But really to him, its like this.
Akari: Mate, Alpha female, Female
Him: Alpha Male, Akari's mate
Alpha female and Alpha male are mates
By Chemical accepting the challenge, she's challenging for the alpha female spot.
If he remains in his place as the alpha male he'd - for some reason - feel obligated to be her mate. And probably give her pups.
So to avoid that, he's going to make her challenge and fight both of them. Not at the same time though.
