My vision blurred as Willowsplash lifted me up. She walked into camp and I heard her call out to Tanglefur "Tanglefur? Where?" I asked WIllowsplash weakly.

She carried Bramblewind into the medicine den, trying not to break down. "She's not here yet, just keep breathing, okay?" She placed Bramblewind on the ground gently, getting a pawful of cobwebs to slow down the bleeding so he could live to at least see Tanglefur again. "Tanglefur!" she yowled, hoping the deputy would reach them soon. Willowsplash looked at her old mentor and suddenly couldn't take it anymore. She started sobbing. "You weren't supposed to die like this," she meowed. "You were supposed to help me interpret messages from StarClan, help me watch over the clan." She gulped as she realized she would now be the head medicine cat of CloudClan. "You can't leave us Bramblewind, not yet!"

"Curse you, you filthy-" She cut off screaming. " MY EYE!" Ashlight doubled over and wailed in pain. She stumbled away into the trees, wailing.

I gave a pain-filled smile to my apprentice "Don't worry" I said weakly "Now I'll be able to give you those messages. You'll be able to interpret them just fine my apprentice" I gagged and waited for Tanglefur to come. Both me and Willowsplash knew that I wouldn't make it.

She laughed at his comment. "Bramblewind...thank you for being there for me when I didn't have too many others to rely on."

"I will always be there for you Willowsplash, even in Starclan. If you just call out I'll come. I will never truly leave you Willowsplash" I saw more starry figures walk into the den "No!" I knew that Willowsplash probably knew what I was seeing right now. I lifted my head and looked at Willowsplash "Please Willowsplash" I begged "Don't let them take me before Tanglefur comes!"
