Something I find funny is how in AJ classic most of the playerbase uses the phrase "beta items" correctly but most people on Play Wild use it incorrectly.

AJ classic people: an item that came from the beta stage of animal jam.
Play Wild people: any items that hold some sort of value (or for some people, just items that aren't being sold in the shops)

Though I have found people on Play Wild that use it correctly. Idk if more people have started to use it correctly on Play Wild or not, but that's what I've seen when I see people on Play Wild using the phrase.

Ohhhh this thread has brought back memories. I played AJ back when it first started until about 2015/2016ish? I haven't played in quite a few years ahaha. Reading through the thread, it seems like AJ hasn't gotten any better I quit due to scammers, and the games' shifting focus on "beta items" and "rare items"... which is too bad, since I have so many fond memories on there (and lots of "betas" ). I'm quite content playing tunnel town now.

So the throwbacks question has some fun and weird answers! Most, I'd say 90%, have moved on to other online ventures. Some retained their popularity, others lost it completely. Aparri became a Soundcloud rapper, and I guess he wasn't great, because he lost like 90% of his base. BigTenFoxLady, who was a smaller youtuber, however, absolutely exploded in popularity on Tik Tok. The remaining 10% is split between two groups, the 8% who blipped off the face of the online earth completely, and the 2% who stayed. I know Wisteriamoon is making content for Wild Work's new game Fer.al, but I'm not sure if any OG youtubers are still making AJ content.

As you get older AJ kinda looses it's flavor, unless you're really invested in the economic side of things. Which is always entertaining because it's adjacent to that experiment where they made a monkey pick stocks, in terms of absolute absurdity. There is no empiric way to measure any given item's worth, because it's all demand based and just absolutely ballistic and can change at a moment's notice.

Okay, question for anyone who's been able to play AJ Classic recently, because I am REALLY stuck! I've been trying to log onto my old AJ account, and I downloaded the installer on my computer, but it's only taking me to Play Wild (renamed Animal Jam, I know, but to make things easier to understand I'll call it PW here) every single time? The first ever time I tried, I got the Classic login screen, but I had to change my password, and after I put my info in it got stuck loading, so I closed out and tried again. Now, no matter what I do, every time I open the installer, it takes me straight to Play Wild - no login or anything. I've looked at so many official help pages, deleted and redownloaded the installer, restarted, and even asked AJ themselves on Instagram, but nothing is allowing me to even get the login screen for the Classic version. Does anyone know what to do? I really want to check out my old account again : (
(btw, pretty sure my account itself has no issues too! Changed the password easily and can also get into PW with no problems. I just can't get the installer to take me to Classic.)

If I remember correctly there was a separate download for AJ classic, it confused me too at first heh

Hmm... I know this post was from two weeks ago, but I just re-downloaded AJC from classic.animaljam.com/en/ and it worked fine, so I hope you're not having these issues anymore D:

I’m thinking it may, although mine is a new computer (got it in September) and is the correct type to run it! I still need to try some other computers and see if it works on there since no one else really seems to be having the same problems as me!
