Meet FernHawk and EarthStripe, FernHawk was sent by starclan to act as a balance to spiderleap. traditionally starclan does not pick advisors but SpiderLeap accepts the recommendation. ➣ Peachmoon let out a low hiss as she dragged the corpse of a rabbit through the cold morning. The molly was grumbling about one thing or another, and she was in an obviously sour mood.

"If Ashstream finds out about this I'm done for," She murmured to herself.

"Peachmoon?" The voice startled her, and she spun around. Wisteriapaw was standing in front of her, blinking curiously. "What are you doing?"

"Don't worry about it, it's warrior stuff, you wouldn't understand," Peachmoon shrugged, pushing the rabbit into a nearby bush with her hind paw.

"It looks like your hiding something..." Wisteriapaw frowned.

"No no no, it's just warrior business," Peachmoon said, beginning to grow frustrated. "There's nothing to worry about."

"I'm going to tell Horizonstar if you don't tell me what's going on!"

"Fine," Peachmoon rolled her eyes. "I was out hunting on my own and I caught a rabbit."

She moved the foliage aside to reveal the prey that was now growing cold. Wisteriapaw was getting on her nerves, and if she didn't get out of her fur, there would be serious consequences.

"I didn't want to share with anyone, but I guess you caught me," Peachmoon said casually, though she was lying.

She planned to stuff the rabbit full of death berries and feed it to Zephyrrush. He was getting in her way, and it was about time he died. But Wisteriapaw had interrupted her, and it was seriously angering her.

"If you share some with me I won't tell Horizonstar!" Wisteriapaw said boldly, smirking.

"You shouldn't even be out of camp alone without permission," Peachmoon hissed, narrowing her golden eyes. "I don't understand why you think you have some power over me, but that thought needs to die right now."

The sly look melted off of Wisteriapaw's face as Peachmoon's harsh tone cut through her confidence. The warrior's eyes were ice cold, and she was letting her frustration leak through her calm mask.

"Take a few bites and then get out of my fur," Peachmoon spat.

Wisteriapaw skittered towards the rabbit quickly. She bent down to take a bite of the rabbit but was caught by surprise as she felt a pair of teeth sink into her scruff. The brown tabby let out a startled cry, and she started flailing.

"Quit squirming!" Peachmoon growled through the smaller cat's fur.

"Let me go!" Wisteriapaw begged. "I'm sorry!"

"Oh you'll be sorry alright," Peachmoon snarled.

The cream warrior dragged the younger molly towards the river that split their territory at the base of the mountains. Wisteriapaw let out a startled cry once again, but Peachmoon ignored her, dragging her closer to the edge of the water.

"I-I can't swim!" Wisteriapaw sobbed. "Stop! Please! I'm sorry- I won't tell anyone about this!"

Peachmoon let go of Wisteriapaw's scruff, spitting out some of her fur and blood. The brown apprentice was too terrified to do anything but stay in place and tremble. Peachmoon's face was completely blank, devoid of any emotion. Everything around them was eerily quiet aside from the bubbling of the stream. It seemed as if the world had stopped, as if everything around them was waiting anxiously to see what Peachmoon would do next.

"I can't swim," Wisteriapaw whimpered again. "Please-"

"I know you can't swim," The molly replied, her voice as cold as ice. "But you're going to get in that river anyways."

"W-What?"

"Did I stutter?" The warrior crept closer to Wisteriapaw, making her tremble even harder. "Get in the water."

"I'll die!" She gasped.

"Then die," Peachmoon hissed. "This is your punishment for disobeying the clan. Don't you want to be a true warrior? Or are you a coward?"

Her words stung like frostbite, and Wisteriapaw let out a conflicted whimper. With shaking paws, the smaller she-cat stepped into the river. The water only came up to her chest, and relief flooded through her. But it wouldn't last for long. Peachmoon had no intention of letting the apprentice live. She couldn't risk it at all.

"Go deeper," The older molly ordered.

"W-What?" Wisteriapaw's eyes widened. "Please, Peachmoon-"

"Go. Deeper."

The little tabby obeyed hesitantly, padding further into the middle of the stream until the water was up to her chin. She feared that if she attempted to turn around, she would be swept away from the current. The water was cold, not yet warmed up by the sun of the daytime.

"Good luck," Peachmoon spat, before turning around.

Wisteriapaw let out a desperate shriek as the warrior turned away from her.

▶ ʀᴇᴘᴜᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ
the cats of pinewatch are cold and tough. raised on the values of strength and honor, they care only for their family and homeland. every cat is a hard worker and tough fighter. the cats of pinewatch have truly earned their title as the most fearsome cats in the cold dark pine forest they inhabit.
▶ ʀᴀɴᴋs
king/queen- they only have 1 life. they will rule the kingdom until the blood ruler dies, when that happens their mate retires and the heir ascends to king/queen status.
heirs- children of the king and queen. can become the next rulers if they win the duels.
advisors- aid the king/queen. there may be multiple and usually end up mentoring the heirs.
herbalists- they work with medicines and heal. they also work closely with the god’s and get their messages.
soldiers- they go on patrols and defend the territory.
hunters- hunt for the kingdom
trainees- usually 7 moons, they are being trained as a herbalist, soldier, or hunter.
mothers- expecting kits
younglings- kits
retired- soldiers and hunters that are too old to continue their work.
▶ ᴛʀᴀᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴs
the duels- the duels only happen when the current king/queen dies. all capable heirs are allowed to participate (this includes former heirs, and children of former heirs). the duels are a simple bracket like competition, the pairs are determined by a random drawing of names. the contest will last for as long as it takes for the final winner to be chosen. no cat should die during the duels, as it is to be seen as a simple fight, but every once in a while someone might get carried away. it is very rare for former heirs to allow their offspring to enter the competition, and usually direct heirs of the recently dead king/queen win as the former heirs are sometimes too old to compete.
test of strength and honor- when a trainee is old enough and seen fit to be accepted into their respective rank they must take this test. the purpose of the test is to prove that they can use their skills to survive on their own. their mentors will escort them to a location they haven’t seen before and are tasked with surviving and making their way back to camp within 4 days. if they do not return to camp after 3 days they will be presumed dead. if they do manage to return back to camp after the 3 days they will be allowed to join the ranks but they will not receive their full name and will be seen as an outcast.
▶ ɴᴀᴍᴇs
the naming system isn’t too complicated and follows standard warriors rules with a prefix and suffix, but there are some rules and exceptions the kingdom does make.
-there are no -paw or -kit, they will have their prefix until they pass the test.
-the king/queen will keep the name they were given when they passed their test
-sometimes families will pass down the prefix of dead relatives, although this is commonly seen with the old families and royal family. usually with the prefixes of iconic figures.
-certain prefixes may be outlawed. by “outlaw” it would be very cruel to name a kit after them.
-trainees who do not pass their test but still return to camp will not be given a suffix

Kitewhisker sneezed. She groaned as her head thudded down on the shaman den’s floor. Her face was hot and it seemed as if every muscle in her body was crying. Her chest was heaving and her stomach was empty. The deputy hadn’t been able to hold anything down for more than a few hours. Her head hurt from the small seizures she had been suffering from. Oleanderthorn was stumped. She had never seen anything like this, and the Guardian hadn’t either. The cats had denominated the mystery disease as Whiteshock, coming from the white patches of skin now visible from Kitewhisker’s once thick pelt, and the shocking jolts of the seizures. Kitewhisker’s remaining fur hung loosely from her hip bones, which jutted out from her body. She hadn’t been eating at all and the deputy weighed less than Tigerpaw. She was kept in the far room of the shaman’s den, with limited contact with everyone. She had only started exhibiting signs of the new illness a few sunrises ago, but she was already in such bad shape that Oleanderthorn worried about her. Luckily, no one else in RavenClan had exhibited any symptoms. At least not yet.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Meanwhile, the cats of RavenClan were going about their usual day-life. Featherchest was warming herself in the sun as Seedshine groomed her back.
“You won’t believe who I met at the gathering!” She meowed, whiskers twitching in delight. Seedshine hummed and Featherchest continued. “His name is Cloudstripe. He’s a little grumpy, but super sweet once you get to know him! We even started flirting towards the end. I think he really likes me.” She felt Seedshine’s lapping stop.
“Wh-What?” She whimpered “B-But Featherchest, we’re...we’re mates! I love you! And he’s a tom. I thought you didn’t like toms.”
“I’m pan.” Featherchest meowed warmly “And it doesn’t mean I don’t love you either! I just...I think I like Cloudstripe too.” Seedshine flattened her ears and wrinkled her nose, eyes narrowing.
“Am I not enough for you?” She grumbled, flicking an ear. She looked so much like her father in that moment that it took Featherchest a moment to realize it was her own love. She answered steadily.
“Of course you are! Why can’t I love more than one cat. Skinknose’s mate is like that. Cometcrash, Stratusflight and Turtletoes are like that! Why can’t we be like that?”
“Because I hardly know this tom!” Seedshine cried.
“I’m not asking for you two to become mates right now. Guardian’s sake, I don’t even know if we’ll become mates anytime soon. But I really do like him. Besides, he’s in another Clan. You’re here, you’ve always been here. You were first in my heart and you’ll always be here. But I have plenty of love to give to both of you!” As Featherchest spoke, she could see Seedshine begin to relax. She gave a huff of air.
“I suppose you’re right.” She admitted “I’m sorry I snapped at you like that. I love you more than the world, and I support you no matter what. If Cloudstripe is okay with it, I wouldn’t mind you taking both of us as your mate.” Featherchest let out a large purr and pulled her mate close to her and pressed her muzzle into her neck.
“Don’t look so worried.” She mumbled “He’s a good tom.”
“He better be.” Seedshine scoffed “If he’s not I’ll-”
“Shh.” Featherchest chuckled, raising a paw to her mouth “Let’s just enjoy the sun, yea?” Seedshine’s eyes softened and she nodded. And the two did just that, while their deputy was willowing away in the dark.

“Lionspark is such a simp.” Haypelt scoffed. Reefpelt cuffed her mate over the ears.
“Be nice.” She hissed.
“I’m just telling the truth!” Haypelt yelped “All he does is follow Cypresstail around all day, trying to wait on his every need.”
“He’s just in love.” Reefpelt sighed.
“Same thing.”
“Do you love me?”
“O-Of course.” Haypelt gasped.
“Then you’re a simp.”
