i have a community question for you all about the ribbons, if you guys could help give an opinion or two !

so, the ribbons currently look like this:

and are pretty big and noticeable--which was the intention--so people can easily browse the front page and search for currently ufa mutatoes (and unclaimed entries in the artist search).

earlier, i was looking at the 'starter' ribbon and thinking hm. it is nice that they are always there and visible, and dont cover up the tail's design:

but also not-so-nice in that it is a bit too small to be readable from gallery view (which doesnt matter in the case of starters, but would be pretty important for adopted/claimed mutatoes). (also should note that the images above are not the gallery-view sizes, and are slightly bigger [so the starter ribbon is actually a lot smaller and basically unreadable cx]).

and so, all this leads to my question:
do you guys think the standard 'adopted' and 'claimed' ribbons should be resized? or, are they fine as they are now?
and if resized, should they be as big as the 'starter' ribbon, or somewhere in between those and what it is now?

If my calculations are correct, I got the Mutato below in 2013. He was my first Mutato, so that would make me a part of the community for about 7 years!



One of my favorite memories has to be when I worked it out with another user and their Mutato and my Barbossa had this gorgeous child, whom I got to keep. I love her so much; she turned out so perfectly BEAUTIFUL. (He also had this child with a different Mutato. I did not keep the kid, but they are still cute... though looking at the page now, it would seem their previous owner deleted their CS account. Maybe I could somehow adopt the baby now? Not sure.)

i wasn't really part of the community back when, but i did have a few mutatoes and i still really love them, so my favorite memories are probably actually winning them ahhhh
i won monday (left) in september '13 and valentine (right) in january '14, old babies lol


@alliure - personally, i like the smaller size from the starter tato's better, just because it doesn't block the designs at all, but you have a fair point in the sizing not being super readable from gallery view. the smaller size would work well if the banners were more contrasting from the border/background, but like, pastels are nice lol. i say go with bigger if you wanna keep pastels, but if you want the smaller banner, definitely make sure it contrasts with the borders. also i just realized there's a few borders, so getting the colors just right might be a hassle oop
also there should be no issue using the bigger banner if everyone still has access to the full design, it makes me sad i can't really get to one of my mutato's full design because of the older banner. i was never added and the designer hasn't been on since '19 so rip me lol. also not sure if i was the only one that did it, but i liked using the original design in my digital art back in the day so not having access made '13/'14 me a little sad lol. but that's like a VERY specific issue that can be completely avoided, so idk lol

Hello, total newbie here ! Mutatoes have always been catching my eye, but I was a lot younger back when they were active and really wasn't super comfortable getting into the species. I'm a bit braver now though, so I'm happy to be here ! I'm looking forward to being able to adopt some Mutatoes like i had always wanted to when I was younger :D

What nice v.1 mutatoes and what fun art! I think you make a good point about the banner since it would be easy to avoid your mishap is the smaller banner is used. It's less work on the artist as well since they wouldn't need to necessarily add winners to the art to get access to the design.
