I don't support this.
I actually wish there was a "delete multiple pets," option. CS is saturated with unwanted common pets. I struggle to get people to take them for free sometimes. Also if everyone deleted the pets they didn't need the overall value goes up slightly which is a win.

If I ever quit Id rather be able to delete the pets than do a feeding frenzy giveaway or send them to the pound where they'll rot for years before being adoptable again.
Any I knew were originally gifts Id try and give away though
Im pretty sure every pet site has some sort of delete option
Edit: Basically what I mean is you should have the freedom to choose what you want to do with pets you don't need/want
I agree with this. People should have the freedom to choose.

I don't remember what I said here last time but I completely support it removed or changed to transfer to pound.
As of recent I discovered that if I don't like the name tied to the trade in which I got the pet I can do a swap with someone I trust and fix that problem.
Initially that was my only argument to keep delete pet.
So yeah, I'm supporting.

I can see why people don't want them, but I also feel saying "People should have the freedom to do whatever they want with their pets." is a bit closed minded because if that's the case then why can't this be an option?
if anything a compromise where they add a button called "transfer to pound" along with having the delete the pet option would be optimal as to not offend those people who disagree.

i love this, since deleting pets seems to be split 50/50 between users

From what I can tell no one really deletes pets under normal circumstances? But I can also see why it’s hindering to not have that choice. And like said from the others, it wouldn’t really affect rarity unless you’re mass deleting (if that’s possible).
But I agree with Lex. on creating the ‘transfer/abandon/donate’ option and leaving the delete one alone
I disagree. I have seen many people decide to delete their pets because they don’t want them or because they are being petty (such was the case for the 2 skelebuns that got deleted).
^^^
{Agreed. Just about every instance that I personally have seen of people deleting pets, they have done it because they "couldn't get rid of" a pet that "no one wanted," [for example, some users on the old trade rant threads deleted list rats because they couldn't get pets they wanted out of it] even though there is always someone who will want every pet out there. There's collectors, people who hoard common and under pets, people who hoard low demand pets, not to mention the constant flood of people who pick up "unwanted" pets from adoption centers. There isn't a reason to keep a delete option when people do it just because they "can't get rid of" something and can't be bothered to send it to the Pound or an adoption center.}
{I'd definitely prefer the delete option to be removed entirely, however I will agree that if compromise is the only option then simply adding a Pound transfer button alongside the delete is a good choice. If that's the case I hope the delete option will be moved to the bottom of the list...just so I stop hitting it every time I want to rename an individual pet.}
