My 6 month old kitten is so attached to me that she cries incessantly every time I close a door (bathroom, bedroom, etc.) I read you're supposed to ignore the attention-seeking behavior, and to NEVER open a door when she's crying, but it hasn't helped at all. I'm home with her all day (except errands) so she gets all the love, attention, playtime, and exercise a cat could possibly want. I do make her sleep in a separate room at night with her sister so I can get some sleep (otherwise she cries outside my bedroom door all night long OR if she's in the room, she's very disruptive).
Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.
I don't know if there can be much done about that. I've found that cats hate having a part of their "territory" blocked off for them, such as a closed door will probably just make them more curious about what's going on behind it. And it also seems pretty common for cats to want to join their humans in closed off rooms. One of mine always begs to be let into the bathroom while I'm taking a bath, and when I let her in, she just chills on the pile of towels. Is there any reason in particular why you'd want her to not be attached?
Maybe she doesn't have enough to do on her own. You could try making some toys that she can play with on her own, such as a toy hanging on a stretchy string, or
something like these, or make her a perch by a window if she likes to watch the outside or something. But it sounds like she simply prefers to have humans around.

I've got the same problem with my kitten, he's about 7 months old now and his name is Leonardo, Leo for short. He's a domestic shorthair kitten and is wildly attached to me. I was told that maybe it's just kitten attachment and I should brush it off, but I can't help but snuggle the little guy ;;

I have two cats in my house. One is mine, her name is Clover. The other one belongs to my son, and her name is Tigress. Clover is sitting in my lap at this very moment, purring up a storm! Tigress is still asleep, she sleeps a lot. I'd show you pictures of their beautiful selves, but I don't know how to post pictures here.

Unless you have a reason for not wanting her to be attached to you, I don't think you need to stop her. I also don't think ignoring cats works long term, it just makes them act out more for attention. She'll more than likely get better as she ages, my cat was also like that as a kitten. Let her follow you around and see what you're doing and include her in any safe activities. Cooking time is a favorite for yuki, even if she only gets to sniff the ingredients instead of eating them. Try to have floor time with her where you do whatever she wants to do, whether that be playing or sleeping, it's a nice bonding experience. For the disruptiveness at night, food puzzles are great. They're easy to make at home with pretty much anything, and they can keep a cat busy for a while. Only do this a few times a week max though, and don't give her one when she's already being disruptive. Also, play an intense, high energy game with her before bed so she'll be tired out by the time you're ready to sleep.
That's p much everything that's helped me with yuki --

Cats really don't like closed doors, I imagine it's something about a part of their territory or their belongings (or their humans) being unavailable to them, and I can see how that would be frustrating.

If your house has a basement or second floor you could try putting the litter box on one flour and then the food bowl/water on another so they have to go up and down stairs more regularly, this way they work out and you don't have to be present for it (since you mentioned being busy).

You really have to be careful with making them walk far to get to the litterbox, though. I've heard some people suggest that you should have a litterbox on every floor of the building, and always in places where the cats won't get locked out by accident (such as someone closing a basement door), simply to prevent them from pooping or peeing someplace you wouldn't want them to.

Definitely talk to a vet before anything else
If you're feeding them dry, look into switching them to a good quality wet food and put them on a feeding schedule-
and of course, keep up with the exercise
