History
Early Childhood (0-9)
Masaru never knew their parents and was raised in a children’s home. He was always quiet and kept to themself, but was still happy. He loved reading, bugs, being outside, and nature. He also loved plush toys and blankets. Though, blankets were sometimes hard to snuggle with, due to his thick fur.
Late Childhood and Early Adolescence (10-13)
This time in life is often when social life blossoms. Unfortunately, this did not go well for Masaru. Due to his shy and quiet nature, they became a target for bullying. The bullies picked apart everything, like hungry vultures to a carcass. They insulted his interests, his personality, this coat colors, and his body type. This affected Masaru, deeply.
Teenage Years (14-16)
Due to the unkindness they had experienced, Masaru because even more reclusive. They were no longer just a little shy and awkward, but instead genuinely fearful when it came to socializing. He felt “wrong”, now. Like he wasn’t good enough. They were so scared of coming out of the shell they had been shoved in. They were so uncomfortable in their own body, he just sort of...wanted to disappear into his own world. He didn’t want to be this way anymore, though. He didn't want to be sad. He would change it.
The Last Two Years (17-now)
Adjusting and changing after a long period of depression can be hard, but Masaru was ready to take that on. He worked at himself, and refused to give up. They had spent almost half their life sad, he was not going to spend anymore of it that way. He learned to love everything he was implied not to. He loves himself; his awkwardness, his gentleness, his body, his weirdness, everything. And he will never, ever, let anyone tell him he shouldn’t. They’re happy, weird, and absolutely loving life.
