Hiya! If it's not too late, I was wondering if I could reserve a spot for a daughter of Hecates? Has been quite a while since I've done a roleplay, haha. :')

faceclaim - haruna kawaguchi

General Information
Full name: Sabrina Rose Okawa
Nicknames: Bree/Bri (open to any other nicknames though)
Gender/Pronouns: Female (she/her)
Age: 15
Birthday: May 25th (Gemini)
Sexuality: Pansexual

Camp Information
Weapon(s): Currently none so far but I’m hoping to get her a long celestial bronze dagger from the armory and try practicing magic in combat.
Godly Parent: Hecate
Claimed?: Unclaimed
Cabin: 11 (will be moved to Cabin 20 later)
Powers: Mystiokinesis and Mist Manipulation
Sabrina has a bit of magic ability and focuses on making illusions with the mist. She definitely isn’t a pro and it pops on and off a lot of the time. She’s hoping to learn more illusion spells, be able to control/contain her magic, as well as be more advanced in the current ones she can do. Also able to see through the mist!
Number of Beads on Necklace: 0

Physical Description
Despite eating junk food all the time, Sabrina is lean and thin, with skinny arms and tall legs. It luckily was an advantage when she needed to run. At 5’3, she always wished she was a lot taller. Her long straight hair that ran down to her waist used to be black but been dyed dark blue when arriving at camp. Usually she styles it in a french braid or space buns if it gets in the way though. She wears clear contact lenses, although sometimes if she’s tired of her sparkling green eyes, she switches it up with colored ones or glasses.

Like her father, Sabrina had the same ‘baby-cheeks’ he was born with and she often despised it since nobody took her seriously when she was angry. She has a lopsided grin and an overbite that unfortunately was yet to be fixed. There is a particular visible scar (the rest were on their back) that ran right on her left eye after she had been attacked by a sphinx on the way home. Because of that, her dad immediately rushed to Camp Half-Blood after she recovered in the hospital.

If she could get away with it, Sabrina would have definitely worn pajamas everywhere she went. However, since they’d likely get dirty, she mostly wears a black hoodie (yes, even in the summer) over a graphic t-shirt starring her favorite bands and black leggings. Her white tennis shoes are unfortunately stained with mud and dirt but luckily for her, she doesn’t mind. If it’s cold enough, she’d probably wear her favorite beanie, scarf, and leather boots.

Personality & Background
Sabrina is extremely trusting and loyal to friends. Although she may be quite shy and quiet towards strangers and people of power, she can be extremely enthusiastic and fun to be around if she knows you well. In fact, she loves to throw karaoke parties even though she has no singing skills whatsoever. Sabrina is quite the extrovert and thrives off of talking to people, even if it hurts her anyway. She has a lot of layers of positivity and happiness bubbling up around her but she can’t help but analyze people and herself. Luckily she’s able to bite her tongue whenever she feels the need to comment on someone’s personality or actions or appearance. There’s always something that bothers her about people but she tries not to show it. That may be because of her sensitivity as she’s always worried she’s not doing enough for people and hates being confronted (she’s quite the emotional one and has cried a lot) as well as people showing disappointment in her. If she has a major problem with someone, she merely suppresses the feelings and tries to be polite and respectful however does feel the need to have short conversations or avoid someone because of this.

If you’re not quite acquainted with her, it’s hard to notice, but she shrugs and uses a bunch of hand motions/gestures quite a lot when talking. When Sabrina is hurt or close to crying, she looks down and stops talking since she’s so focused on blinking it away and making it stop. While laughing, she shakes her head a lot. If she wants to avoid you or say something bad, she tries to stop it by biting her tongue. And her sneezes/hiccups are very high-pitched, almost like a squeak.

She likes hanging out with friends, parties, being accepted/respected, reading fantasy (one of the rare demigods who don’t have dyslexia), acting, singing, naps, watching magic tricks, doing card magic tricks (of course, regular mortal magic tricks), flowers/plants, gardening, musicals, snacks, collecting seashells, swimming, tennis, track, figure-skating, dogs, and the beach.

She hates clowns, disappointment, guilt, regret, her height, bullying (when she was in elementary school, she had been bullied for being Japanese, which may have led to her judging herself and judging others because she had been judged?), stealing, zoos (she got lost at a zoo once), reality television shows, Hawaiian shirts, earrings (well, any type of jewelry), and hot weather.

She’s not too scared of a lot of things but she has a freaky fear of fire. Sabrina herself had been in a wildfire, trapped within her grandparents’ vacation house. Although she may have survived, her dear grandma and grandpa hadn’t made it out. She can’t stand it and when she’s near it, has an internal panic attack fearing that she’ll be burnt too.

Her fatal flaw is that she trusts her judgement too much, more than anything else. If she has a hunch about something, it’ll take a lot of effort to try to change her mind on something. Sabrina is very opinionated and because of this, is often blind to the truth.

Sabrina had been raised in Seattle, Washington, by her hardworking father who had to work two jobs at the same time so she wasn’t able to see him quite often. All she knew when she was younger was that her dad was very busy because her mom had left after she was born. That caused her to always have resentment towards her mother, even if she didn’t know who she was. When she learned that Hecate was her mom, she began to respect why she hadn’t been there for her due to, y’know, being a goddess. Because of this, her main caretakers were her grandma and grandpa who she absolutely adored when she was little. As a little award when she had finished all her homework and checked in with them, they would always go to the beach. Sabrina had loved the salty winds and the waves crashing over their feet. Since they would always go in the evening, she wasn’t allowed to swim in the ocean due to fear of it being too cold. She had cherished those memories in elementary school, where’d they’d all walk next to the seashore and collect seashells. Her grandmother would tell stories about when she was younger while her grandfather would crack funny jokes and puns every once in a while. Sometimes at her elementary school she’d be teased for having small eyes or the kids would ask why she had double lids instead of monolids so it was a nice change.

However, when she got to middle school, the teasing had escalated to flat-out bullying. Not because of her race but there was more. Sabrina had always seen weird things when she was little, a gift from Hecate - she could see through the mist, but had always thought it was normal and wasn't worth mentioning. The monsters hadn't necessarily caught onto her little secret as she was so young and unaware of being a demigod. But once she had gotten older and now knew that it wasn't normal, she told people. Her friends, classmates, whoever she was able to speak to. But that just labelled Sabrina as the crazy kid. Nobody believed her, not even her grandparents and that had hurt the most. Anyways, all the other students never took her seriously and if she answered a question during class, they would pass notes to each other and eventually it would reach her about how she should have shut her mouth since she always spoke nonsense. Her guardians were worried and thought she was 'hallucinating' and 'seeing things.' Which although she wasn't, to the mortal eye there was something wrong with her. Concerning? Incredibly but her grandparents still tried their best to comfort her and make her feel better.

She would run home crying to her grandparents because of how ruthless kids could be to her. Unfortunately, whenever they would file a complaint to the school, it’d simply go unnoticed. Eventually, it reached a breaking point where she had been left in bruises and her bullies had gotten everyone to give her the silent treatment - even people who she thought were her friends - and that was when the expelling had started. Despite not talking about seeing any monsters, at least not anymore, bullying didn't stop. That was when she started to fight back. One time the school had blamed her for pulling the fire alarm even though she hadn’t touched it. In reality, she may or may not have had accidentally cast a spell to get back at her bullies (it totally worked, one of them cried) but since she had already done a bunch of trouble such as fighting and even suspended once, Sabrina unfortunately had to go to another school. And then down the loophole of going to another school, judging people too quick, getting into fights, and getting expelled.

When she had graduated from eighth grade, she went on vacation during her summer break with her grandparents and they had rented a log cabin in a little forest in Washington. It had been an absolute blast. In the morning, they would have breakfast and then proceeded to have a good time fishing. In the afternoon, they relaxed in their building and played board games or Sabrina would show off some of her card tricks. The three of them would go on nature hikes every evening and watch the sunset. Until the last day, it had been all fine and dandy. But it was only night and they were getting ready to sleep so they weren’t aware of what was happening. The fire had spread, igniting the building and nearly crumbling it all down. It was too late to try escaping, for 13-year-old Sabrina had been trapped in her room and scared for her life. It had been all blurry and dizzy because she didn’t want to remember how frightened she was. All she could recall was trying to open the doorknob without burning her hand and hiding in her closet. Luckily for her, the firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before it was too late. But her grandparents had died and the only thing she remembered was bawling her eyes out and hugging her father as hard as she could.

People at her new school knew about it and they started to be nice at her for some reason. Sabrina had been disgusted. Because they all had pity in her eyes. It was harder to pick fights when everyone kept excusing you for your bad behavior. She started to eat lunch with her ‘friend group’ at school rather than skipping it or eating it in the girls’ bathroom. It all had felt fake but she pretended that it was real. That was what she did best. And her father had started to be around too. Maybe because he had saved up a lot of money so he quit his second job or because his parents’ will had supported them or because he wanted to be there for her daughter. Things started to look a lot better for Sabrina, even when she had nightmares about wildfires and her grandparents. But on her 15th birthday, her dad thought she was mature enough to know the truth, that she was a demigod. She had loved her father but this seemed a bit too much. She knew that he wouldn’t lie though so for the several months of the summer, she had spent a lot of time cooped up in her room studying all about Ancient Greek mythology. Sabrina wondered about who her mother was. It felt good to be related to a goddess but she felt guilty and wrong. Despite her being a demigod, she had screwed up so many times. She wanted to redeem herself.

She finally had gotten that chance after a sphinx attacked her. Well, she had gotten a few scars but that wasn’t the point. After a little nature walk, she had been walking home when Sabrina had gotten shoved by a monster and it had clawed her quite a bit. In desperation, she had cast a spell which had thrown the sphinx away into the city and had passed out. After waking up in the hospital and having a fast recovery, her father had thought it was time for her to go to a summer camp since it wasn’t safe for her there. One flight from the West Coast to the East Coast had led her to the strawberry fields of Camp Half-Blood.

Personal Relationships
David Okawa - Her father who she loves dearly. She hasn’t quite bonded with him too much - no sharing secrets while eating dinner together - since he’s at work a lot but Sabrina understands he does it for her. She would do anything for him.

Phoebe - Her 7-year-old Samoyed dog she rescued (she was 1 year old at the time) when Sabrina was 9. She absolutely adores dogs, especially her little Phoebe who loves to sniff dogs, play catch, and go on walks. Unfortunately, Phoebe doesn’t like to travel very much and Sabrina was worried about her being in danger at the camp, so her father will be watching over her in the summer.

Grandparents (Yumiko Okawa and Haru Okawa)- Sabrina’s grandma and grandpa have been taking care of her ever since she was a little girl and she was proud to be related to them. She always felt she could tell them everything and they would never judge and give her advice. They had made amazing memories before the wildfire incident had happened.

I’m open to any relationships via campers. :-)

Anything Else
Before Sabrina knew she was a demigod, she wanted to be an actor despite her soft and quiet voice and her terrible singing. She had always found it relaxing in a way to be someone else for a change. She’s good at pretending and wishes reality was more like the fantasy world she created in her head.

Will do! c:
Thus far - the previous day, the returning summer campers and a few new campers arrived. They went about their day pretty normally up until lunch, when it started to snow. First of all, it's the middle of June. It's not supposed to be snowing. Second of all, the camp barrier should've kept out whatever weather was happening outside... but it hasn't, and snow started piling up.
The cold weather continued into the day, and there was talk of cancelling Capture the Flag that night. A meeting of the Senior Counsel was called, and a prophecy was spoken (which is on the front page under quests & prophecies). Capture the Flag continued as planned, despite the cold temperatures. During the game, the snow kicked up into a blizzard and venti started invading camp. The Capture the Flag game was eventually called off with no winner, and campers were directed towards the Big House. Alex Burns, a son of Aphrodite, was lost in the snow and unfortunately died. The Hunters of Artemis arrived, and brought some new information to light. Before most of the campers could get inside the Big House, the roof caved in under the weight of the snow (17 npcs were killed, more campers were injured), and the Big House was reduced to rubble. As you can imagine, this greatly impacted the morale of the campers and camp staff. The campfire burned black that night. Lucy and Will arrived to camp with some news from the Grey Sisters about another god's involvement (it has been assumed that Khione is involved by this point); a god that the sisters themselves wouldn't dare to name. Everyone was sent off to bed after being informed of the casualties, the prophecy, and the quest.
The current day, the winter weather is still in full swing. It had stopped snowing in the morning, but was still quite cold outside. Breakfast happened, followed by a meeting in which anyone who was interested in going on the quest attended (as well as those with information from dreams or other sources). Said meeting has since ended, and the questing demigods have saddled up some pegasi/horses and are getting ready to ride to Laurel's aunt's house; she has a van that could fit all of them safely (some of the camp vans were down for maintenance, and some are very much snowed in). The questing demigods are making their final goodbyes while everyone else is doing various activities; i.e. sparring, trying to help the dryads cope with the sudden winter weather, coming up with foolish prank ideas, etc. It started snowing again semi-recently, followed by a slight drop in temperature. One can only assume that's not a good sign...

If I missed anything important, anyone else feel free to jump in! It is late and my brain is mush lol
