"I don't know...I'm sure they're fine. Docter and Riversong know how to handle things." Dawn and Raven trotted up to the us. They looked worried. "Have you seen Quail? She and Cloudracer arent back yet..."

The red mare with the blaze and socks smiled at her son. She then looked to the new foals, and smiled at the family.

Dai- m- crush open, too young for mate- too young for foals- Foal- X x Daybreak- Danika (sister)- Tags: everyone

The red young with the white socks smiled back at his mother. He moved his wings a bit, then swished his tail.

The black filly with the blaze heard them, and ran back. She huffed the two adults, then turned to the foal. She nudged him too, trying to get them all moving. Her dark gray wings moved and twitched a bit.

Doctor- m- mate is Riversong- no foals yet, but soon- Over stallion- Willard x Dana- Wynona (sister)- Tags: everyone/ Riversong

The brown stallion kicked one more time, then shook his head. Black wings moved some, and he sighed as he looked at them.

“I don’t know, they’ve been gone for a while now. I know how good Riversong and Doctor are at tracking, they would have found the foals and been back by now.”

"Yes...I should go look for them. You stay here with Tree and Ruby. If you need any help, Daybreak is here. I ll be back soon."
I flew off, leaving the foals behind.

"Maybe I should take him too? After all...one filly isn't good enough."
The Filly cried out, "No! Please....don't take him. I mean...if you're lonely I can talk to you?" I laughed. "I won't take him...but he might as well give up. He's never getting past the tree. Eventually...the tree consumes you. But not me. It already took someone I loved. So I stayed. I didn't have any friends up there anyway..."

“Where is he going? Why is father leaving us?”


Cloudracer:

Riversong told me that we have to go back to the rest of the herd and tell them what had happened. I couldn’t stay by the tree alone because of the creatures that lived in the forest so I had to leave too. I had to leave my best friend behind.

I heard the wingbeats...they were leaving! "Wait! No! Comeback!" They wouldn't leave me here, would they? They had enough foals in the herd already...they didn't need me. I thought to the newborns. I and Cloudracer had wanted to be the first to see them...But now I wouldn't be seeing them. At least Clouderacer would be able to...

"Theyre not coming back. Might as well get comfy...before the tree gets you." As I stepped towards her, the vines curled around my legs and wings. I shook them off with a huff of annoyance. "This way." I led the filly back to a chamber. "The roots built this up over time...you can sleep there. I pointed to a corner. "Now get lost."

I turned to leave with the other pegasai when I heard something. It was a muffled voice from inside the tree. Was it Quail? Could she hear us? Did she know that we were leaving her behind? “Quail! Can you hear me?”


Ruby:

I believed what Tree had said and calmed down. But I still wanted father to stay with us. My right side where father had been laying, was now cold.

I didnt follow the stallion. I didnt trust him, after he had pulled me away from the other pegasai. I heard a faint muffled call from the top of the tree. "Cloudracer? Is that you up there!" Maybe he wasn't going to leave me after all! "Cloudracer! Im in here!"

She could hear me! After I had called for her, she had spoken again, louder this time so that I could hear her. “Yeah! It’s me! We don’t know how to get you out. Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

"Im fine...but-" I was cut off as the Stallion knocked me over. All of a sudden, I couldn't move or speak. The stallion smiled at me. He spoke up to Cloudracer in myvoice!
"Im fine Cloudracer! Could you bring help? I found a way out, but it's going to need all of the herd."
No! I screamed in my mind. It's A TRAP! But no one could hear me.
