Literally posting just to say that my parents found and brought me the Sanrio Amiibo cards the day that they were released.

I was scared that I wouldn’t get them but my parents came in clutch. (^ U ^)

I wish NH had mini games like last AC games. I enjoyed the island tours and the little game consoles with desert island escape and puzzle league. Sure we gained customization on new horizons but we lost villager personalities, some of the most loved npcs (brewster, the pelicans, katrina, resetti), and the mini games. I hope they add some of this stuff in in the future.

^ Yeah I miss a lot of stuff from older games. I like new horizons but it doesn’t really feel like a community, but more like a doll house. Once I’m done decorating my island for the third time I might go back to new leaf.

I missed out because my local target wouldn’t take pickup orders for them... even though that was SUPPOSE to be the only way to get them (they claimed you wouldn’t be able to buy them in store if you didn’t buy them as pick up). While I really wanted a pack I wasn’t about to go in the store since I’m not vaccinated yet and people don’t respect your bubble where I live. Yeah, I’m a touch salty. I’m going to be cross if Nintendo doesn’t restock. I refuse to give scalpers money for them, especially since fakes are super easy to make. >_>

^ Ah thank you, that’s so sweet of you to offer. I have them scanned though I don’t own the cards. I just think they are really cute and want the cards for my collection.

I would have been soooo much more upset if I had no way of getting Chai since I named my island Melotea. I plan on getting Tia at some point to. I’m going to make them neighbors and make a little tea shop between their houses. <3

The demand probably wasn’t as high because new leaf had been out for 4-5ish years. New horizons has only been out a year and still has a lot of active people playing.

It was a mixture of Nintendo not making enough to meet demand, target breaking their own rules on how to sell them, and scalpers.

I feel like scalpers have been worse lately? Almost everything remotely popular sells out in seconds. There’s noooo way there is that many die hard AC fans that know to buy something day 1 in my area.

amiibo collecting was still popular tho, cards where hard to come by (s1 i jus got them when i saw them s2 was the same but i ordered boxes for 3 ,4 and the camper one and of course had to order sanrino). but even then i didnt see many people on the amiibo swap groups trying to get sanrino ones back then , now they are all trying to get the two japan only cards using them (i dout that will happen the jpn only cards are worth way more)

I'v seen the stuff about what target US did , in aus i think the only place that got the cards where ebgames ,not sure what happened with them but i think they pre-ordered out but cant be sure (they just stoped offering to order them for me XD every time i went in they would ask if i wanted to order the cards)

i think your right to be honest , but it could be just karens trying to make money or somthing. i collect squishmellows and the scalpers be fast, the other day somone posted a local store had 2 of the high demand easter ones and a few others in the 30 mins it took me to get to the store the 2 high demands where gone and a few of the ones i was after had gone as well (but i did get it) iv seen storys of them blocking the shelfs and grabbing all the squishmellows in stock not allowing people with kids to get any!

i'm hoping the scalpers won't get all the build-a-bear skins when they come out,im keeping an eye out for when they annouce who is being made and ill be ordering them the second i can ,iv done builderbear collecting before so i got my fingers crossed i get them

Where I lived the only cards I had trouble with finding was the welcome amiibo cards (I have 40 and I think 6 extra characters so I got pretty lucky with my draws). Even I could still buy them for around a month or so. The other series I would just buy casually whenever I’d see them in stores. Heck I even got discounts on most of the normal series because that was back when toys r us was going out of business.

These though? They sold out nation wide within a hour. I woke up 10 minutes before the sale went live. I tried placing an order but their website was acting buggy. Then they locked you from being able to even try placing an order for pickup, forcing you to go into the store. I heard they didn’t even enforce the two per customer rule. A few people probably bought out the entire stock in my area. I didn’t even have trouble getting the Pokémon 20th anniversary plushies I wanted. Heck I even got mew and he was one of the rarer ones since each GameStop only got 1-2 per store.

Oh it’s definitely “Karens”. You need a certain personality to do something so scummy. It doesn’t help that people reward the behavior by buying from them. If people just boycott buying from those who do this the issue would solve itself...
