Silverheart stopped and thought for a minute. She was a bit surprised that Lionwind was letting her pick where the apprentices would hunt. She looked directly at Lionwind and said "How about we start near the stepping stones? Then they can work their way upstream away from the AshClan border?" She was uneasy at the thought of the young apprentices hunting close to the AshClan border, so she tried to pick a part of the territory that was unburned yet far away from the border. Silverheart glanced at Pikepaw and Vixenpaw to see their reactions.
Foxstrike | Male | 12 moons | Warrior | Apprentice: | Crush: open | Tags: Troutwhisker, Willowpaw, Ravenfeather | Mentions: Shellstar, Lionwind, AshClan patrol
Foxstrike's attention was drawn away from Ravenfeather by the appearance of an AshClan patrol coming over the rise. They were probably the border patrol, coming to see what the disturbance was. He didn't notice the falling raindrops until they were large and coming down fast, and his pelt was quickly soaked through. His hackles rose despite his drenched pelt. The fast approaching patrol made him uneasy. With tensions so high, it wouldn't take much for a fight to break out, and now that the rain had washed Rainwatcher's scent off of RippleClan territory, she could say whatever she wanted and her clanmates would believe her over RippleClan cats. He felt Willowpaw step closer to him. He turned his head towards her, without taking his eyes from the AshClan cats, and whispered "Don't worry. Troutwhisker won't want to fight when we're this badly outnumbered. If they do attack, you run back to camp as fast as you can and get Shellstar or Lionwind to send another patrol." He glanced at her to see that she understood. She looked a lot smaller than usual, with her fur slicked down by rain, but she was shivering a bit and he could see her fur bristling despite the rain. He couldn't tell if she was scared, angry, or cold, but he hoped she would be able to keep her head if a fight broke out. He glanced at Troutwhisker so see if he was going to give them any orders, but he was staring at the approaching AshClan patrol, flexing his claws into the ground, pelt bristling. Foxstrike turned his attention back over the border and watched as the patrol came closer.
Alderpelt | Male | 26 moons | Medicine Cat Apprentice | Mentor: Rainwatcher | Crush: Forbidden | Tags: Open | Mentions: Rainwatcher
Alderpelt had left camp early in the morning to search for herbs in the burned part of the forest. He wanted to see if any of the useful plants would grow back after the fire. So far he had found a small patch of borage on the edge of the burned area, and a patch of what smelled like coltsfoot growing further into the damaged forest. He thanked StarClan that the small patch of Catmint that grew on their territory hadn't burned, without that they could be very vulnerable to disease. He stopped and looked up towards the sky. The clouds were darkening fast, and he could smell rain on the air. He picked up the small bundle of horsetail and juniper that he had picked elsewhere and bounded back to camp. He didn't mind the rain, but he didn't want the leaves he had collected to get wet, otherwise they would take days to dry. He stepped into the camp and saw that the camp had come to life while he was gone. He passed several clanmates on his way to the medicine den, but he didn't stop to talk. He trotted over to the medicine den and ducked inside as he felt the first few drops of rain fall on his fur. Rainwatcher was not in the den, but Alderpelt didn't mind working in solace. He laid out his bundle and began stripping the leaves from the stem, and sorting them into piles.

Jesper | Female | 8 moons | Outsider | Mentor | Crush: open | Tags: Oliver | Mentions:
Jesper woke gently at Oliver's prodding. She purred and looked up at him, and with a yawn she said, "Good morning dad. It smells like rain!" She stood up and stretched, and touched her nose to father's. Even three moons after her death, Jesper couldn't help but think about greeting her mother too. Some mornings she caught herself looking around for her mother before remembering that she wasn't here. She could see sorrow in her father's eyes and knew he was thinking of Octavia too. The little family had been split apart forever, but Jesper was happy that she still had her father. The two had grown even closer than before, and she thought they made a pretty good team. She pulled away from him and purred. The rain had started up, but it didn't really bother her. "Where do you think we should go today?" She gave a little bounce as she spoke, readying herself for a day of exploring and searching for food. Every day they had to travel a little farther from home to find enough food for both of them, and Jesper pushed away the thought that they might have to move somewhere else to be closer to food. She didn't want to leave the den she was born in, even if it was a pile of rubble now. And if they moved, that would mean leaving behind her mother, and Jesper couldn't bear the thought of that.
