ivi cabin one, outside. "he is," others experience of felix tended to be rather different to orin. where it was evident that they had a close relationship with one another - though very temperamental at the times - he was aware that not many people could quite figure out why. these two campers who, in all senses, appeared to have nothing but disdain for one another, spending countless hours in each others presence. by all means, they should have been enemies. unfortunately, so much was not the case. "he's well. still annoying." a little laugh at the question of boys smelling naturally. he shook his head. "yeah. we all stink. every one of us is humming."
no rest, but a shower, yes. "i'll catch you later," a little smile, a brief nod. and then he was standing, though a little shakily, walking in the direction of the showers. "don't get beheaded anytime soon. be really annoying if you die."
once he reached the shower and got to work getting the smell of blood and sweat off of him, he had a bit of time to think. felix being back really put a spanner in the works of pretending as though everything was peachy. it was making it all rather difficult, and yet he remained thankful for it.
it was a short shower, and once out and dried off to a reasonable extent, he headed back into the world. the wicked didn't need rest, and he wasn't going to be one-upped by the wicked.
( *:・゚✦ ) xx❝xx 𝐥𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐳 !! x─────ix ♘x──────i ii ares. iii eighteen. iiii tags: lucy, aiden (mentioned). ivi outside, cabin circle. of course it was going to be aiden. it couldn't have been anyone else, not with his luck. leo's mouth thinned into a straight line, but he swallowed his equally vast and minuscule pride and nodded. this was about more than petty thought. if he could just pass it to him without conversation, that would be ideal. he didn't need the continuation of whatever he was attempting to get across at zeus' fist. it hadn't worked. it wasn't going to. "okay, cool," he nodded.
they reached cabin seven. he lingered, waited, and after a bit of waiting, a face popped from the door. dante, his name might have been, only recalled because of the inferno. "thanks," he said, noting that he was rather quick to disappear back into the cabin. that was fair enough.
he looked down at the paper in his hands, flipping it over a couple of times. a delivery. he had thought he'd be used for more than just the messenger pigeon, but he supposed it made things a touch more civilised.
looking around for a moment had leo's eyes catching on the son of athena. he was halfway to reaching him when he realised that aiden was mid-conversation with someone, and stopped awkwardly, looking down at the envelope once more. if it had been a loose leaf of paper, he would have had the chance to fashion it into a paper airplane and throw it - but that was not the case. lucy had had to make it into a spectacle of formality. a sigh escaped him. maybe him speaking to someone else would make the passover of the message easier. maybe it would just make it more awkward, having a witness to the verbal beating that he had become certain was around the corner.
he had been standing awkwardly in the cabin circle for a while, deep in thought. the cold was making his hands hurt. this was not looking to get much better.

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|outside cabins|tags: Jen, LeoAuggie eyed the child of Demeter curiously. They didn’t seem too pleased with her question, and seemed distracted from the conversation, like they weren’t really paying attention to her when they were the one who had approached her in the first place. She narrowed her eyes at the sardonic response, being reminded once again why she usually chose not to interact with the other campers. They were temperamental for no reason. August simply raised an eyebrow in response to the nod, not bothering to reply as she watched her go, and not bothering to stop an eye roll as she turned the other way.
She stopped in her tracks abruptly, having almost turned around directly into someone who seemed to just be standing there pointlessly. A biting remark was already on her tongue, one that faded as she looked up to see the aforementioned son of Ares. Surprise flashed across her expression briefly, but was quickly replaced with a look of anger, something much colder and harsher than her usual stony gaze—something that ran a lot deeper than the mask. “You…” She said the word like it left a foul taste in her mouth, like simply being in Leo’s presence made her sick.
She wasn’t going to start another fight, no matter how much she wanted to drive her fist into his face again, she knew it was a bad idea. There were too many people around, and there were bigger things to worry about. As annoyed as she had been by the use of charmspeak earlier, the words of the Aphrodite head counsellor still echoed in her head, the reminder that they were under attack and that fighting each other wasn’t going to help anything.
Despite all of that, she was still curious. Orin had said he hadn’t done anything to provoke Leo, and she believed him, but he still had to have some reason for doing it. “What’s your deal, man?” The words were out of her mouth before she had a chance to think about them, the barely suppressed fury evident in her tone, though she was managing to keep it under control for the time being. “What the hell was that about earlier? Do you just go around beating people up for fun?” She glared up at him defiantly, clearly undaunted by the height difference or the fact that he’d given her a cracked rib within the last hour.[➳]Caleb Thomas|18|he/him|Athena|outside cabins|Tags:Chuck“Right?” he nodded in over-dramatic agreement to the comment about his hair. “Bloody criminal.” He grinned as the satyr shook his fist at the sky, yelling threats at the clouds or whoever was in control of them. There were quite a few people milling about the cabins area, he could see that from a quick glance, but he wasn’t sure if the yell had actually drawn any attention to them, the other campers all seemed consumed in their own thoughts and worries.
He nodded in response to Chuck’s words, his face splitting into a grin at the congratulations offered. “Yeah, thanks, man.” He managed to contain the fit of laughter that threatened to spill out at the absurdity of the situation—at the fact that Chuck actually still believed him. He wasn’t about to give it away now. “Not sure you typically invite guests when you elope, but if we do you’ll be the first to know,” he promised, giving a nod as the satyr made his way off.

she appeared about as happy to see him as he would have expected, and stared blankly down. there was fury in her eyes, fury that he had long since let dissipate into the air with the smell of blood and sweat and tears. "me," he said, as though she was looking for confirmation.
his deal? "my deal?" his brow knitted together in thought, tapping the envelope against his hand. "uh, 'buy-one-get-one-free' probably works. or 'half-off on tuesdays'. i like those two. otherwise, i've got no idea," he wasn't taking her seriously. perhaps dangerous, given the flames behind her eyes and the following question, but his mind was somewhere else, wandering around bizzarely. the news about orin, the fact that she seemed so protective of him - was she in on the plan as well? was she being manipulated by the son of zeus? "not for fun. it's hardly fun. it's just..." it was easier to paint himself as a brute than someone who was troubled. "something to do, isn't it? you seemed pretty happy to get involved in it. i'm not the only one who likes to take a swing when the opportunity arrives, am i? i just... make more opportunities for myself. i'm innovative like that."
with his free hand, he scratched the back of his neck. "i've got nothing against you. you were just there. and he wasn't throwing any punches, so you were the next best thing. it really worked. i feel like there's a weight off my shoulders. thanks," there was a bit of sarcasm in his tone. "but if you're looking for a round two, i think i'll hold off for a while. might get a reputation."

| 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: cabin circle--> forge | tags: Will, Caleb | mentions: Caleb, Chuck Reese shuffled past the central fire, but a movement over his shoulder caught his attention. Caleb. Speak of the devil. Reese paused a moment, swept away by the irritatingly there thoughts he was now noticing for what they were. Reese ground his teeth together, the newness of it all clinging to his skin and his head giving him a headache, because oh my lord it is obvious, is it not? Caleb was joined by a scrawny satyr. Reese recalled him from a few infirmary visits. Mira's friend.
Reese realized that he had been staring, and turned a shade of red that was not from the cold. Dammit, now Auggie will have some actual coals to toast me over. He winced and turned away, making to continue with his courier duties, but something the satyr said caught his attention once more. Engagement. His stomach turned, and he picked up the pace, as if moving would lay his buzzing mind to rest.
It was no use. Reese tightened his grip on the letters. You have no right to feel betrayed. Heck, you should feel guilty. He told himself. You can't be interested in someone's fiancé that way. It is inconsiderate, and rude and wrong. He plowed through the snow, not bothering to lift his feet to avoid getting it in his boots.
Reese felt the anger rising, and his powers with it. Instead of pushing it outwardly as he had earlier, he focused on the carpals in his left hand, popping them around eachother, letting the pain bring him back to reality and sharpen his resolve. Deliver Mira's letters. Forget him. When you have a chance, find a quiet place to reconstruct. This is a perfect opportunity to hone your powers, see? He swallowed.
When he arrived at the forge door, he was less than convinced. He stood a moment, blinking as if suprised to be there already. It was not far off. He had not seen a single other person on the way, so dead to the world he had been. He shifted his weigh, popping his carpals back into their respective places.
He rapped lightly on the entrance beam, then squared himself up and walked in. "Pardon me, I have a delivery for Will," He called gently, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the light. Mira did not write a last name, what if there is more than one? Will is not an uncommon moniker, it does not have to be the Will I know... He stepped further in, scanning the room as he adjusted to the lighting.

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|outside cabins|tags: LeoIt hadn’t exactly been a rhetorical question, but she hadn’t expected him to stop and consider it in the way that he did. The answer that came was even less expected, one that caused her jaw to clench, the annoyance in her cold gaze only increasing with every word. She could shut him up. She could drive a fist right into his face and shut him up. She wanted to do it. Everything in her was screaming to raise her arm, to take a swing, but she didn’t. She wasn’t going to be that person again, not now. “Hilarious,” she managed to bite out instead, tone implying she thought quite the opposite of his little jest.
“I wasn’t…” She narrowed her eyes at his explanation, not happy with the fact that he seemed to be comparing himself to her. She had run in without thinking. She had gone for him without any sort of hesitation, but that had been entirely different. “I’m not like you.”
Her nails were digging little half moons into her palms, red marks that almost matched the dark one on her wrist, knuckles white with clenched fists at her sides. She crossed her arms, unable to stop the movement, as if her body was filled up with a pent up energy, one that was struggling without the release of throwing another punch at the son of Ares. “I didn’t ask if you had anything against me.” Half the kids at camp did, she didn’t care about that. She wasn’t sure what she did care about—why he’d angered her enough that she was confronting him a second time. She vaguely recalled threatening to kill him. That idea hadn’t exactly dissipated. She rolled her eyes at the next comment. “Gods forbid,” she muttered drily.
She narrowed her eyes at him, seeming to consider for a moment. “I’d tell you to watch yourself, but I think you already got told off by the pint-sized counsellor, didn’t you?” There was something dangerous in her tone, a challenge. She hadn’t really been paying much attention to what happened to Leo once Mira had called them off each other, but she vaguely recalled Aiden marching him away. “So I’ll do you a favour and not bother.” She made to move past him, bumping her shoulder into him as she did so, a little harder than could have been passed off as an accident.

| 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Cabin circle | tags: [Izzy], Jack, Aiden [Wayfinder] Hank just laughed, leaning forward to ruffle Aiden's dark locks. Aiden was right, as much as. Hank would protest it. "Thanks for the knighting, but isn't there usually a sword involved?" He asked, a hand sliding to the hunting blade on his thigh. Keep this light, he doesn't need to be any more stressed. He told himself. He almost pulled the celestial bronze blade out to out to hand to Aiden, but thought better of it when Aiden became even more somber. He let his hand fall.
Hank had never been on his own, he'd always leaned into whatever help was given, both because he needed it and he craved the interaction that went along with it. There was a good chance that the rest of the camp thought he was lazy, or incapable, but he couldn't help himself. I can't imagine doing any of this alone. "You know," He swallowed. "It's temporary. I'll be a stoic knight while you're gone, guarding the castle for you and being your doorkeeper, but when you come home, " When. Not if. "I'll, I'll make the biggest damn mess you've ever seen, and you'd better be here to clean it up!" He finished in a rush, shoving them out before they had a chance to catch in his throat. The thought of Aiden not making it back felt absurd, but maybe absurd enough to be true. The kid was a whizz, but he was still, well, a kid.

| 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Strawberry fields--> Forge--->Between Big House ruins and creek | tags: Aydan, Celeste | mentions: Mirabelle Ophelia's hand felt colder than it had any right to be with the absense of Aydan's and she itched to take it back. No. Instead she frowned and clutched at her sleeve with her chilly fingers. She already knew that they would burn later when the circulation came back. She glared over the frosted field, letting the fat flakes that were still falling collect on her hair and lashes. She blinked, and the icy specks were already gone. The wind picked up, the strawberry field a perfect winter wonderland... if it hadn't been the middle of June.
"Where to next?" Aydan, Celeste, tour! They'd been standing too long. She pulled herself away from the view and turned to the boy, a smile softening out her face. Gods, we all look so small, too small to be caught up in this mess. Even Celeste was only what, in her 20's? The gods have all the time in the world, yet they chose to waste ours. It's nice to know right where we stand. She slid her hand free from Celeste's gently, moving to take the lead. Time to shine, come on princess. "Like I mentioned earlier, the forge," she waved a hand at the open air building, heat from it melting the surrounding snow. She skirted close to it, in part for warmth, and in part to avoid the snow blanketed lumps that stood in place of the Big House. A few campers milled about on pegasi. Questers. She swallowed, the ache in her chest rising.
Shhh, Mira's...she's Mira, she'll be okay. She tore her gaze from them, too late to avoid noticing that Mira had yet to arrive with the skittish mare she favored. Yeah sweetheart, how many do you think will come back? She'll throw herself at everything, being a human shield. Ophelia gritted her teeth, glaring forward as she shoved past the rubble. Mira. Will. Be. Fine.
She tore a path through the snow, blinking hard at a sudden prickliness in her eyes. Tour, my sweet princess. Or are you just as dumb as you act. She inhaled sharply and slowed herself. Turning to the pair and spreading her arms theatrically as they reached the stream that crossed camp. "Arts and crafts, along with the volleyball courts. Not a lot of use for them at the moment, kind of," She paused, composure breaking a moment as she shuffled herself into gear. "General areas, I'm sure you'll find a use for them," She shrugged, adding, "If you want to." She turned to get moving once more, then turned over her shoulder, a smirk lighting up her face. "Ready for this one, oh fair lord of the lake?" She didn't wait for a reply before throwing her shoulders into it and shoving onward.
It was, afterall, better than facing the maelstorm of thoughts in the back of her mind. Much better.

Sabrina had flinched when the girl had nearly ran into her but she became to calm down when she had introduced herself. Can't really blame her for being excited. I do that all the time. "It's no biggie!" Before she said anything else, she had taken one second - she hoped she hadn't noticed - to scan her. She seemed friendly, probably not a threat. And this was a nice gesture. So she didn't see quite the harm in being polite. Grinning, Sabrina shook her hand and said, "Sabrina Okawa, at your service! You can call me Bree though," she quickly added. It wasn't really a nickname she had used a lot but when she looked around Camp Half-Blood, that nickname was all she could think of. Reminded her about the forests and the wilderness. She bit her tongue. There was no time to dwell in the past. She was in a conversation for Christ's sake.
"So," Sabrina said, "do you throw any karaoke parties here?" She joked, putting her hands in her hoodie pockets. "I mean, there is a Greek god of parties, right? Or was it theatre? His name..." She scratched her chin, trying to think, but she had gotten distracted by a slight cold breeze in the air. She shivered. "What's with the weather? I didn't think New York would be this freezing! Especially in the summer," Sabrina put in. She glanced around her surroundings and her eyes widened. How could she have not seen the winter wonderland right in front of her nose? She must have been too overwhelmed... (edit; not sure if the camp has snow or snow falling currently, please tell me if i need to edit anything haha)

Will busied himself pumping the bellows of the forge when the next question came. He suppressed a dry chuckle, releasing a sigh instead. "Unreal don't even begin to do it justice. Y'can't pretend it's normal, try as you might." He remembered the day his step-father found out the truth of his heritage; John was a remarkably tolerant fellow, but even he was at a loss for words when the word "demigod" floated out into the air. "It ain't normal, and the lack of normalcy leads t' monsters n chaos. Normal folk ain't ready for it, so it's our job to protect 'em." With the forge ideally heated, Will planted one of the Celestial Bronze ingots into its fiery center, seeming unfazed by the heat. Will rolled up his sleeves previously as a precaution.

ivi big house ruins. jude was late.
it had been the big gathering first. the annual leaving party before she went off to camp. only some of the family understood what she was heading off to do, the rest allowing their ignorance for the sake of an excuse to have a drink and dance to old music that blared through the creaking house. that had been two nights ago.
and then one morning ago, they overslept. every single one of them overslept. the flight missed, rebooked, and the party had continued. she can't have been missing much, she had thought. the first capture the flag game of the summer was lost to her, which was a shame, but not too much.
so in the morning, when they caught their plane, she thought nothing of it. the strange conditions of new york, the snow, that was all able to be explained away. her dads were nervous. they often were. any strange scratch or distant noise was a monster to them. their house was decked in hidden weapons, all crafted by her, gifted to them on birthdays and father's day alike. it was a nice deal.
landing was difficult, but manageable, and after customs and the general checks, they were in new york, catching a cab. vicky hadn't wanted to go with the grey sisters, because carly always ended up threatening to have a scrap with them. so a mortal taxi was to take them to camp half-blood.
and then it broke down, and jude had to fix it on the side of the highway, the driver looking not so much stunned as he was pleased to be given a free service. back on the road.
the radio was playing. it was soft. a name, malcolm something, and then, like the loudest thing on the planet, the word 'demigods'.
jude was silent. vicky was silent. carly was twitching with something akin to rage.
"you heard about this? he's a mental case," said the driver, turning it up. "brits."
"jude," vicky whispered. she turned to him, her youngest dad - a funny way to rank them, but fitting nonetheless. "maybe camp isn't..."
"i'm going," she said, certainty in her voice.
"she'll be fine," carly added. the driver looked vaguely suspicious, but said nothing as they turned into long island.
"i'll be fine. it's just jupiter. can't be much more than that. if there's any more, then... you know, i'll let you know," a smile seemed to stem vicky's anxiety a touch. the voice on the radio changed to a song, and he began to sing it under his breath. a distraction of sorts.
they pulled up as close as they could. the driver was confused - saw nothing of note for her to be left by, but once again said nothing. she supposed he didn't mind, given that she had revamped his engine, and allowed them to say their brief goodbyes.
"write," carly ordered, handing her suitcase over.
"obviously," another grin. the weather was awful, there was a man on the radio who knew about demigods, but she was still so pleased to have returned to her favourite place on the planet. "love you. both of you."
off she ran, her feet carrying her over half-blood hill, past the peak, where she turned to wave at them as they drove off, and finally, her eyes landed on the inside of camp.
notably, the big house. what remained of it, at least.
jude's jaw dropped. the run became a slow walk, scoping out the damages - which were immense.
perhaps she had missed a little more than the first game of capture the flag.

| 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Big House Ruins | tags: Skylar, Laurel | mentions: Aggy folded her arms and glared at Laurel. Who gave you the right to be so happy? Does she not know she's standing on bloodied ground? Aggy mused, before opening her mouth to fire off a remark. "If you're a sky princess or whatever, why do you need those?" She gestured at the pegasi around Laurel. She didn't know the exact terms for it, but she had heard that the 'Zeus' kids had wind powers, so it wasn't too far off. And if it was? Well, that was half the fun.
It would, of course, be more offensive if she could get right up in the girl's face, but her perch on the pegasus did allow her the perfect angle to look down her nose at Laurel. She took advantage of this, jutting out her chin and blinking innocently. "Can't you fly, or is that only for the important Zeus kids?" She asked, voice loud enough to be heard by Skylar and any chance passerby. She smiled sweetly, all too aware of her sharp intent.
