Feral trotted through the snow, occasionally lifting her paw to shake off the snow that clung to it. Despite her dislike of the snow, her rumbling belly forced her to brave the cold. The feline held back a groan, she had been out all day yet still couldn’t find a trace of prey. She thought about turning back and going home before it got too dark, but before she could act on it she finally picked on a trail. The warrior crouched down, quietly slinking through the trees.
Her target, a young rabbit, stood out against the snow like a sore thumb even in the dark. Feral narrowed her blue eyes on the rabbit, quietly approaching before stopping a few whiskers lengths away from it. Just as the molly was about to launch herself from the bush, the bitter wind lashed towards the rabbit, sending her scent straight to the rabbit. The rabbit raised its narrow head, frozen for a moment before dashing from its spot. No! Her mind screeched.

Feral launched herself from the bush, slamming her paws on the rabbit's rump. She quickly delivered a swift killing bite to its neck. The warrior felt relief flooding through her, staring at her catch with proud eyes. After a few moments of catching her breath, the feline gripped onto the rabbit, lifting it from the powdery snow. Feral only expected to be met with the dark forest when she raised her head but to her surprise, there stood a shadowy figure watching her with slitted eyes from the trees.

The two met eyes and for a heartbeat neither party dared to move a whisker. Feral made the first move, gently lifting a paw to step forward. At this slight movement, the shadowy figure broke the eye contact and quickly ran back farther into the trees. “Hey! Come back here!” Feral hissed, discarding her rabbit to give chase to the stranger. The figure nimbly avoided the trees, seemingly knowing the path by heart. Feral, on the other hand, had trouble navigating the trees, narrowly avoiding slamming into the trees. By the time she had reached a clear patch again, Feral was almost completely out of breath. The silver molly slowed, panting, scanning the snow for the strange figure’s tracks.

To her confusion, the tracks had ended just before the end of the trees, almost like they had vanished into thin air. Feral scanned her surroundings, narrowing her light blue optics. Ah ha! There at the base of the mountains was a small, dark opening. That must be where they went. The young feline snuck closer to the opening, surprised to find a feeling of uneasiness growing as she approached closer. She stopped at the opening, she raised a paw to step into the darkness but hesitation washed over her. Feral thought about turning around but she just let out a huff, she was going to give this stranger a piece of her mind for trespassing on her territory. The molly took one last breath before plunging into the dark opening.

The first section of the tunnel was narrow and small, Feral having to duck before she entered. Once in the tunnel, Feral had just enough room to stand up completely. Feral sniffed the air but the only thing she could smell was the damp rock of the tunnel. Despite the eerie feeling the tunnel gave her, she continued regardless. As it continued, the tunnel narrowed once more, narrowing so far that Feral could feel her whisker brush the side of the walls. Luckily for her, the tunnel finally widened into a hollow before it got too narrow for her to brute force her way through.

Feral examined the cave with wide eyes, squinting as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. The warrior scented the air, only to be met with more damp smelling stone. They definitely aren’t in here… She approached the back of the cave, noticing that the ceiling was slanting the farther she went back. Feral also finally noticed that little crystals littered the sides of the cave, slowly growing more frequent as she progressed further. The silver molly let out a small gasp as she finally reached the back of the cave.

At the end of the cave was a small, dark pool. The small crystals on the floor continued into the pool, Feral noticed that crystals were also growing on the walls surrounding the pool. Feral glanced up, examining the ceiling. A few scarce crystals reached the ceiling but it was mostly barren rock, the only thing interesting about the ceiling was a small dark hole that cut through the rock. Feral crouched down, slowly inching her way towards the pool.

The warrior tentiviatly extended a paw towards the pool, and just before the warrior could drip her silver paw in the pool, it lit up with sparkles. Feral jumped up, caught off guard by the change, she quickly glanced back at the hole in the ceiling. Moonlight filtered through the small hole, lighting up the once dark pool with small stars. After the pool was completely lit up, Feral could hear whispering coming from somewhere in the cave. Feral extended her neck away from the pool, noticing the whispering quieted the farther she was from it. The silver molly crouched once more and craned her neck closer to the pool. Feral hesitated before finally giving in to the tempting waters, touching her nose gently to the surface. Darkness quickly washed over her, sending her into sleep.


Feral groggily blinked her eyes, sleep still blurring her eyes. The sleep didn’t cling to her eyes for long. Even with the blur Feral noticed quickly that this wasn’t the cave she had fallen asleep in. The silver molly’s head shot up, the fur pricking up along her spine. This isn’t even my forest! Where am i? Feral slowly raised from her spot in the flowy grass, examining her new surrounding with wide eyes. The grass that surrounded her was vibrant and glittered in the gentle moonlight.

The silver feline scented the air, trying to pick up a scent to give her any hint to where she was.

a hastily-made blanket of feather down and leaves. as the warrior jumps up to greet his clanmates, inkfire brushes away a stray leaf with his
tail, joking that he must've started turning into a bush while they were separated.

↪ pantherstar worried for her trusted advisor and the rest of her clanmates that went missing with him, therefore she ordered her rescue
party that they were to focus all their attention on their retrieval no matter what. a night nearly passed before she and her party found them,
though not all were okay. jayfur reported that honeypool died facing off against a starving fox, and blames himself for being unable to help after
the blizzard practically blinded him with its whipping winds. pantherstar mutters a prayer to the dark forest for honeypool's spirit to be put to
rest, and stays still as jayfur leans his tired head against her shoulder, silently grieving for who he lost.

↪ pansypounce and jack bounded up to batwing's patrol before they even spotted them and thank the rescue party profusely for trying to find
them, even though the two were steadily on the right track home themselves.

find them. the usual smile on riverecho's face was absent and somber as she reported that while she and the others endeavored to keep each other
warm and safe during the blizzard, rookfang succumbed to hypothermia. they visited his grave before heading back to camp...

↪ cobrashade had a reputation among chaosclan for his mysterious nature, which made the rescue party uneasy as their patrol leader's tail flicked
endlessly in agitation, his eyes searching for any trace of his eldest brother as they followed the slightest lead. with their hopes fading, elmwink is
the one who stands up to cobrashade and suggests they need to settle down for the night. cobrashade growls, but reluctantly accepts. as he falls into
an uneasy sleep, he wakes up to see wolfshimmer and their mother staring down at him. breaths of cold air escape wolfshimmer and cobrashade
feels his heart sink when he sees the icicles on his littermate's whiskers and stars dotting his translucent pelt. wolfshimmer gives him one last
reassuring nod before cobrashade feels himself waking up, he hears two kits's voices followed by his mother and brother wishing him well before
he jolts awake. taking a moment to acknowledge wolfshimmer died alone, cobrashade growls under his breath before waking everyone else up.
when probed, all cobrashade can croak is that he's gone, and they need to go home.

↪ bluepuddle couldn't stop his whiskers from twitching as he led the rescue party, while others would feel pride at being chosen to find one of their
own leaders, he felt like it was some kind of challenge. it still only seemed like yesterday when he joined chaosclan! and poor asterdrift was still
missing too... bluepuddle wondered if this assignment was some failed attempt at a distraction. he jumped when snowybranch bumped against his
soldier, bringing him out of his jumbled thoughts to see the distinctive spotted coat of songbirdstar just ahead with everyone standing around her.
giving everyone a chance to reconnect, songbirdstar pulls bluepuddle aside and commends his leading skills, making the tom very flustered.

The majority of it is a verbal question-and-answer session, though, for the sake of identification, they leave camp for a short amount of time. (Langsat doubts that he'll fail the latter part; the seeker has always had a sharper eye than even her.)

▶ OVERVIEW

CascadeClan shelters in a small, lush, fertile river-valley centered around a pond. The weather is mostly warm, moist, and humid. A farm can be found on the hill northwest of Cascade known as the Ricefields. Rice and wheat are grown there and it makes the perfect hunting ground. To the east of Cascade is a jungle filled with exotic creatures known as the Wildcries. It's rumored that another Clan lives deep in the tropics, but no cat of Cascade has ever met one of theirs. The jungle is the second hunting ground, but only skilled cats can go in there, as the Wildcries are a very dangerous place. Cascade cats have no dens excluding the nursery, known as the Lodge. Cascadors sleep in nests made of lush grass. All cats sleep in the same area regardless of rank; however, sick cats sometimes stay at the Estate while carrying drizzles and younger droplets remain in the Lodge. Cascade cats can be found in all colors, though some are less common than others. Grey and black-furred felines are seen often, with russet coming in as a close second. Brown is significantly rarer for whatever reason, as is cream. Solid white is much more common than partially white, though these felines rank in between greys and brown. Only shorthaired cats dare to venture in the wilds near the equator, though the occasional naive, lost, pampered kittypet can be seen failing to cross the street.
