The pets are within 3 months of each other, so it's fair in that sense. Though, many people don't go by the 3 month rule if there is a jump between years (like in this trade). So with that in consideration it'd be a little bit unfair to you.

The Avocado goes for .5-.75 nons. The pink balloon = .5 nons.
So, this depends on how you value the Avocado.

The rarity of more recent store pets doesn't matter much as they all cost(ed) around the same in C$ upon release. Roughly, theirs is worth a late 2010 rare and yours is worth a mid 2010 rare.
They need to add a 2010 uncommon or so to make up the gap.
