Willowpaw's throat felt dry and raspy, her head dizzy. "I think....um....yes, Ghostkit. She's in StarClan." Her voice broke.

Fawnleap jumped a bit when Willowpaw began yelling, too busy talking to Wolfstar to originally notice what was going on. She dipped her head quickly to her leader as a silent apology for leaving their conversation before rushing over to Willowpaw. "What's wrong?" She asked just as her gaze landed on Sagekit. Without saying anything else she pushed forward to examine the kit. She heard no heartbeat when she leaned down to put an ear on her chest. Fawnleap shook her head a bit and murmured in a soft whisper, "Sagekit is gone."

"Whats going on in here? Your all acting as if something had-----Sagekit? Is she alright? Whats wrong with her? Whats wrong with her!"

She turned to Fawnleap sadly. How do you tell a queen her kit was dead?

"No...no my precious baby, please, wake up. Im right here, please. Don't leave me. Sagekit, please!" With grief in her eyes, she turned to Willowpaw. "How did this happen?"

"I'm sorry..." Fawnleap managed to say after a moment of silence. Her head was ducked down and ears drawn back with the sorrow but the medicine cat knew that her own grief would be nothing compared to how Mosscloud had to be feeling. "Sagekit has joined StarClan." She whispered softly.

"She and Ghostkit were play fighting...and..." She turned to see Ghostkit. Pain struck her chest. "Ghostkit accidentally suffocated— Ghostkit accidentally suffocated her. He didn't mean to, I saw it."

"What...what is wrong with you! I leave you alone for one second and you kill my kit! Get out! I never want to see you again you monster!" Mosscloud snarled and slashed Ghostkit across the face, leaving a mark down it. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" Mosscliud screeched at ghostkit.

Fawnleap
Fawnleap flinched away from Mosscloud even though the blow was nowhere near her. It sickened her to watch a mother taking her rage out on her own kit. "Ghostkit, come on. Let's leave your mother alone." She tried to encourage the kit to follow her out of the den.

Willowpaw gasped as the queen put misplaced rage on her own kit. She jumped in front of her swipe, but not soon enough to fully block it, Ghostkit still getting a nasty cut across the face. She felt her shoulder stung as Mosscloud's claws finished their path. "He's not even an apprentice yet! He didn't know what he was doing!"
