How much are they worth? Also how much is their animal egg worth?

(I value them a lot and I’ve got a couple trades for them)

animal eggs are worth an uncommon from the year they were released (2009 animal eggs are not included in this as they are worth more)

are androids generally more sought after than sorbs?

would it be a smart idea to swap a sorbet (green) for one of the androids - seeing as they're store pets, surely over the years their value will go up? or would it be better to hold onto the sorb?

Ultimately this would be up to personal preference - i.e., in my case I would likely prefer an android over a sorbet, but that may not be the case for others
You have the right idea by considering store pets as something that would eventually increase in value - what an android trades for now is not the same as five years ago and it is likely that the trading value will continue to change in the coming years, though perhaps not as drastically as in the past [as we haven't seen as big of a user spike in the past few years as we once had on the site which likely affected availability of older store pets]. There is no guarantee on how much rarer the pets would get - and it doesn't change the general rarity of sorbets either which is a steady amount based both in demand and rarity by their release dates/when they turned very rare+.

Since there's no way to get steady numbers on how many people prefer one over the other, I did do a cursory count of the successful trades thread. The following is the:
Total number of "pet" in all successful trades [in the first four pages of results] where the pet was received by the posting user...
A Sorb/Sorbet x x - 27 + 37 = 64
An Android x - 38

Total number of "pet" in all successful trades [in the first four pages of results] where the pet listed was traded away by the posting user...
A Sorb/Sorbet - 23 + 27 = 50
An Android - 24

[The sorbet information is split in two parts as the search results were combined between "sorb" and "sorbet". It is also worth restating here that I am counting number/quantity of the given pet within a trade rather than counting a completed trade as just 1 - I have omitted trades where a non-sorb pet was "valued as a sorb"]
I figured that this may help to show the frequency at which the pets are being traded away/sought after - though I realize that the frequency suggested by these numbers are affected by the quantity of the pets available on the site overall for trade [and as a consequence the information of that availability may also be of importance for you as well in considering which is "more sought after"] ^^

Since the terminology you're using is from the Condensed CS Rarity List, I'll be using the terms presented there (supplemented by the Guide to CS Rarities for my response) ^^
The Red Butterbun is cited as having been very rare from its time of release in Easter 2009 x - as a result, purely by rarity the pet is considered the same in value as other pets which turned very rare in the same manner including (but not limited to) the CEG, Blue Balloon, Rose PPS, and White Malk Dragon x x. In general trades, demand effects the value of the pet and successful trades suggest that the pet is most consistently valued at around a MA [7-8 '09 rares] x
By the Condensed Rarity List, the pet is listed under the "Blue Balloon Tier" under the "'main' list" category - comparatively, the Spider Butterfly Wolf is categorized as a Mid October in the "'october' list", which suggests that by rarity the butterbun is worth reasonably more than the butterfly wolf.
The Spider Butterfly Wolf first turned very rare in November 2012 x, roughly two and a half years after the butterbun turned the same rarity - by purely rarity, the bwolf would be a fair swap for other pets which turned very rare at a similar time including the Pumpkin Butterfly Wolf, the Green Poison Dart Frog Butterfly Wolf, and the Pink Skull Bunny x. There are unfortunately no successful trades for the Butterfly wolf, but because of how early the pet turned very rare compared to many pets, the pet is likely worth more than just the three month rule or 2 '09 rares - it is likely worth between 3-5+ '09 rares.

tldr [because I tend to be long-winded]; the red butterbun is valued at around a MA while the spider bwolf (spiderwing butterfly wolf) is worth slightly less, the bwolf side would likely need to add to make the trade fully fair ^^
[also, while there are some individuals who place higher preference on true date pets, re-release pets are technically worth the same as true dates so any impact the release date would have on demand would be up to trading users]

The Pink Sparkler Rat first turned very rare in July 2013 x - as a result, the pet would be a fair swap for other pets which turned very rare at a similar time including *but not limited to) the Bleeding Heart Cat and the Nick Sunback.
By the Condensed Rarity List, the Pink Sparkler Rat is listed as a "Low October" on the "'october' list" x which would place the pet worth by purely rarity above the three month rule or 2 '09 rares, likely between ~3-4 '09 rares - comparatively a MA is 7-8 '09 rares while a non is 100-150 '09 rares. It is worth mentioning that not everyone follows rarity guidelines for trading, and you may find that some people consider the pet as worth the same as most other '09 very rares (making it worth the three month rule or 2 '09 rares).

The second rat, the Dark Grey Fluffy Rat is not on the "'october' list" as the pet first turned very rare in the 2019 rarity update x - this rat is worth the three month rule or 2 '09 rares.

The Sunback has fluctuated to the omg so rare value twice since its release, first in 2013 and again in 2019 x - while the rarity value for the pet is largely determined by when it last adjusted rarity labels, the pet has consistently fetched high demand value beyond pets which turned very rare at a similar time x
The pet most consistently trades for 3-4 nons, often settling at around 3.5 nons x
