Braveheart was in deep thought, as always, about the future of the clan. What would the next big fiasco be? Who would be the next leader when Silverstar eventually retires?

She was about to take another huge bite out of her squirrel, but then a familiar mew of a younger cat interrupted her. Braveheart's head shot up as she noticed her apprentice standing right next to her. "Hi, Crestpaw!" She meowed, "Glad to see that you're eager to start training today." Braveheart closed her eyes momentarily as she reminisced about her apprentice days... Crestpaw was just like her when she was younger — young and energetic and enthusiastic! Whilst the senior warrior's energy mostly remained, she was no longer young and as obedient as she used to be. Braveheart looked back at the apprentice and replied, "We will be practicing some battle moves. I hope you're ready!"

With the stale herbs disposed of at the edge of camp, half-singing a cheerful "good morning~!" to Almondfall as he passed by him on the way to the fresh kill pile. He gently plucked a mouse from the pile after some brief consideration.The tom retreated to a spot just outside the entrance to his den to eat, ending up half-sprawled across the ground after he had finished doing so and the last remnants of his meal were taken care of. Tail tip flicking lazily as his gaze scanned the camp.

Badgerpawwalked out of the traniee’s den to see his fellow apprentice, Crestpaw up. He decided not to disturb her and her mentor. His mentor would come to him in time. Or should he ask if he could tag along with Crestpaw and Braveheart. He didn’t know, but it’s probably best to leave them alone.

Wolfpaw raced out of the apprentices den and to the fresh kill pile. He was famished and ready to get the day started. He looked over to His brother, deep in thought he presumed. He turned his gaze to Crestpaw and Braveheart. No sign of Owlpaw. Where was his fellow apprentice. He shrugged and walked over to Crestpaw and Braveheart. He dipped his head and said, “I hope I’m not interrupting anything. I was wondering if I could tag along if you were going to train.”

Littleears woke up with a yawn and walked out of the warriors den. She saw her brother, Badgerpaw, standing in the middle of camp and saw her other brother, Wolfpaw, walking over to Braveheart and Crestpaw. She remembered those two being apprentice and mentor. Oh no, was Wolfpaw interrupting them. How embarrassing would that be if he was.

indentation De-feathering the crow hadn't taken all that long, so it wasn't too long before the rumbling of their stomach subsided. Tail curling with content as they ate, the dilute tortie let their mind wander. First to the deputyship, who would earn the title. Then to Snowkit, and who would train the less than friendly kit. Before finally resting on the nursery and when the clan would once again be expecting new life. Fadedember knew that they, couldn't help with that endeavor, but there were plenty of cats in the clan that was of age. And it wouldn't be too long before the apprentices earned their warrior names and were able to search out and chose mates. Sighing the non-binary cat chewed their food, remembering the day that Breezesong had told them that they were in fact sterile.

indentation They had found a friend in a she-cat that was willing to give him kits, despite the fact that neither was romanticly involved, much less attracted to each other. After what felt like moons of trying to produce kits, the duo had gone to the medicine cat for help. It was that day that Fadedember learned the truth. If anything, it was the one thing that Fadedember hated about themselves. But they tried not to focus on that. Shaking their head, they cleared their head of the negative thoughts that plagued them. Swallowing a piece of meat, the feline sighed before their gaze flickered to a she-cat around Aspenflight's age. Her name was Littleears if they remembered correctly, and tilted their head slightly to the right as they silently observed her. They shook their head after a time, before returning their gaze to their meal and continuing to eat.

indentation Blinking as her mentor spoke, the cream patched she-cat nodded. Her tail curling over her back at the thought of battle training. Purr rumbling in her throat, "I look forward to it. Shall I get a quick bite to eat?" She mewed, wondering if this was going to be an intense training session or something more laid back. The apprentice found that intense training sessions were easier with light meals, or not eating at all so she didn't get nauseous. If it was to be a lighter session, she'd allow herself to eat something bigger. Though the apprentice tended to share her meals with at least one of her fellow apprentices. If she remembered correctly, she'd been sharing prey with Owlpaw the day before, so maybe she could share with Badgerpaw or Wolfpaw today? Her thoughts were interrupted when Wolfpaw padded up and frowned.

indentation "Isn't that for your mentor; Almondfall to decide?" Crestpaw asked, giving the younger tom an odd look. Her ears flattened for a heart-beat, "Look, maybe you should check with Almondfall first, I don't think he'd like it if you just went off with us without permission." She said. Besides he may have things planned for him. And it's not like an apprentice with only a moon of training's going to be a challenge. The apprentice thought absently, as her gaze flickered around camp.

indentation At some point while waiting for someone - probably Silverstar - to assign patrols, the dark ginger patched tom remembered his apprentice; Badgerpaw. Sighing the board-shouldered tom got to his paws and padded over to the black and white apprentice. Glancing over the apprentice, he nodded absently to himself. "Get something quick to eat, after you're done, we'll gather a few others and go on a patrol." The patched tom mewed, silently rearranging his day so that he could take his time to train the apprentice and have a few brakes. Take a small break after the patrol, go on a hunting patrol after the break. Then another break, then depending on the time weather, some battle training. He thought, his ears twitching as he gazed down at the young tom.

Braveheart looked at the tall fresh kill pile. There seemed to be a lot of prey in Wildclan territory this season. She slowly blinked at the apprentice, "Yes, you should eat. But not a lot, because it is going to be intense today!" She chuckled to herself.

Her attention was quickly brought to another apprentice but a smaller one. Ah yes, Wolfpaw — the new apprentice. He was so tiny that even a regular-sized rabbit could squish him, Braveheart thought. Whilst she admired his eagerness, it just wouldn't be safe for him. "I'm sorry, Wolfpaw, but Crestpaw is right. It wouldn't be-" The young cat's round eyes pierced into her, making her feel slightly bad. Just as Wolfpaw started to walk away, the older warrior shook her head and called out to him, "I wouldn't mind if you joined us! I think spectating and having a little go would be good for you... but, just check with your mentor first."
