Owlkit sat glaring at the cats watching him, hissing if they came closer than a couple of feet. "Stay away from me, you filthy fur bags!"

His mind relived the memory of first coming upon Ghostflight as a kit, his heart filling with nostalgia and pain. Without further thinking, he raced off towards CloudClan, only one thought in his mind. Eventually, he made it to the camp entrance, out of breath and energized at the same time. He peered inside the camp and tried to look for a kit that reminded him of his fallen surrogate son.

Without missing a beat, Tanglefur started to pad toward away, "Come on Brambleflight, we need to go to the stars mirror. If anyone knows what's happening, it ought to be starclan. They can tell you what to do. And don't bother trying to stop me from going with you, I'm coming whether you like it or not," she said half-jokingly. She loved her mate and wanted him to know what to do.

"With all due respect, Tanglefur," she interrupted, "you're a queen close to having kits. You don't need to be making the trip to Stars Mirror. Besides, that is a sacred place for medicine cats and leaders."

He snuck out of camp with Silentpaw and was greeted by a muscular tom. "Ghostspirit, is this him?" He quivered as he realized there was a she-cat about as large as him right behind him. "We're only trying to help!" He whispered but squared up in case this could get nasty.

He looked up at the sky, seeing that it was nearly morning. "Listen," he growled to the apprentices. "This doesn't concern you. I'm here for someone named Owlkit." He flexed his claws, making sure the cats saw. "I could easily do significant harm to both of you. So how about you help me before I help myself?" He didn't realize that these cats were already trying to help him.

Birdcreek let out a horrified gasp. "You-you are trying to give him away? Just because he's different!" Birdcreek stumbled over to Owlkit and picked him up by the scruff. In a muffled voice, she said, "I don't know who you are, but get off of Cloudclan Territory."
