Idea!
We have the pup thing done first! Say the sickness has a semi-short incubation period where there are no symptoms. And then when wildsight's back, or she quits or when the packs join together, we have the so-called incubation period end and people/wolves start to have symptoms.

I should just whip up a small form for our little bad guy... or does someone else want to do it? It doesn't need much, just the basics. name, age, etc.

and yeah... Twig and Tanais are going to be in sooo much trouble.

yeah i am, i didnt really have an idea for Twig anyway. He was just kinda a sibling for Moose since i didnt want to have all three of my characters with dead siblings.

and i want to create a wolfdog as a character. im not sure how many characters each person can have. but i think four is gonna be enough work already.



and! What kind of sickness is it gonna be. I imagine that it will be a bacteria that infests your digestive track since it came from a sick cow elk. But it could possibly be a respiratory virus

I'm thinking more of a respiratory virus, that in the end affects the whole body. Early symptoms are much like a normal cold + flu type of thing. But eventually symptoms like weight loss/gain, insomnia, muscle stiffness, and hallucinations come into play. If not treated soon enough... death is an eventual outcome. But I'm thinking there's like a two-plus week time for death to become a real possibility. And that's only after the hallucinations come into play. so it'd go like this:

Step 1: Incubation period of _____ days/weeks - not notcable
Step 2: common white/greencough symptoms - curable, but difficult.
Step 3: Three days later one new symptom. - Curable
Step 4: four days later, new symptom. - Curable
Step 5: three days later, new symptom. - Curable
Step 6: four days later, Hallucinations - nearing the end of curability
step 7: six to 16 days later, Eventual death. - between day 20 and 26 patients will start to die. But still curable if you have whats needed

I'm thinking the cure would be a mix of herbs used for green/whitecough, joint problems, and something to keep energy/strength up? Plus some poppy seeds to get them to sleep, while they're healing.

But depending on how things are I may lengthen the time between adding symptoms + the eventual death thing.

and how contagious is it... I havent read WC in a long time. i dont remember a lot of things about it.

That would depend on if any characters interact with the DM pack or not. but most likely yeah it would just be BR.

I'm thinking it would only spread through the air via a sneeze or cough. So an isolated area for sick wolves to be is paramount. So a second small den away from camp would be needed. Maybe a few hunters would be willing to interact with the healers to give them prey to give to the sick wolves too. So a limited amount of wolves could be infected.

It looks like the fight is ending soon, so I'll try getting a reply up for Rama maybe tomorrow?? Depending on my muse and what I can work with.
I was actually going to ask about the mini-plot I don't mind going ahead with the sickness plot with Nymph's absence as long as Calamity's okay with Kuri handling everything, but going ahead with the pup drama while the virus is incubating sounds good! Blue Rock is going to have a tough next few days, especially with Brisbane and Nymph absent and Anubis gone (RIP)!

Regarding the sickness, if it's for sure going to come from Tanais and Twig's moose, then I agree with Poksil's analysis that it would almost definitely be a bacterial infection. Not much changes here since spread/symptoms/recovery would be similar all-around (so if we're going a respiratory infection, they enter the body through the early digestive system and colonize the lungs before symptoms start really showing up), but thought I would throw that out there for the sake of realism. Sorry, Biology was my major so I couldn't help but butt in! Everything else about the disease-to-come seems reasonable to me.

That's fine, I don't know anything about either of those, so... -shrug- I was really just going with my gut. But since you do know more about this type of thing I may ask your opinion on it and certain things. I'm not one to turn down a good resource.
