Spiders are not misunderstood, but people are afraid of them and often have phobias, apparently because of their quick, unpredictable movements, their tendency to bite, and their appearance, which even I find disturbing.
Spiders can also kill people, and yes, wolves can, but not in the silent way that spiders do. When people accidentally step or touch a venomous spider, they will bite, because they do not really make decisions whether to hurt someone or not. It is all about defending themselves, and they will not hesitate to bite something that is threatening them.
So no, spider's are not misunderstood, they are feared, and to most people, because of their appearance.

Every animal can choose to attack or not. It's not like they just go 'omg hyooman rawr' like they can't help it, lol. Whether it be out of defense, in search of food, or simply 'let's play oops there goes your face', there is a choice being made.
All animals have a mind of their own XD

And you contradicted yourself, you said wolves were misunderstood because they were feared. So, spiders are misunderstood because they are feared as well.
Wolves are much more capable to make decisions than spiders are, and most choose to flee than attack, spiders are all based on instinct, they do not make decisions on their own.
Spiders are feared, and so are wolves, but spiders are not misunderstood because they have killed people and the person that was bitten couldn't of avoided the spider. With the right movements, people can save themselves against wolves, but most panic for the mere fact that this is a wolf, and wolves are "evil" because of all the myths and stories that they have been told, so if everyone fears them, why shouldn't they? There must be a good reason for themselves to believe that wolves are evil if everyone else believes it.
People are like sheep, following the other and rarely making decisions for themselves.

Spiders ARE misunderstood. Not ALL spiders are using their instinct to attack people. So what you said wasn't really true. Every spider knows what their doing. It's not like their sharks, who will go crazy when sharks smell blood. If they didn't know what they were doing, how would they know how to make complicated webs, when humans would not hurt them, or when flies came onto their web? I saw a video in class about a spider expert, and even a trauntula crawled on him without harming him. Why? Because the spider knew he wouldn't harm them. And they have bad reputations. We even once saw a video about a enormous spider destroying a town. And their looks? Makes it even worse.
