Jane “Jay” orchid River|| Host of Anubis|| Female|| 16 yrs old|| tags: open

Jay Walks through the Brooklyn streets humming to herself. “Jay don’t we need to be some where?” Says Anubis. Jay smiles and says back “Anubis don’t worry so much” “come on Jay...” groans Anubis. Jay keeps walking and says “We will be there Jackal” “Jay I told you not to call me that” Anubis says Angrily “Anubis, please be calm or do you want me to spontaneously Cumbust?” The Image of Anubis in her Brain frowns and says “ok...” Jay smiles and says “Anubis?” “Yes Jay?” Asks the god of funerals. “What do you think the Kane’s are doing at the moment?” Anubis is silent for a minute and says “well I think they are good” He runs a Hand through his Dark disheveled hair. Jay smirks and says “we should go check on Camp Half Blood” “Well don’t you have Avalon near you?” Asks the jackal god “yeah she’s right beside me” “I can get you though the duat... go down that alley there so we don’t attract attention” Jay walks down the alley and holds her hand out “can you take me to Camp Half blood Anubis?” The god nods and says “yep!” A dark doorway opens and Jay walks though..

Once jay is out of the Portal she looks around. They landed directly in the middle of Camp Half blood. “Hmm.. Let’s go find Chiron” “Ok let’s go look” Jay yawns and find Chiron “hello Chiron” the centaur smiles and says “Hello jay” jay smiles and says “Can I stay in the Hades cabin tonight?” Anubis rolls his eyes and says quietly “jay.. you seem tired” Jay says to Anubis “yeah I am” Chiron nods and says “Roxanne can take you to the hades cabin” Jay smiles and says “thanks Chiron”

“Hello Jane” she leads her to the hades cabin and says “you can pick a bunk” Jay picks the top bunk at the end of the cabin and drifts off to sleep.....

no campfire song tonight─

When Chiron asked Will to hold onto his thoughts until the announcements were finished, he did so, stepping back with his hands bashfully folded. He felt his cheeks grow hot from the embarrassment, but the sound of a voice calling his name caused him to look up. "Who?" He asked the question originally, but he recognized the nickname just as fast. "Hu!" He kept his voice quiet, as not to interrupt Chiron. "It's good t' see at least someone remembers me." he beamed, as bright as one could in the current context. He prepared to answer Hu's question with a repetition of what he'd been told by the centaur, but Will was cut off by Juliet's interjection. "Wait. Your name is Wilhelm?" Apparently, that was a shock. "Er, yessim?" He responded, the "yes ma'am" slurring together. She made a snide comment about her inability to make a joke, but the conversation ended there as Chiron continued.

He missed a few bits and pieces, but he tuned in at the right moment to hear the beginning of the list of deceased campers. "Those lost tonight. Treble Mason of Cabin Five, Brendon Bauer of Cabin Twelve..." Will felt a strange sense of disjunction when hearing the names. He recognized a few here and there, but he found it difficult to put a face to the names. Will didn't feel sad, at least not in the way he felt he ought to. He gave Hu a friendly shoulder pat in place of a hello as the list continued. "... Gianna Cooper of Cabin Eleven, Dara Patel of Cabin Fifteen, Horace Smith of Cabin Nine..." Cabin nine. Will's cabin. He made a noise─he wasn't quite sure what it sounded like─as he struggled to put a face to the name. Horace... he recalled a short, stocky blonde from Minnesota. He remembered that he often did weapon repairs for some of the campers, but wasn't much of a tinkerer himself. Will and Horace kept the forges tidy and always kept their scrap on hand for the satyrs. I didn't even get to say goodbye... Wilhelm regretted his time spent away from camp, as well as their detour in the Grey Sisters' taxi.

Will was thankful to hear the Apollo cabin wouldn't be ending the campfire in song like usual, as he didn't think Lucy would treat the situation properly if given such an opportunity. Once the campers were dismissed, Will obliged to Chiron's beckon. "Pardon for interruptin' you earlier, Chiron sir." He spoke quietly, his voice just barely above the wind and crackling fires. He was blissfully unaware of the fox lurking behind him, but he recounted the events prior to his arrival at camp. "It started snowin' on my way up 'ere, when the plane was landin'." Will explained. "Too cold fer walkin' y'see, so Lucy─one of the Apollo girls─ she an' I called the Grey Sisters' taxi. Them three were none too happy with th' weather neither, but they said it was a ruckus startin' up from Khione's brooding." He glanced around to see if he could spot Lucy, as having a second opinion might prevent him from mucking up the facts. He didn't, so he continued. "We asked 'em what she was plannin' but them witches don't like t' give it t' you straight. I don' know them from Adam's off ox, but they started talkin' when Lucy took th' wheel. Said Khione's been cookin' this up fer years now, a wicked plan." He paused to recall their exact words. "Er, a "diabolical plan, with a partner to match." They say she ain't workin' alone, but they didn't give us a name. They were afraid t' even speak of 'im. I ain't never heard of no god like that."

Lucy offered the other teen a sly grin. "Of course they told me." She laughed. "It's need-to-know information, buuuuut I think I'll make an exception for you." The daughter of Apollo poked Skylar right on the tip of her nose. "Khione." She whispered, speaking as though the truth behind the whole charade were a massive secret. "The goddess of snow has apparently been planning this for years, and she's got a big, nasty plan in the works and all this now is just the start of it." She paused for dramatic effect. "They also told me Khione has a partner in crime. Some big, scary god that they wouldn't name. In fact, they refused because it sounded like they were scared to." She giggled. "Can you imagine? A god so bad that someone like the Grey Sisters doesn't even mention them? What a joke! It's probably like, Hades or Ares." Lucy offered a shrug. "They don't sound very scary to me."

Had the situation been different, Aiden would've shoved an elbow into Caleb's side. "Can it." He growled instead, not putting off much of an intimidating air regardless. He hoped─no, he prayed─Camp Half-Blood would remain intact during his leave. Not that it required him to function, despite his attempts to integrate himself into its infrastructure. He looked around; at a glance, he didn't see Cres or Kade. Where could those two be? He felt the thought growing into a mantra. The look of the Lieutenant didn't settle well with him either, as he caught her eye as he scanned the crowd. Laika had a very commanding presence, even if she was only a hunter. Chiron made it crystal clear (as he always did) that campers and hunters alike were not to start fights over petty disputes. Aiden was guilty of this to some degree, but regardless, he still offered a pointed look towards a collection of the Ares campers. Uncharacteristically, they were all still, drinking up Chiron's words the same as anyone else. The events of the day had truly taken their toll.

The mention of camp Jupiter threw Aiden for a loop, if only that he'd forgotten it existed. It was a yearly reminder when the Hunters came to visit if nothing else. Aside from Laika, he'd never met another demigod from their Roman counterpart, though he wouldn't deny the bitterness he felt towards them in regards to his mother, Minerva, as the Romans called her. The Magicians were a whole other world, and Aiden found him dissociating anytime the group was mentioned. Then came the bombshell; the quest and the prophecy. The sea of murmuring was no surprise, though Chiron's statement about not forcing anyone to go was. This quest began to feel like an exception to a lot of familiar rules, but these weren't familiar circumstances. The mention of burial shrouds for the questers made Aiden shudder. "I guess the Athena cabin has at least one of those to work on..." He hoped that it would be the only one. "But here's where we find out."

"Those lost tonight. Treble Mason of Cabin Five, Brendon Bauer of Cabin Twelve, Gianna Cooper of Cabin Eleven..." This list felt achingly long, each name driving a thorn deeper and deeper into Aiden's heart. He felt something freeze against his cheek but quickly scrubbed his tears away. Now isn't the time. Thankfully, Kaden and Cresolis' names were absent from the list. That meant they were hiding around somewhere... unless one of them was unlucky number 18. With the announcements drawing to a close, Aiden felt exhaustion wash over him. He'd been running on fumes up to this point, and his consistent refusal of ambrosia was taking its toll. Once the final words were spoken, the Athena head counselor did a quick glance throughout the thinning crowd, spotting both of the missing Athena campers heading towards their cabin. He released a relieved sigh at the sight; one more thing to cross off his list of things to worry about. "I think it's best if we settle all the details in the morning, I'm beat. Deal?" He stuck out his hand to Caleb as he started heading towards their cabin.

head counselor ♀/15 years daughter of Poseidon tags/mentions: Juliet, Will

Oh the way to cabin 3, Hu spotted a silvery flicker at her feet. Ling. “Back so soon, Zero fox?” she said. The kitsune gave an indignant squeak. “LING! LANGUAGE!” she said, rubbing the fox’s head. Then she urged her to continue, and Ling told Hu about Khione, and the goddess’s

Hu listened to Ling’s series of squeaks and chirps, along with some rather intense tail gestures. At one point the nine tails seemed to be arms of an octopus playing the xylophone. It was a weird image to conjure, but these were weird times. After Ling’s spiel, Hu turned to Juliet. “Man, there is a lot to tell you. Come on, I’ll tell you in the cabin: it’s top secret.”. And with that, she continued dragging her friend towards her cabin.

When they arrived, Hu pulled out a bag of prawn chips and some green apple soda, handing one to Juliet. She decapitated a hose and set the spray in front of their bunk. Sure, the wall would get a mild shower, but that was the least of their worries. Pulling a drachma out of seemingly thin air, she tossed it into the headless hose’s spray. “Oh Iris, goddess of rainbows, show me the nearest 5 star theater that’s playing Hamilton. And put us in the front row, please” she said, and the mist obliged. Boom. They had a front-row seat to the best musical in the world. Hopefully no one would turn around and see a giant image of two beat-up teens.

Henry "Hank" Walker | 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: outside Cabin 7--> walking--> Cabin 7 | tags: Niji, Dante (NPC)---> Izzy| mentions:

Hank looked surprised, then worried at the sight of Niji, holding a doughnut, which they proclaimed was for Hank. He glanced around and sure enough, there were tracks leading to... The dining pavilion, probably. "Uh, thanks, but I can't accept that at the moment, you should eat it after all the energy you just exerted getting it!" He scolded, completely ignoring the Laika comment. Dante pushed in front of him, stepping forward to examine the patient. "As much as I hate to admit it, golden boy said something sensible for once. But wait until I've got you fixed up first, I doubt polysaccharides will come out of this shirt." Dante said. Hank let it slide, focused on making sure Niji would be okay, then nodding to them as Dante checked them over. "I've got some matters to attend to, hollar if you need me!" He said with a tight smile. Matters like burial shrouds, which he'd have to get to later, but also matters like his dog, who was oddly missing.

He ambled toward the forge once more, looking for tracks as he headed toward it. Maybe she's sleeping in there? He wondered, hauling open the door to search for a furry body in the firelight. "Hey, Izzy-girl!" He called, but she didn't come running. Maybe Chiron was right about keeping her on a lead. He thought sourly as he closed the heavy door.

He set off toward the woods, and this time he found a nondescript set of dog tracks. Why would she go here? He put a few fingers to his lips and whistled for her, heart panging in the empty seconds that she didn't appear by his side. He tried again, louder this time. Finally, he could make out the shape of a fuzzy blur rushing toward him. At last! "Atta girl! Where've you been, huh?" He asked her, joyously rubbing his hands over her ears. He snapped her lead back on as he did so, turning to move them back to the cabin, but she set her weight against him, whining and pulling toward the woods. "Izzy, I'll play with you in the morning. Come on!" He said, setting off once more to cabin 7, with her reluctantly trailing behind.

Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Cabin 22 | tags: Aydan |

She sighed heartily as they entered the cabin and the emotion static from other people was shut off by the thick walls. Thanks for small favors, she thought ruefully. It was hardly a prayer, but if her mother chose to construe it that way, so be it.
He gestured toward a bed, and she settled onto it. The cabin seemed to be even colder than outside, and Ophelia regretted agreeing to it, though not enough to manage the trek to her own bed, and the ceaseless whispering that awaited her. You went into the Cabin of the Snow Queen, what did you expect? She didn't have time to ponder that thought before he was talking again, asking her what she needed. That's...nice, I guess. She furrowed her brow, confused as to what he wanted from her. It's nice, but will a moment of silence cost me my reputation? She wondered, not excited of the idea of having to actually deal with people.

She wanted to say 'I'm fine. I just shiver for fun sometimes, really rejuvenates the muscles,' but he was once again talking. She took advantage of this to rub at her eyes with a sleeve, wearing away the remains of her tears.
Oh gods, it's just his first day. She reached out a hand to touch his shoulder, gentle but firm. The threat of him throwing it off was still pretty large, but her feelings were no longer the ones that were floating out of orbit.

"I'm sorry, it's not supposed to go like this." She said, remembering her own first summer. It had been awful, but not because it felt like the world was ending every five minutes. Speaking of summer, she was awfully cold in the cabin. She tentatively leaned closer to Aydan, mixing his want of comfort with hers for warmth. She kicked off her boots one by one, letting them lay where the fell. There was no one else in the cabin, Khione's been plotting this for a while, huh. " I don't know what happened today, but we're suppossed to be safe at camp." That agony couldn'tve been anything short of a death. She met his eyes. "I'll do my best to keep it that way, no matter what happens." She added, trying not to avoid his eyes when she remembered why she was here. Thanks mom, great choice in powers. Hey, next time you should give your kid 'afraid of their own shadow' I bet that'll help them make friends.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Center of Cabins with fire ---> Cabin 11| tags: Jamie, Cass | mentions: Juliet,

"As much as one can be," She told Jamie, drawn out of herself by the normalcy in all the chaos. Chiron had been just as bland as any teacher she'd known, with the exception of a few extra legs. She made to follow Juliet back to their cabin, until she noticed that the blonde was going in the wrong direction. Hmm, I'll have to remember not to ask Jewelweed for directions. She thought, turning about to make her way to cabin 11 and her blessedly non-bunk sleeping arrangements. She flooded in with the rest of the campers staying there, which quickly grew into a chaotic hoard. Jewelweed did say something about thieves earlier, she thought, shoving through to her bed in the back. She shrugged out of her day clothes and into pajamas, but laid her cutlass in such a way that she could rest a hand on the scabbard as she rested her eyes. In case these brats get any ideas, she told herself, before drifting into a heavy sleep.

Jack "Reese" Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: Cabin 13 | tags: Auggie? | mentions: Caleb, Auggie

Reese looked forward solemnly as Chiron listed off the dead, trying with all he had in him to strike forth a tear. It didn't work, it never did, but it sufficed in making him at least look pitiful, which should be enough. He stifled a yawn at the end of Chiron's announcements, scanning the crowds as he did so. He noticed Auggie staring off toward cabin one, and didn't bother following her gaze. Ask her about what she likes, that's how you make friends with girls! Grandma proudly told me after the first summer. Let's hope it still works. He told himself, making a mental note to talk to Auggie about it at a better time.

He started out toward cabin 13, his gaze still wandering those departing the campfire. This time they caught on the Aphrodite-no, Athena-boy from earlier, Caleb. He was talking to a smaller camper, probably Aiden, but Reese couldn't tell with them not facing the firelight, black as it was. He moved slowly toward his cabin, not trying to eavesdrop their conversation, but caught on the way the flickering fire painted shadows across Caleb's stubbly face. I bet that feels awesome! He thought to himself. Hmm, maybe I should grow some? He wondered, stroking his chin thoughtfully. But mine would be blond, it wouldn't look so dashing. It was about then that he realized he was staring, so he jerked his gaze away and pointedly eyed his cabin until he reached the door, struggling to prevent a stray glance over his shoulder, less they be convinced that he really was eavesdropping.

When he got inside, Auggie was already in bed, along with some of his other siblings, so he crept in quietly, avoiding the squeaky floorboards. He got changed and went to bed, glad to finally be in a shirt once more.

||Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Campfire --> Cabin 22 --> Cabin 10|Tags: Campfire Group --> Ophelia, Ayden --> Aphrodite Cabin|

Seeing as Chiron was busy, Mirabelle informed Mr. D of Alex's disappearance. The wine god pretended not to care in the slightest, but anyone could see he was plainly torn up about the situation. But what did she expect? He had lost a son, after all. Though she wouldn't normally rely on Mr. D to relay important information, these were different circumstances.
With that taken care of, she slipped away from her cabinmates and made her way towards Cabin 22 to check on Ophelia.
Though it was cold outside, she found no reprieve when she slipped into the Khione cabin. She paused in the doorway, ignoring her numbing feet as she silently peeked inside to check on her cabinmate.
Seeing that everything seemed to be alright, she shot a thumbs-up in Ayden's direction in case he noticed her and slipped right back out again. It's probably best for Ophelia to stay somewhere she won't be overwhelmed by all of the negative emotions, Mirabelle reckoned. A tiny part of her wished she could have that bliss as well, but she quickly silenced the selfish thought. The rest of her cabinmates needed her, now more than ever.
Mirabelle led her cabin from the fire to Cabin 10, holding open the door for each person as they passed before finally entering herself. Once inside, she quickly pulled off her frost-covered boots and mostly frozen socks, replacing them with not one but two pairs of fresh warm socks to fight off the chill. She joined her cabinmates in glumly going through the motions of their various bedtime routines.
When they had all gotten into bed, the sounds of sobbing and sniffling echoed throughout the small building. Mirabelle's heart ached. How can I make this less painful for them? She knew it would be an impossible task. But the least she could do was offer them a bit of comfort amidst so much grief and fear. She thought back on what always made her feel safe and loved when she was feeling down, and a few things came to mind. A warm drink, for one, as well as the butternut squash soup her father had always made her when she wasn't feeling well. Neither of those would do in this situation. But there was one thing... something that might actually help.
Mirabelle didn’t often sing in front of people. Not for lack of a beautiful voice, moreso for lack of confidence in herself. But her cabinmates needed consoling, and in her experience, a lullaby would do that. Regressing back to childhood comforts was common in situations like this. Situations like this. As if something so horrible affecting so many people has happened in my time here before. Choking her own emotions down, she did her best to keep her voice calm and steady. She sang a lilting melody; a particular Taylor Swift song that had always provided comfort to her when she was upset. She knew it was from some movie or something, but she honestly didn’t care nor know which one. It was the feeling of warmth and safety it gave her - that was the only thing that mattered.
“Just close your eyes, the sun is going down
You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now
Come morning light, you and I’ll be safe and sound.”

Despite how horrible she felt about doing so, Mirabelle wove a small amount of charmspeak into the chorus. The magic was fueled by her own pain and suffering, but more than anything, a desire to give her cabinmates just one peaceful rest. Some were certainly immune to it’s effects, but others... Well, she hoped it would give them some tranquility, even if just a sliver. She paced the cabin’s floor, passing by each camper’s bed as she walked. Making sure they were all as comfortable as possible given the circumstances. Anything to ease their pain, if only for a night. It was eerie, her song floating through the still air with no backing track or harmonies. But the cries and sobs were lessening, so she assumed that whatever she was doing was working.
Her voice faltered ever so slightly when she reached Alex’s bed.
Empty.
Just as she’d feared. 18 deaths, they had said. But only 17 bodies. It didn’t take a genius to connect the dots. Overwhelming guilt threatened to consume her. I should’ve been there. I should’ve been able to protect him. I should’ve - I should’ve done something. She felt a hot, salty tear trace its way down her face. She quickly brought a hand up and wiped it away before anyone could see, in guise of fixing a stray hair. Her voice had started shaking just the slightest bit, but she was almost to the end of the song. She would push through, like she always did.
She would be their calm in the storm.
When the last wordless verse of the song dissolved into the still night air, Mirabelle quietly slipped into bed. Exhausted as she was, she couldn’t keep everyone’s feelings from flooding her senses anymore. Her lungs were on fire from holding back all that emotion. Her head spun, even though she was lying down. She was numb, and yet so full of agony and despair all at once. She couldn’t breathe. She felt sick.
Though she wanted nothing more than to scream, to sob, to punch something, to let it all out somehow, she couldn’t. Not only for the fear upsetting her cabin even further, or the thought of being seen as vulnerable. She just didn’t know how to anymore. Years of repressing her feelings had led her to this. And when faced with something she couldn’t fight any longer; something she couldn’t hold back, she was utterly helpless. She turned over on her left side so that she was facing the wall. At least no one would see her tears. She hugged one of her pillows to her chest, curling her body around it almost as if it were another person. Gods, she wanted to break down. The emotions screamed for release, and she knew they would have their way with her one way or another. And so, she chose the mildly controlled route. She shoved her face into her pillow, clutching the soft fabric as if hanging on for dear life. The only indication of her expertly muffled crying were the occasional sniffles that emanated from her general area, though she tried her best to keep those to a minimum as well.

||Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Campfire --> Cabin 11 --> Cabin 2|Tags: Campfire Group, Wilhelm --> Hu|

"That sounds... nice actually. Maybe not the whole quest thing... uh, that's a lot of responsibility. I'll think about that or something. For now just... a movie and some prawn chips. Yeah. Sounds good." Juliet allowed herself to be dragged to Cabin 2, but once inside, she paused. "Hold on a sec - I gotta go get pajamas. And bring Romeo, if that's alright? He doesn't like sleeping without me. Uh, anyways - I'll be right back." She didn't wait for an answer before running off to the Cabin 11 to do the aforementioned.
Juliet sighed as she entered the Hermes cabin, thankful for the warmth it offered. Gods. She felt numb, sad, but mostly, just totally exhausted. The daughter of Hermes carefully undid her shoulder sling before changing into pajamas; her singular pair of black fuzzy pants and a Rolling Stones t-shirt. When she was fully changed, she put her winter coat and boots back on, keeling down to see Romeo peering at her from within his enclosure.
“Hey buddy. Sorry I didn’t get to spend much time with you today,” she whispered. “Today’s been... rough.” Tears filled her eyes as she glanced over at the empty bed of her fallen cabinmate, to remain empty until someone new claimed it. Even so, no one could replace what had been lost. She angrily swiped at them with the sleeve of her coat and turned back to the ferret.
“Could you... stay with me tonight? I’m gonna go over and sneak into Cabin 2.”
Romeo made a ‘dook’ sound, almost as if he understood exactly what she was asking. And according to the satyrs, he did. Juliet let him out of his enclosure and picked him up in her arms. She knew Hu’s fox could be potentially territorial and protective at times, but she was pretty confident that a little ferret wouldn’t bother her too much. With everything taken care of, Juliet snuck through the snow over to the stately building of Cabin 2.
The salty sea air that hit her senses as she entered was mildly uncomfortable; it brought back memories of her near-death experience in the ocean almost a decade earlier. She shook her head, pushing the dreaded memory to the back of her mind. She still hadn't told anyone about that yet. Whenever the idea of going swimming had come up in the past, she had either made some sort of excuse or just watched from the shore. Right. Present moment, Jules.
The daughter of Hermes waved to Hu as she made herself at home, shedding her coat and boots near the door. She made sure to be relatively quiet due to the active Iris message; she didn't necessarily want to draw any mortal attention to the misty apparition of two disheveled kids hanging out in a cabin. Juliet grabbed someone's blanket - not sure whose, or even if it belonged to anyone - and dragged it over to where Hu was sitting, tucking it around them.
Though she was a little annoyed that Hu had decided to watch Hamilton again, she was honestly just glad that it made the other girl so happy. Especially given everything they had been through that day. She set Romeo down, keeping an eye on him as he ran up to sniff Jing. The ferret dooked repeatedly and ran around her in a circle before scurrying back over to Juliet. He snatched a prawn chip and burrowed into the blankets, making Juliet's mouth curl upwards in a soft smile. She cracked open the soda Hu had given her and took a long sip before refocusing her attention on the musical.
Soon enough, the tumultuous events of the day took their toll on Juliet's wakefulness. It wasn't long before she found herself snoring with her head on Hu's shoulder and Romeo curled in her lap.

Chuck's attention was brought back to Bay when a sparrow suddenly landed on her shoulder. He nodded at the introduction, and even waved to Aala. "Like, nice to meet you," he said politely, offering the bird a sad smile. He held out his own hand in case Aala wanted to hop over. "Anything we can, like, help you with?"
Chuck split his attention between Bay, Aala, and Chiron's speech. However, his face fell and his heart threatened to stop beating when the centaur got to the deaths. Eighteen campers... Man. He didn't even know what to say. As the names were listed off, he felt his eyes fill with tears again. So many gone, and all in one night... It was almost too much to handle. He was almost relieved when Chiron cancelled the sing-along. He wasn't sure he could even speak at that point, let alone sing.

"Like, anyways, I should like, totally turn in for the night," the satyr stated. He was pretty tired, come to think of it, what with all of the chaos and emotional turmoil that had taken place that day. "Like, it was good talkin' to ya. And meetin' you, Aala." Chuck pushed himself to his feet and waved to both Aala and Bay before heading off towards Pan's honourary cabin.
On the way there, Chuck caught part of the conversation between Chiron and a new kid; the one who'd wanted to speak with him.
"Thank you, Wilhelm," the centaur was saying, though his voice sounded notably grim. Was it just the dismal campfire lighting, or had Chiron's face gone pale? He couldn't be sure. "That is very valuable information. I will certainly bring it up during the quest meeting tomorrow morning." A sympathetic look crossed his face as he regarded the young demigod. "I'm sorry your arrival came at such a grim time. Thank you again for bringing this knowledge to my attention. Now, why don't you head to Cabin Nine and get settled in? Try to get some sleep, if you can."
Whatever they were talking about, it didn't sound good. Chuck figured he should just leave it be for the time being - if it was important, he'd find out later.
When Chuck reached the large treelike building, he was relieved to find it still pulsating with life. He slipped through the door with a few other satyrs, and quickly located a spot on the soft mossy floor. The temperature inside the cabin was warm; humid, even - almost as if the air itself was alive. Chuck bedded down next to a slumbering black bear and her three cubs, careful not to wake the large furry animals. Their rhythmic breathing soon lulled him into a deep sleep.

The musical was great, as always. Even though Hu was in a constant state of panic over particularly loud music numbers, she soon realized there was no one else save her sister, who seemed to be a real heavy sleeper. Juliet had brought Romeo, and Hu was actually glad for the oblivious noodle cat's presence. He was a nice distraction, along with the musical playing, from the night's tragedies. Ling was a bit too malicious for that.

As they were reaching the Reynolds Pamphlet, Hu felt Juliet's breathing steady and get head fall into Hu's shoulder. Ling scrambled up, not wanting to be left out, and the 3 traumatized beings and one ferret dozed off into the realm of Hypnos.

"Yes, Lieutenant. The meetings will be held in the mess hall until we find a replacement." Came Chiron's reply. "Thank you. I'll see you in the morning, sir. We have quite a lot to discuss." she said, keeping her tone even. Slipping into her lion form, she headed for Cabin 8, and saw most hunters were already settled for the night. Laika padded to her customary bunk at the front of the room, but shook her head and instead settled at the door. There was no point in getting blood all over the sheets. Bitter cold wind swept over her, stinging the gaping wound on her shoulder. This was where she belonged - in the cold, braving the snow and ice. She looked up at the sky, the snow melting slowly under her paws, and counted the stars that could be the souls of the night's fallen campers.

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Campfire, Tags: Lucy, Mentions: None

Skylar gasped and felt her jaw drop at Lucy's words. Khione, herself?!?! At least it wasn't Vivienne, which was a sort-of relief. But Khione was way more powerful. Khione was a goddess! How would they stop her on the quest? Lucy also said Khione was working with someone, another god, who even the Grey Sisters would not name. This was not looking good. Lucy was playing this all off as a joke, which deeply bothered Skylar. 18 campers had died because of these two gods! "Khione? Another god?" She twisted her hands for a moment before looking up at Lucy again. "The Grey Sisters don't mess around. Even if it was Ares or Hades, trust me, you don't want to mess with them. Someone worse... I have no idea. But they killed people. Kids." She took a de so breath. "Well it's getting late. Things will probably be better in the morning. "

Bay Laurel, Immortal, Female, Drayd, Location: Campfire --> Somewhere between Cabins, Tags: Chuck --> Laurel, Mentions:

Bay Laurel smiled down at the little bird, but that quickly turned to worry once she started to understand Aala's emotion. The little sparrow was frightened and started to chirp fast. So fast, Bay couldn't understand her. "Woah, slow down." Bay quickly turned her attention to Chuck, who got up and declared he was going to head in. "Oh, yes. Of course. Thank you, for um, sitting with me." She blushed a bit, her cheeks turning a darker green as she smiled gently at him. It was really nice of him to listen to her get all upset even though he was just as upset. He left and Bay stated after him for a moment.

"Ya done? I've got important information!" A little voice from her hand chirped out. Aala peeked out with a knowing look on her face.

"What is it?" Bay said gently, giggling softly. She was still worried by what Aala had to tell her, but the little bird's sass always brought a smile to her face.

"The forest, it's getting colder since it is night. A couple of the dryad's trees have frozen. You have to get help!" Aala hopped nervously in Bay's palm as she thought. She didn't like technology, didn't trust it, but it might be the only way to save a couple of these trees. She would have to go to her least favorite campers: the Hephaestus campers. Bay nodded as Aala flew off. Then she ran around all the lingering campers and towards the Hephaestus Cabin. Along the way, she saw a girl lying face down in the snow. She was one of the older campers, Laurel, if Bay recalled. She almost never forgot a campers name. Bay grabbed the girl and turned her over, momentarily forgetting about the Hephaestus Cabun. She sang a low song of health and healing, hoping to do something to help the girl. But her songs could not do magic by herself. "Can you hear me? Your name is Laurel, right? I can help take you back to your Cabin. Or the Apollo Cabin."
