Bay Laurel, Immortal, Female, Drayd, Location: Apollo Cabin, Tags: Niji, Mentions: None
Bay was startled as Niji hugged her. But it did feel nice, especially compared to the cold her tree was feeling. "It's fine," she murmured. She didn't tell him that warming her here would be useless if her tree died, she knew he was just trying to help her. Just then she had a thought. Niji was the son of Dionysus who happened to be a Nature God. Maybe he could help her. She didn't want to be greedy, though. Niji had been through a lot and probably not well enough do any magic anyway. Plus, different children of the same gods could do different things. Maybe Niji didn't have any plant power. She looked up at him, and tried to determine for herself. He had just gotten claimed after all... She touched his arm and took a deep breath, trying to sense whether he had it in him. It was no use. She wasn't strong enough. She decided to just ask him. "Hey, She spoke through chattering teeth. "I don't mean to be selfish, but do you have any plant powers?"

Draco waited patiently by a tree waiting for Chiron's return with the Lieutenant Laika. He hummed quietly unsure of what to do.

"It's not being selfish." Niji mumbled.
"Yeah I have plant powers, but I never really practiced them so I don't how they'll help."
Niji mumbled blushing.

"I am the host of Set. So I guess it's kinda like a room mate except the room mate lives in me." Sa'd explained.
"We aren't a couple if that's what you're asking. Set just knows it embarrasses me and besides that's his personality anyways, so he means nothing by it."
"Unless you're asking abkut Sa'd's uncle which is self explanatoryand I doubt that's what you were asking." Set replied.
Set seemed to be curious as to why the Greek was asking.

mentioned: dahlia╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ the body in his hands was heavy. he knew where the words 'dead weight' came from, at least. that was a learning curve. but the strain of his arms, in a strange sense, felt rather good. "no, i'm alright," he said when asked whether he needed help. though teilo was admittedly rather lanky, described as 'slight' by a select few, he had learned a long time ago how to distribute himself. the lesson had been a good one, wrapped in a bittersweet memory that felt too far away.
"i - i don't think we should put him back in the cold," he said. "they were going to send out a search party. i don't know where they're keeping the bodies, though. i suppose -" he paused. "just... taking him back. to the dining hall, or chiron, or someone like that." he frowned, not having thought this far ahead. "going to have to go back there anywhere. got that meeting."

mentioned: auggie╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ "well, then. that makes it even more important. you've got a one-up on me. i can't be having that for much longer," he teased back with a quirk of his brows.
"well, no, it was a lot more complicated than that," he said regarding fear. "i figured out that i was gonna die, and there was nothing i could do stop that. so i learnt to be okay with it. just kind of moved on. and then i started going stuff that was - that could have killed me, retrospectively. jumping off cliffs into lakes, getting in fights with people who were a lot bigger than me - i broke into an army base once. just 'cos i fancied it. and then none of those things killed me. and i thought 'well, me dying has a hundred percent fail rate. especially if i run into it'. so it just became a game." he frowned as he explained. "it was like - you know how when you're about to do something, and then someone tells you to do it, and all of a sudden you don't wanna do it anymore? it's like that. if something's trying to kill me and i tell it to kill me, then it's following my orders if it does it. and it works."
orin shook his head at the thought of being bad at maths. "i don't believe in it. any number above ten is just... it's fake. if you can't count it on your hands, then it's not real." he said, recalling angry debates he had had with one of his old teachers that went along those lines. the more he thought about himself in school, the less he liked himself.
"i could say that you're permanently wearing spooktacles. have you heard that one before?" he said after a moment of thought. "that's cheesy. am i cheesy? is that the kind of man i am?"
"sometimes i hope that this is all a really elaborate coma-dream," orin said. "that i'm just lying pretty in a hospital bed, and every so often i mutter the name of a god, and my family's around me, wondering what i could possibly be concocting up." a pause. "sometimes i don't. sometimes i'm sort of glad it's real." a glazed over, half-meaningful look in auggie's direction.
"don't say that, you pillock. i'll start fretting on you. spike a hot chocolate with nectar, or something. that'll get you. surprise attack of care. no-one ever anticipates it 'till it's too late," did he have a leg to stand on? absolutely not, no. but he hopped about on it anyway. "gods rest his soul. he's probably bricking himself at the mere thought of what you're gonna hit him with. best revenge would just be to tell him that you've got something planned, something really big, and let him worry about it. he'll check around every corner. he'll live in fear for the rest of time, wondering when you're gonna reap your revenge. that'll really get to him." he chuckled. "on the other hand, it would be - it would be a little bit rude."

[⚘] Yuno Takashi | Seventeen | Demi-girl [Her/They] | Demeter Child | Location: Dining Pavilion | Tag(s): N/A | Mention(s): Open.
They would step into the area of the Dining Pavilion, glancing around tiredly at the group of people that were interacting with each other. Campers bustling around, multiple, much more awake then the Demeter Head Counselor was by a long shot. She let out a soft chuckle to herself, before stepping off to grab herself a cup of coffee or tea if any was around. Her snake-child sitting quietly wrapped around her shoulders, tongue flicking out here and there in an absent manner, just enjoying the short bit of fresh air together. Though she had one of those fancy poncho like blankets wrapped around her and her reptile, as the cold was irritating them quite a bit.
Her gaze would trail across the tables and decently sized groups of people, as she picked up a cup and poured herself a small cup of already brewed tea. Before she shifted to lean herself against the wall, sipping the beverage in an absent minded manner. After a moment or two, she'd let her eyes shut as she focused on the sounds around her. Just awaiting the meeting to start for the time being.

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|Cabin 13|tags:OrinShe listened, brow furrowed slightly as he explained his lack of fear, letting out a huff of a laugh at the mention of breaking into an army base, just because. Technically, what he said made sense. If you challenge death repeatedly then it can’t hurt you because you’re the one in control. “Sounds like a pretty fool proof plan, unless you’re afraid of things other than death...” she muttered, gaze still on the ceiling. She hadn’t meant to be talking about herself, but she was. Though her powers were the biggest indicator of her fear, they were also one of the biggest sources of it. She wasn’t afraid of what would happen to her, she was afraid of what she could do to others. Losing the people around you, scaring them, hurting them, killing them; that wasn’t something you could challenge. In a way it was almost like she did, pushing everyone around her away to prevent ever getting close to them in the first place, but that wasn’t exactly the same thing. She shook the thought away, not particularly fond of the idea of diving into her own psychological processes for the time being.
“Sounds like you’re just bad at math—and really bitter about it too,” she responded with a sly smile. “Maybe you should get a tutor or something. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to find someone to teach you how to count to eleven.”
She paused at his attempt at a creative nickname, looking over with an unimpressed yet slightly confused expression, seeming unsure how to respond before she broke into a laugh. “Yes, it is. And you are. And that’s gotta be the worst insult I’ve ever heard. Spooktacles?” She raised her eyebrows disbelievingly. “I could call you Orange and it would still be a better nickname than that.”
She caught his gaze for a brief second when he looked over at her, hesitating before she turned her head away again. “Right, I’m so glad to know that my biological father is literally Satan himself and that monsters are real and it’s snowing in June.” She replied with a deadpan voice. Truthfully, she didn’t think it was so bad either. This camp and this life, it had it’s good points sometimes, but she was never going to admit that. “Besides you can’t be in a coma. That requires being unconscious and you simply wouldn’t do such a thing.” She looked over at him again, eyebrows raised.
“Don’t call me a pillock, I don’t even know what that means, Irish boy.” She frowned, kicking his foot again but with a little more force this time. “And you’re one to talk, sitting at the campfire like everything’s fine when you’re bleeding from the scalp. If you don’t watch out I’ll send the Apollo cabin after you, intimidate them into following you around and stopping you from doing anything stupid. I’ll even have them play you an annoying little theme song.”
“I’m sure he already lives in fear, the guy shares a cabin with me. And when have I ever been concerned about being a bit rude?” she questioned with a smirk, thoughts already forming in her brain of how she’d get her revenge. She knew Reese hadn’t meant it—he had about as much control over his powers as she did—but that minor detail wasn’t going to stop her from teaching him a lesson regardless.
if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

mentioned: auggie╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ "it just -" he took a deep breath in. "the other stuff's different." there were, of course, things that he was afraid of - some of them similar to auggie's mental struggle, some of them almost violently different. "less scared of me dying, more nervous about other people dying. but that's - it happens. and it'd be pretty stupid of me to think that it never will." he had been caught out by that exact foolish set of thoughts. it wasn't going to happen again.
"i don't need someone to teach me to count higher than ten. if i want to, i can, i just - i don't see the point half the time. i'll have it with frequencies. if there are twenty people in a room then there are twenty people in the room, but that just means there's two tens of people in a room," he said. "i passed maths, i'll have you know. out of spite. mister brown never saw it coming. i got to rub the certificate right in his big baldy face."
his face split into a smile at the apprehension to the word 'spooktacles'. "it works. i'd prefer orange to - to flash. or zappy. windbag -" an exaggerated look of disgust. "but spooktacles, that's - that's - i think that's some of my best work. you don't see it, 'cos you don't have the same vision i do. and i'm not saying i'm a genius for it, but i think that genius very briefly passed through me."
the deadpan voice made him shrug. when she put it like that, it did sound a tad more abnormal than would have been hoped for, but it was just the facts of their existence. apart from the snow bit, of course. that was, unfortunately, rather new. "i'm unconscious all the time. i just would never faint," he corrected, waving a pointed finger. "and if i was in a coma i wouldn't be so damned tired. there's that."
the 'pillock' comment and the following kick quite tickled him. "oh, i could call you more. you're telling me you've gone your whole life without being called a langer? i'm green," he laughed. the mention of his scalp, funnily enough, sent a throb through the back of his head - as though the reminder had dragged up the pain once more. "that was different." he had had a reason, a reason more than what he had told her by the campfire, a reason that explained the remaining crescent bruise and fuzzy feeling in the back of his head, but a bit of him called it childish. stupid. he was glad to have the topic change a tad. "you really wanna give me my own fanfare? do you think that highly of me?"
"capitalise on it, then. no-one's scared of me here. i gotta live it vicariously through you," orin said. he wasn't sure whether he was alright with his reputation, in all honesty. sometimes, he wanted the mysticism, the air of dignity and put-togetherness, and other times it was the last thing he wanted. a difficult thing, being pulled apart like that. "it's gotta be creative, though. you can't just - you can't just make it like a little surprise, a little prank. it's gotta be monumental. an obelisk." he had had one of those moments. a very long time ago, now. almost faded and shredded to time, but not quite gone completely yet. "but - seriously, though. if you think i was an idiot for not having ambrosia last night when you thought i needed it, then surely you should be thinking that you're an idiot too, by proxy. i'm not calling you one. i never would. but - by the precedent, you know..." a bit of teasing, but with serious undertones. "you really wanna follow in my footsteps? mine?"

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|Cabin 13|tags:OrinAuggie wasn’t as surprised as she should’ve been when he said almost exactly what she’d been thinking. She didn’t comment on it, but regardless of how pointless it was to be afraid of losing other people, that wasn’t going to stop her, especially not when it could so easily happen from her own hands if she didn’t keep her abilities in check. The only thing keeping that fear at bay was suppressing her emotions, holding back the things that could send her powers spiralling out of control. She’d nearly lost that control two days in a row now.
She raised an eyebrow at his rambling about math and numbers. She figured it probably wouldn’t be the greatest boost to her image to mention the fact that she’d barely passed seventh grade math, mostly because of her inability to sit still and pay attention for more than two minutes, but she kept her mouth shut anyways, shaking her head at his bravado.
“Huh...guess I’ll have to come up with something more irritating then,” she said in response to him not minding the name ‘orange’. “Of course I don’t have the same vision as you, I’m the one with spooktacles on!” She retorted, then seemed to realize what she’d said and covered her face with her hands, muffling a bitter, disappointed laugh at herself. “Pretend those words didn’t just come out of my mouth,” she mumbled, sliding her hands from her face slowly.
“Right,” she agreed with an expression of mock-seriousness. “There’s a huge difference between those.” She looked over when he laughed, barely suppressing the smile on her face. “Well I’ve never left America so I’m gonna go with no I haven’t, and it’s not about to start,” she said, her tone slightly threatening.
She didn’t see what was so different between him refusing to take ambrosia last night and her refusing to take any now, but she didn’t push the subject seeing as it would’ve been pretty hypocritical and she didn’t want it turned back around on her again anyways. “Absolutely not,” she responded to his question a little too quickly. “It would be the most annoying thing I could possibly have them play. It would be Photograph by Nickelback...on bagpipes.”
She let out a huff of breath at the concept of living vicariously through her intimidation tactics. She didn’t really see her reputation as a good thing, it was more of a necessary thing. She’d never chosen to make people scared of her, but it didn’t come naturally either. It was just something she needed to do, it was a safeguard. “Please, I’m the queen of creative revenge. Absolute obliteration. The kid’ll never see it coming.”
Auggie sighed as the conversation was pulled back to ambrosia—or lack thereof. “You’re not calling me an idiot, you’re just implying it?” she suggested. “Bold move, Gorman, you better watch your back. She pulled a face at the suggestion that she was following in his footsteps. “I would never,” she scoffed. “But if you’re trying to trick me into taking some I can tell you right now that’s not gonna work.”

mentioned: auggie╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ "see, you're getting it!" he cheered, aware of how quickly she regretted the word coming from her mouth. it was a little victory, one that filled him with a glee that seemed inappropriate, given the subject matter only a few sets of ten minutes previous, and the nature of what was going on outside of the cabin walls. they needed the moments like these to keep going. the tiny ones, where the biggest problem was trying to figure out what nickname would annoy the other the most. "oh, i can't pretend that. you know i can't. it'll be drilled into my head for an eternity to come. the day of reckoning. the day that good came to pass, oh - beautiful."
"i'm going to bring you to ireland and i'm going to watch you flounder," he said, grinning at the idea. "you'd not be able to handle it. it'd be like stepping into a different dimension. you think camp's bad? don't need hellhounds in cork, we've got fluthered fellas throwing shapes outside the offy." the words came naturally, and yet in the environment, they almost sounded wrong.- they didn't the air. "and - and no disrespect on bagpipes. they're a noble instrument," orin chided. "just 'cos it's not a jaunty tune that you can tap your little foot to - it's the noise of battle. it gets warriors fighting the english. and fighting the english is a gallant and justified thing to do." even without the history behind those words, with the threat of kingston on the horizon, it seemed more fitting than ever.
"no, i'm not implying anything. you think i've got the brain power to imply? i'm dense. thick as -" no, maybe he'd hold off on saying that. "i'm just saying, if you think that i was being a bit of a moron last night, then - well, glass houses, right? i'd never say that, because i don't want to invoke your wrath, great as it may be. i'm just... giving you some food for thought. and some more food for thought is -" he thought for a moment. "i would probably manage to have some more, sort out my mug - i know i don't look as excellent and graceful as i normally do - if i knew that there was gonna be someone else necking it with me. if there's anyone you can think of who'd be up for that, you... you should let me know. get me in touch with 'em." an innocent-looking smile. "me? trick? i don't have it in me. just 'cos i'm irish, you're comparing me to a mischief-making leprechaun? i should be offended. i almost am. i'm - seething. raging, actually." well. he certainly didn't sound it.

Cassandra Peters|19|Hermes/Cabin|11|Head Counselor|Loc: Dining Pavilion|Tags/Mentions:Juliet,Aggy,open
Cass partially listened in to Aggy and Juliet's conversation mostly concentrating on finishing her breakfast. Cass put a few pieces of bacon in her pocket for Edgar when he would show up for food. Cass watched rather shocked at the explosiveness of Aggy's exit from the table. Cass snorting slightly at Juliet's comment "You're one to talk kid" she mused thinking about all of the trouble Jules had gotten into that she would have to drag her out of. After finishing her coffee and getting up "Not that you'll listen but stay out of trouble" Cass instructed her younger half-sister ruffing Jules hair affectionately"And that goes for the rest of you" she added sternly to the remaining Hermes campers before heading off in the direction of the woods. Cass figured that she could work on some friendship bracelets to get her mind off the upcoming quest and making funeral shrouds at least until seeing everyone off.

Jack "Reese" Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: woods | tags: Emmie "Ice cream sounds good actually." Reese said, smiling for real. Although he shoud probably be put off by the cold, he had found that it never bothered him anyway, being a son of Hades and all. He turned to catch her eye, and noticed she was staring at the dirt floor of the arena. Oh crap, did I offend her? He blinked away his tears, a new mission calling him.
This time, he said it more enthusiastically. "I mean, I would love to! Come on, let's see what the dining pavilion has stashed!" If we time it right, I bet we can cut in when everyone is distracted by the meeting, no nymphs to stop us! He offered her an arm, well aware of the odd grandiosity of the gesture, but too used to it to hold himself back. " My treat, what do you say, Natasha Romanoff?" He asked, lifting an eyebrow. He had only seen the Avengers once, but he did recall the name of the fiery redhead, and it seemed to fit this one just as well.
He flashed her a grin, prefering to move forward than to dwell on the recent events. And let's hope she does too.
Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Dining pavilion---> Cabin 10 | tags: Aydan, Celeste, | She beamed at her sister's comment about camp being 'like a village'. "Yeah, just like that!" Except when the monsters come in... but we'll tackle that later. Celeste was gazing wistfully at something, and Ophelia tried to follow her eyes, but she couldn't see what had caught the senior's attention. She frowned, about to reach out a hand to touch her shoulder and bring Celeste back to reality, but she was too late. Celeste was already gingerly picking up both cases, ready to deliver them to their new home. She noticed that the women seemed rather careful of her belongings, not entrusting either case to Ophelia, despite how heavy they looked. A girl after my own heart, she thought, a crooked grin covering up the memories such a sight dragged up.
Aydan, who appeared to have hurriedly guzzled down his drink from the look of it, was back at it with the banter. Her grin widened, then disappeared when he called her 'Lia'. Easy now, he doesn't know, that's all. Her mind was stubborn though, jerking her back to yesterday morning and all the promises of the summer, a warm and bright summer, so full of possibilities. And a girl who called me 'Elia'. Ophelia swallowed, barely able to hear the rest of the words out of his mouth.
He stretched, and she flicked, her gaze away as his shirt lifted a touch, a blush coloring her cheeks. How in Olympus is he not freezing? She wondered, the Child of Khione part running over her head for the time being. "Ah-Actually, would you mind watching Mira's bags while we're gone? I'm sure she'll be back in a minute, but you can never be too careful!" And I'd hate to let her down by having that Juliet girl steal it under my watch. She smiled at him, practically beaming. Uh, earth to Ophelia, YOU LOOK WEIRD! She smothered the too big smile and pulled herself away. She knew what was happening, and it felt like a knife in her gut. You're not winning that easily, Mother. She fumed, striding out ahead of Celeste.
"The cabins are this way! Currently we have twenty-five, but we're always adding some." She glanced over her shoulder at Celeste, a look of mock severity on her face. "And I should warn you, cabin ten is kind of like a dollhouse. Whoever designed it had very...traditional ideas for Aphrodite kids." She lead over the path others had beaten through the snow, the pink door easy to spot among the other cabins. She plunged onward, trying not to crane her neck to check on Aydan. After all, it would bw just what her mother would want her to do.[color=#C11B17]Agatha "
