The group of cats cleared out of the way and Bramblewind was at the very far back, simply listening.

Emberheart shuddered. Bramblewind? The son of this monster? "No," she murmured, in denial. What if Bramblewind betrayed them too? What if he was only infiltrating the clan, not meaning to help them? And why was Wolfstar defending Rowanscar? She had betrayed the clan!

"No! I will not see that monster! She abandoned me! Get her out of here!" I snarled at Wolfstar. I looked over at my mother's face. I no longer saw the angry face I had seen for years and saw my mother's sad face that I had only seen right after my father and siblings had died

Wolfstar

He read her expression, "Just because I wish an old friend followed a path she shouldn't have doesn't mean I'm not allowed to say it couldn't have been her!" He snapped losing his patients for the first time at Emberheart. He turned back to Brokenwillow, "He wishes you dead, basically. Now go!"

Brokenwillow:

My heart broke as Bramblewind spoke and I crumpled on the ground unable to move. "Burningleaf" I called weakly "help me"

Tanglefur I Bramblewind
Tanglefur leaned up against bramblewind and snarled at brokenwillow. "Go away before I tear your fur off," she growled aggressively. Her wounds hadn't fully healed but she had come along because she wanted her clan to be safe. The shame on Bramblewind's face made her get so aggressive. How DARE any cat make bramblewind upset.

Burningleaf heard Brokenwillow's distressed yelling and ran to her side. She was nearly surrounded by clan cats, collapsed on the ground. "Brokenwillow!" he cried. He jumped in front of her in a protective stance. His gaze met Wolfstar's, one he hadn't seen in many, many moons.

Rowanscar

She heard her cry for help and ran to save her but came to a scene she wasn't expecting, "You dare not welcome your mother, Bramblewind? I'm just glad she has a daughter to be proud of." She glared at the faces and saw Wolfstar's, "Wolfstar- I'm sorry to leave you like this but she is my family. You stopped paying attention for me and left me for her, congrats on your litter. I wish only you well." Wolfstar stood strong but cried, he'd hoped to never see her where they told him she had become. "Go..." He muttered in etween tears, "Take your leader and never return." Rowanscar felt broken, "I'm affraid that I can't promise that..." She helped Brokenwillow up and left.

He watched as Brokenwillow and Rowanscar walked away. He bared his fangs at Wolfstar. "You hurt her," he snarled, staying tense in case he needed to fight. "The people in the Dark Forest are there because we make them feel welcome when none of you ever did."

She looked back to see Lilywhisker's reaction to Rowanscar's harsh words. She never realized that Rowanscar had felt that way about Wolfstar...
