"It's Quail. It got her. A tree." I couldn't help myself from stuttering. I knew my words didn't make any sense.

The red mare with the blaze and socks smiled at her son. She then looked to the new foals, and smiled at the family.

The red young with the white socks smiled back at his mother. He moved his wings a bit, then swished his tail. He made a small sound when they called to him to come over. He sighed a bit and walked over, asking “Where is this tree?”

The black filly with the blaze sighed as she just stood there when they got back... Her dark gray wings moved and twitched a bit.

The brown stallion stood with his young son, and nudged him. Black wings moved some, and he sighed as he looked at them.

We guided Dai and Rowan to the tree and then it spoke. “No,” I replied suspiciously to the talking tree “the foals, their mother and the medicine mare are not here. The foals are to young. But everyone else is here.” I stepped on the stone and waited for the roots to move.

"I guess that's fine...but the tree would move faster if you would just listen to me, you stupid mare!" I had had enough of this procrastination. The tree's roots shot out and wrapped around the legs of all the horses in the clearing. A spot of light filtered into the roots. I flew out, landing in front of Cloudracer.

I startled when a large stallion landed I front of me as the roots moved to wrap around us. I was to scared to say anything. Had he called mother stupid?

"Hello Cloudracer. My name is Shard." The young colt was trembling. "You don't have to be afraid little one." I put my wing on his shoulder. "You see, I just need to get someone back. You would do anything for your mother, wouldn't you? Or a certain filly?" I stared at him with my deep amber eyes.
