"I should just give up. Thorngaze loves her more, I'm sure." Thrushpaw looked disgusted, "Are you kidding me?!" She was taken aback by the way her normally kind and quiet apprentice growled at her and she flinched, "That's not the Sageleap I know. Since when is it okay to give up?" Thrushpaw accused, "Remember when I wanted to be an apprentice but I thought I'd never be able to and you told me that? Use your own philosophy and get back on track." He looked away and Thrushpaw suddenly had an idea! "I know!" He lowered his voice into a quiet whisper and told her his plan. She nodded and said 'uh-huh'. "Well, then, you already brought her something today! Tomorrow after training we'll leave something for her again!" Sageleap smiled weakly at his enthusiasm but she would follow along just to say she tried, he was right after all. Neither of them were allowed to give up.

Littlepaw was about to go to sleep, when Silverpaw popped in. " Littlepaw, I have a thorn in my paw, could you get it?"

After Thrushpaw left she trudged back to camp, upset and she realized Willowsplash was outside. She tripped when she saw her and felt a ton of embarrassment, "Ow..." She muttered slightly irritated with herself. "Um, what are you doing out so late?" She asked but quickly added learning from her last mistake, "Not that you have to tell me, none of my business."
