Aiden 049 | Nicholas 016

Postby Kveykva » Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:17 am

    ──── Aiden Seaver
    】| Athena Head Counselor | 15 | Male | Dining Pavilion ➡ Big House | Tags: Teilo
𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚜
"You can see them?" The question was asked, but he refrained from meeting the other's eyes still. He wasn't ready for that yet. Aiden tried to imagine the world through Teilo's eyes; he said they were glowing. "They glow like angels." He guessed. It sounded strange, drastically different from the bodies that were reality. Aiden wondered if things like angels were even real. They couldn't be, something so pure couldn't exist in a world this cruel, could it? "Will they go in peace?" He asked, looking out at a sea of spirits, regardless of them being hidden from his eyes. Just because he couldn't see them didn't make them any less real. "I wonder if they have anyone to blame."

Out of the corner of his eye, the Athena head counselor spotted movement. It was all he could do to pry his eyes away from the devastation. "Chiron." He recognized immediately. Mr. D was with him, and he could see how dumbfounded both beings were. Chiron wore his mask well, but he and Mr. D were sure to be grieving. He glanced back to the remnants of the Big House, and the bodies resting outside. Don't tell me... "We can begin work on burial shrouds for the deceased tomorrow. For now, Mr. D and I will transport them somewhere safe." Dionysus wasn't his favorite god, and while you could often forget the person hiding behind the harshness and disdain, he didn't deserve this. Dionysus didn't deserve to bury another one of his children. Would any of the other gods even come to see their children buried? Some of the campers had never even met their godly parent; now, some of them may have died in the same fashion.

"The rest of you, meet around the firepit at the center of the cabins for campfire and announcements. Hephaestus campers and anyone with Pyrokinesis, dry out the logs and get the flames started. All head counselors who are present, please make sure your cabinmates are informed of this." That was Aiden's cue. He stood straight and held his head high, slowly making his way down the slope towards the Big─no, it wasn't that. Not anymore.

    ──── Nicholas Storm
    】| Horseman of the Apocalypse | 56 | Male | ➡ Final Witness Mortuary | Tags: n/a
𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚜𝚊𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚗𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝙳𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚑
"What are you?"
Had the situation been any different, Nicholas would've given Moxie an exaggerated glare. "Dying, currently." Even a wisecrack such as that was a stretch, as the final syllables were drowned out by wet coughs. A hot, sickening liquid leaked from his lips, pooling around his cheek. His vision started growing fuzzy, and although it was difficult to make out much of anything from his position on the floor, he could very faintly sense Moxie's flood of emotions. Horror. Fear. Regret. He heard the sound of her sidearm clatter to the floor, but the woman stood frozen in place. It was a bizarre experience, to say the least. His abilities included sensing the coming of death, and determining just how close a person was to death. But sensing this from yourself was... uncanny, to say the least. Any normal human would have gone into shock; become almost numb and calm in their last moments, blissfully unaware of the extent their body was damaged to. A 9 mm gunshot wound, punctured the left lung. Damage to the fifth rib and T4 vertebra. There's blood, I can't─ His thoughts were interrupted by a coughing fit, his body desperately clinging onto the last scraps of its life. It's in my lungs, I'm drowning. It hurts─God, it hurts. Nick watched his vision fade to black, and slowly his grip on his own body began slipping.

Maxine stood, staring in horror at what she'd one. He─He was a god. A divine being, a god of death and destruction. Then why─how─he was dying before her very eyes. Golden ichor oozed out in tandem with a beating heart, and before long more of it was out rather than in. She dropped the gun; not on purpose, but her hand fell limp at her side, the other clasped over her mouth. She killed him. God or not, she'd known Nicholas over five years. They were more than just coworkers; they'd been friends. And now, here she stood, watching the life bleed from his body from where it lay on the floor. His hands, which had been so desperately putting pressure onto the wound in his chest, grew still and limp, falling to the tile. A step was all it took. A single step backward sent her out the door and to her vehicle. The engine started and she didn't look back, afraid of what she may see.

"Well, this certainly could have gone better." Nicholas stood with a hand on his chin, an index finger tapping his cheek. His receptionist stood beside him, staring with a bewildered expression. "Is that─are you...?
"Yes, I know. It's weird. And if I'm being honest, this is the first time it's happened."
"Aren't you... you know..."
"I am, yeah, but flaring up the divinity in my blood could very well have killed her. And if it didn't... it's still not pleasant for mortals."
"So your alternative was just to... die?"
"I guess." He shrugged, throwing up his hands. "Don't worry, it'll be fine. Probably. I imagine I was going to have to figure this out sooner or later." Nicholas scratched the back of his head, staring down at the corpse in front of him. "Most of the other gods have divine bodies and some kind of regenerative capabilities, but I was cursed to have neither. At least, unless I do the whole "avatar of death" thing, which..." he made an iffy motion with his hand. "It's a touchy subject. The point is," he gestured to the corpse. "It's dead. That doesn't make me dead, since I'm a spirit of destruction wearing the skin of a demigod, but the body itself is dead. And that's something I can work with." Jessica raised an eyebrow, taking a few steps back as Nicholas motioned for her to clear the space. His power as a god was immense; the spirits roaming the area tucked their heads, dogs and cats for miles around whimpered and hid, and not even the nightingales could find their trembling voice in the face of a power so depraved.

"What do you plan to do?" Her voice came out weak and pitiful. "My domain is over the dead. If I wanted a quick fix, I could just possess this body and become a lich. I've got a bit more class than that." With a wave of his hand, the ghastly wound shrank and faded, the blood pooling on the floor slowly receding. "I'll just heal the injuries and resurrect it. No harm done." True to his word, the swirling storm of malice and strength that comprised his aura was focused on the corpse. Jessica's image began to flicker. She reached out to the god, but he didn't even offer her a side glance. "I'm sorry it came to this." The dread swamping the air dissipated in an instant, and there was nothing. In the distance, a bird began to chirp. Nicholas rolled onto his side and coughed, hacking out the residual drops of blood persisting in his lung. "God..." He lay on the floor for some time, using the chance to catch his breath. He raised his hand to his face, flexing it experimentally. It seemed to respond well enough. Good to know. After about ten minutes, the horseman finally hefted himself to his feet, swaying slightly. He felt a sharp pain in his side; he'd need to take it easy for a few days for that to finish healing. Shouldn't be too difficult, something like that won't interfere with my summoning. With a final brush off his clothes, Nicholas took his leave, whistling sharply. With Xaliphax in tow, the horseman turned his gaze towards Mount Marcy.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|Outside Big House|tags:Juliet, Chuck, Cass

Auggie felt a slight surge of relief when the daughter of Hermes finally conceded. She was stubborn, but she didn’t have much strength for arguing in her dizzy state. She noticed Juliet wince and remembered that she had been injured as well, which only proved to Auggie that she couldn’t take the ambrosia—she wasn’t the only one who was hurt. I’m not going to keel over, she thought. Just the thought of doing so made her feel sick, but that could also be from the coppery smell of blood and the stain on her right hand. She felt weak and shaky, but she did her best to keep her head held high and a hard, unbothered expression on her face. She wasn’t about to get taken down by a broken window.

She froze as the house behind caved in at last with a final, tumultuous crash. She didn’t whip around to look at it immediately like the others did. She wasn’t sure she wanted to see. Slowly, she turned, her eyes scanning the rubble that had been standing just moments before. She really hoped everyone had gotten out before it gave way.

She didn’t protest anymore after that, she reverted back to saying nothing much at all. She stayed still and silent as she allowed Chuck to dress the wound on her arm, only nodding in response when he told her to put more pressure on it. She pressed a hand to her arm, turning her attention the top of the hill as the figures of the hunters, Chiron and Mr. D appeared in the growing gloom. The tone of their announcement was grim, but what else could one expect after everything that had just happened.

All head counselors who are present, please make sure your cabinmates are informed of this. What had Juliet said about head counsellors taking everything on their shoulders? Once again, she didn’t have a choice. She got slowly to her feet, right hand still pressed to her left arm, and blinked as dark spots filled her vision once again. She managed to keep her balance though, drawing in a deep breath and waiting for her gaze to clear so she could help gather her probably petrified campmates. Now wasn’t the time for weakness.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Cass nodded at Juliet "Don't worry kiddo I understand"Cass said softly reaching out to gently rub the uninjured arm of her sibling. It pained her as well to hear about the death of a fellow Hermes camper and she definitely felt the same as her half-sister. Although it didn't last long Cass was glad to see Jules kind of opening up to her. Cass merely looked on as the big house collapsed her lips pressed into a firm line and her face not betraying the pain she felt at seeing the building fall. After hearing Chiron's announcement she took a deep breath and pushed her emotions away. "Hey, Kiddo how about you go get your shoulder taken care of then I'll meet you down by the fire pit 'kay" Cass smiled tightly at Jules before heading out to see if she could find any of her cabinmates.

teilo nodded slowly, though wasn't sure if aiden could see him doing so. "yes," he added to his movement, and to the addition, he pursed his lips. "like - like happy memories shine in the nostalgic mind. the first sunbeam after the longest night." it sounded overly sentimental. he supposed it could be excused. "i don't feel anger from them. not fear, either. just - something like acceptance. i imagine they will." he had no direct line with his father - wasn't quite sure that he wanted one anyway - but if he had anything, he had thoughts that beamed from his head, asking the very same questions.
as he watched the spectacle, the reminder came: death considers not the fairest forehead, nor the kindest eyes, nor the bravest souls.

his focus was torn by the new presence of chiron, speaking of burials, of campfires. it seemed odd, but the only way they could go was forward from this point. and so, with a parting glance to glittering spirits, he began the walk to the firepit, deep in thought. there was more to come - there was always more to come. everything past the horizon was invisible until it wasn't, until it was glaring him in the face, mocking him for his blindness.

as campers gathered, he contemplated the shift to invisibility. it was not that he felt under threat, but more that there were dozens of eyes all searching, all manic and scared, and sometimes, when they landed on him, he felt a peak of shame. it would have been preferred to avoid such silent confrontation, even if it wasn't as intense as he believed it to be.
he did not. instead, he pulled the watch from his pocket, flipped it over in the palm of his hand, ran his thumb over the engraved pattern on its cover, tracing them without vision. if anything, it was a calming distraction as he parked himself as far from the action as possible.

when his half-sister appeared for the second time that day to ask of his wellbeing, orin wondered what exactly she must have thought of him. there were things to get on with, and he was lying in the snow like a fool, playing the maggot once more. mentally, he gave himself a rinsing. there was a time for idleness, and now was not it.
perhaps the time would never come.
regardless of his newfound cynicism, he used his elbows to prop himself up, inadvertently falling into a fit of coughs that left the white ground stained with flecks of red. "bugger," he whispered, then turned to look at laurel. "i'm alright. just - you know. something in my - throat." it wasn't convincing in the slightest, but it would have to do.

chiron was speaking. his voice carried through the wind like birdsong, and though he couldn't make out all the words, 'head counsellors' popped into the forefront of his mind. that was him. he was that, as strange as the decision for his appointment may have been, and the order set another fire in the pit of his stomach, forcing him upright once more.

he swayed for a moment, then steadied himself. "alright. you heard the man. fire pit," he said to the four laurels in his vision, pointing haphazardly at all of them. then, orin began to walk, the world topsy turvy, and found himself - thankfully rather quickly - beside the campfire, sitting himself on newly-dried and thankfully warmed logs.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: outside Big House | tags: Jamie | mentions: Mr. D, Chiron

She shook her head and started to argue, but was cut off by a loud noise from behind them. She turned to see that the house had finally fallen in, and.she forgot her words. It's...gone. she mused, staring at the spot where the blue house had stood. She blinked, but it was still gone.

And just like that, the world sped up again. Some man appeared, along with a halfhorse dude, and they shot instructions at the campers, which hardly made sense to Aggy. Then they were gone, and the other campers were back in a flurry of motion, grabbing the injured and making their way to the section of cabins, the unease rolling off them in waves. She looked to Jamie, a flush making her cheeks even redder, as she asked an embarrassing question. "What's a burial shroud?" She asked in a hoarse whisper, her forehead furrowed in confusion.

Jack "Reese" Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: outside Big House | tags: Caleb, NPCs | mentions: Mr. D, Chiron

That doesn't sound half bad...wait, what?! Reese didn't have time to ponder that train of thought before the Big House was going down, for real. Reese took a step away from the falling building, releasing a string of choice words as he did so. Can't anyone get a moment of peace around here?
Before he could find a use for Caleb and his musical voice, the camp directors were speaking, directing the injured to Cabin 7. For once, I'm glad to not be a child of Apollo, he thought, eyeing the injured and thinking of how cramped the cabin would soon be.
He turned back to Caleb. "I guess that's an order! How good are you at carrying?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow at the boy's overly done-up look. Okay, Aphrodite.

Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Cabin 10 | tags: Mirabelle | mentions:

Ophelia sighed into the hug. Mirabelle was still rather cold, but she found that is was something in the sentiment that mattered. Huh, I'll have to get an excuse for these more often. She thought, hugging Mira a little tighter. For all she cared, the hug might as well last forever, as she had no intentions of ending it sooner than that.
She closed her eyes, quite comfortable staying this way.
The world could be ending, and she'd still just want to be in her sister's icy embrace.

Henry "Hank" Walker | 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: outside woods (near stables)--> Cabin 7 | tags: broken arm npc-> Niji, open! | mentions:

"Okay, the mare'll stay with you." He nodded in agreement, though the large horse would be difficult to get through the door. He followed their gaze to the Big House, or more precisely, what had just been the Big House. He swallowed hard at the image, already burned into his mind, but looked back toward the camper. "Yeah, she's gone. Let's get you to Cabin 7," He said, examining the horse. Let's hope she's well behaved, he thought. "I've give you my bed, it's already covered in fur from Izzy, so they won't be able to complain about a little more." He said, once again offering a hand to Niji.

no,” orin replied to her, the first blunt word he had spoken since he had crumbled. it was simply not an option in his mind. “i’m alright, laurel. i’m - i’m fine. look. i can walk. i can do a little jig if it’d satisfy you, you - you - i don’t know. something. i’m not going anywhere but the campfire. i’m gonna warm my - my little tootsies by the blaze, and - and we’re gonna sing songs, and it’s all gonna be grand, right? it’s all gonna be grand. i was called. i’m not getting - getting harangued by people while there’s a whole - a whole thing going on out there. that’s - i’m fine.” as difficult as it was to string the words together, he was steadfast in his belief and as stubborn as a mule. he was not going to be babied, not in any sense, and though it was certainly not a healthy choice to be making, it didn’t seem to be an issue that fell within his purview.

that brock can all go on after - after this, right? i’ll go to the apollo cabin, and i’ll neck a few of their shots of nectar if i need ‘em, but i’m not going anywhere until this is done. dust. dust in the wind. have i said that? feels like i’ve said that. bit of a broken record tonight.

with that, stumbling aside, he settled at the campfire with a puff of a sigh. the breath collected in front of his face, a reminder that he was, as a matter of fact, still alive, still breathing, still living to tell the sordid tale. that was enough for him, in his own, cloudy head. the haziness of the day was difficult to define, but the flames of the fire would clarify it all, he was sure.
though an adult and though expected to act as such, there was a childish part of his mind that believed chiron could fix this, all of this, with a knowing smile and a sombre nod. it was a lost cause. he believed it anyway. he had to believe in something, after all, and if the past few hours had told him anything, it was that he was not going to get his sky-splitting moment of deus ex machina in which his father swooped down from the heavens to save the day.

that was fine. he would manage without.

Draco nodded quietly bracing himself for the pain.

"Thank ya both. Ah should be fine after its bandaged up and ah get some weight on it. Ah've been through a lot worse, so it's a'ight."

Draco wasn't sure where Mr. Dionysus or Chiron was, but with everyone but Liaka out of the big house he felt as if everyone deserved some knowlege as to why he was here. Maybe not all of it, but at least enough to piece together what he was doing.

Niji "Ji-Ji" Sakura Budōnoki • 17 • (he/they) • Homosexual • Dionysus • Location: By the bighouse• Tags: Hank

Niji gave Hank a quick smile before glancing at Quicksilver and then back to Hank. Now that Niji had stopped moving he wasn't sure if he could start again.

"Where's... Chiron and Mr. Dad gonna... sleep?" Niji asked not realizing that he had called Dionysus dad. Niji was quite a bit calmer now that he knew Quicksliver wouldn't be taken from him.

"Where are you... gonna sleep?" Niji asked. Confusion contorting their features.
"I won't take your bed. I'll sleep in... the stable before that." Niji said stubbornly.

This time when Niji saw Hank's outstretched hand he let go of Quicksilver's bridle and took Hank's hand. Niji's legs, however, had different plans and refused to move causing Niji to fall against Hank.

"Sorry." Niji mumbled. "You can call me Ji-Ji... if you want." Niji added quickly.
