and allies, of course, he knew very little about any of those kinds of groups. "duckclan, eh? what's it like over there?" the tom asked, his bobbed tail flicking behind him.

the molly nodded in understanding as her fellow healer spoke. she could understand that. swancry always had a distaste for larger groups of cats, too, though after some time she had grown used to these kinds of clan gatherings. and besides, she'd never gone very far from the outskirts of the gathering either. there were always much too many cats there for her liking. "that makes sense." she said, nodding thoughtfully.

her brow furrowed in thought upon hearing glimpsebark's question. it was a pretty vague thing to ask, though thankfully there wasn't much going on in lightclan at the moment. "it's been alright. a bit tiring, being the only healer and all, but all good besides that." she said with a small nod. nothing notable had happened within the clan yet, which she was perfectly fine with. better than anything bad happening, anyway. "what about snowclan?"

pebblepaw couldn't help but think of how nice it must have been to join the clan with cats that she already knew. though she only vaguely recalled joining lightclan, she remembered that she had been on her own. there had only been a couple other members at the time, too. "I don't remember a lot about first joining lightclan. the clan had only just been founded, I'm pretty sure." the munchkin said with a small nod, trying to remember as much as she could about her first moons in lightclan. "I was pretty young, though. like, still a kit. that's why I don't remember very much." she said, giving her shoulders a small shrug. "what about you?" ebonypaw looked pretty young to the molly, had she joined as a kit, too? if she had joined when she was apprentice-aged, she couldn't imagine it being very long ago.

sea stride stepped forward, an look of genunine curiosity on his face. it was seldom that he ran into other groups outside of his own back at home, and there were already so many other cats gathered together in the area. he had only established his clan a few moons prior, meaning that this was his very first gathering. luckily for him, the young leader was easily able to keep track of the few other clan members he had brought along with him. the marina was still a fairly small group, after all, and only a handful of cats had volunteered to attend along with him this moon. not like he minded, the journey to the gathering had definitely been a long one, almost a full day's journey. but sea stride was eager to speak to other clans, which he had barely known of until just a few moons ago.

the molly nodded, a curious expression on her face. she had never even thought of trapping minnows, or any other small fish for that matter. it wasn't like there was much need to. the tiny creatures wouldn't feed many cats, after all. but gentle rain could still imagine it being entertainment for the younger cats in the clan, even if it didn't work well most of the time.

feeling a bit more at ease with her surroundings, the molly lifted her gaze from her paws. "there aren't any novices in our clan yet. I mean, we're still a pretty new clan. I only joined a couple moons back." gentle rain admitted, shifting her paws. though she had always lived by the ocean, she hadn't come across the small group of cats until just recently.
