Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Forest | tags: Jamie, Aggy, Laurel, Auggie, Orin | Mentions:

A smile returned to the daughter of Aphrodite's face at Jamie's chatter about snow, and she snorted a little. "Before Halloween, so they skipped over Thanksgiving too?" She asked, letting her pendant fall back to her chest. Ophelia hadn't really celebrated Thanksgivings, what with her father no longer being on speaking terms with the majority of his family-their family. She'd heard about them though, from teachers and classmates. They sounded fantastic, if a touch mythical with the whole idea of just spending time together and feasting making up the entire holiday.

Once they reached the pavilion, she was all too happy to rush in, the heat flowing into her in waves. She wasn't quite warm yet, but she couldn't hang around in the borrowed jacket any longer.
She sighed, but began pulling his jacket back off. Even if he was a friend, or at least an ally, she didn't need to be calling more favors than she could return. "Thanks, it really helped," She said softly, smiling as she handed it back to him.

She caught sight of Orin and inwardly groaned, but she was in no position to be refusing the hot cocoa that either him or that Hades kid had made. He'd just have to be smug about it.

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite/Cabin 10| Location: Forest| Tags: Niji, Karter| mentions: open

"Do we put him in front so he doesn't fall off?" Alex asked, not paying attention to how this might hurt Karter's feelings. Now that he had a mount, Alex was much more excited for capture the flag, even in the snow. Riding with two others wouldn't be the best look, but it was better than looking like a lame duck trying to fumble through a snowdrift. He hugged tighter to Niji as Quicksilver shifted underneath them both. It was probably not his brightest idea to get on the giant beast, but it would be worth it for the look's on his sister's faces!

Henry "Hank" Walker|17| He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Medic tent---> Cabin 7 |tags: Chuck, medic tent (Chuck, Apollo, Valkeri, Mira, Cres, Aiden, Teilo, Sky, etc..)--> open | mentions: Aydan, Mira, Chuck, Izzy

Hank was kicking himself for forgetting to get Aydan some ambrosia or something. At least the satyr knows what to do, he thought, smiling kindly at Chuck as he rushed to Aydan's aid. He had no idea what to do in this situation, and it killed him a little, especially being an Apollo kid and not knowing what to do in the presence of Apollo!
He really should've focused more in his first aid class, but the only part he'd really taken a shine to was CPR and the practicals that allowed him to move, to do something.
Hank nodded at Chuck's orders. "Of course, one centaur coming up!" He said, shuffling around the others to duck out of the tent flap and go on his mission.
For her part, Izzy was all too happy to obey Chuck's orders as well, ambling over to Mira and giving her a thoughtful sniff. When the girl did not stir, she hopped up by Mira's feet and circled a few times, before gently edging beside the frozen blond, laying her head gently on Mira's chest and dolefully watching her breathing.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Forest | tags: Juliet, Laurel, Orin, Auggie, Jamie, Ophelia | Mentions: Orin

Aggy took the offered hand, squeezing it with much more force than was necessary. "Aggy Clemson, it's a pleasure," She said, watching closely for his reaction.
"I have no big wounds, but in a few minutes, you might end up revealing some," She added, flashing Orin a wicked grin. She was still working out her thoughts on him, and they were still mutable. In a few minutes, she might very well be ripping him to shreds. Such is life.
She let go of his hand to turn toward some newcomers, frowning at the appearance of Jamie and some girl she had yet to meet. She still had to get back at him for setting her up earlier, but it probably had to wait until after angry Olaf was defeated.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Medical Tent|Tags: Chuck, Cres, Val, Apollo, Hank, Ayden, Aiden, Teilo, Skylar|

Mirabelle may have been sitting up before, but the world had started spinning again so she'd thought it best to lie back down again. She was in the midst of sorting through her thoughts - all a grand jumble of confusion - when something pulled her into the present. Something warm. She blinked a few times, trying desperately to clear her foggy brain as she attempted to pinpoint the source of the warmth. She was able to focus enough to make out a familiar canine form resting her head atop her chest. A weak smile graced her lips. With some difficulty, she raised a heavy arm to pet the English Pointer's soft face. She could feel a happy tail thumping somewhere near her legs as she did.
The thought registered that she was still wearing her armour - minus her helmet; what exactly had happened there? - as the warmth of the dog contrasted cruelly with the sharp cold of her celestial bronze breastplate. She would have simply gotten up and shed her armour, but she didn't want to disturb the content canine lying close to her. That, and she was certainly too weak to do so, though she would never admit it.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Aggy, Laurel, Orin, Auggie, Ophelia, Jamie|

Juliet couldn't hide her surprise when the purple-haired girl chimed in, though she was grateful for the suggestion. "Maybe I'll go over and check there," she mused, finishing the dregs of her hot chocolate. She snickered at Aggy's quip as she wiped some chocolate off of her lips with a sleeve.
When the door creaked open again, the wiry daughter of Hermes turned to see who had joined them. She acknowledged Ophelia with a singular wave of her hand, though a slight frown creased her brow. The taller girl wasn't exactly looking so good. "Hey there," she greeted them as the other kid with her - Jimmie? Jessie? - gave a rather shaky hello. "...say, you didn't see a swarm of angry Ares kids attacking a rampaging snowman as you walked here, didja?" she asked casually. If she was going to go check the medical tent, she wanted to make sure the coast was clear. Before he could reply, the sudden, overwhelming scent of grapes hit Juliet's nose, making her gag. Unsurprisingly, the form of a rather annoyed-looking Mr. D had manifested nearby.
"Listen up, you little brats! Chiron bribed me to tell you that Campfire’s moving inside so you don’t all freeze to death, whatever, I don't care," the wine dude griped. "I hope that game of pinochle will be worth it." He huffed, crossing his arms over his absolutely horrid Hawaiian shirt. "So get to the Big House or something. Yadda yadda, blah blah blah. Okay, bye."
With that being said, he poofed out of existence once more, presumably to go somewhere un-crowded by demigods.
“Well, I guess we’re taking the party to the Big House,” Juliet snorted, rolling her eyes at Mr. D’s sour nature. "Anyways. If that frozen fiend is gone, I'm gonna go tell the guys at the medical tent - if Chiron hasn't already - and see if the they need help moving anyone." Sure, she had her own motives for going to the medical tent, but still - she figured they could use her there if they were indeed going to be moving everyone to the Big House. Though she wasn't usually one to help out, her concern for her... friend outweighed her urge to relax.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Medical Tent|Tags: Cres, Val, Mira, Hank, Izzy, Ayden, Apollo, Teilo, Aiden, Skylar|

Chuck turned at the sound of his name being called, his brain still not fully up-to speed. "Uh, like, yeah," he bleated, pausing in his cot-prepping duties to turn towards Cresolis. "Could you, like, go check on - uh, I think Hank said his name is Ayden?" he pointed to an unconscious and now blanket-clad demigod on a nearby cot. "Like, the guy apparently passed out because of like, overexertion or something, you know? Don't know if he needs any ambrosia or nectar, or if he's had some already. Maybe ask around about that? I'm like, kinda busy, or I'd totally just do it myself." Well, that and the fact that Chuck was starting to feel totally overwhelmed by all the socialising. There were so many beings flitting about the medical tent. Man, like, I hope Chiron shows up soon or something. The centaur was probably still out looking for frozen campers, he realised - Chiron tended to play the role of battlefield medic during Capture the Flag games. And boy, did they need one of those right about now.
When Teilo and Aiden returned with the unlucky camper, Chuck scurried off to fetch another blanket and some ambrosia as directed. Thankfully, things were becoming more organised with all of the campers helping out, and he was able to locate both items in record time. "Like, here ya go, man," he bleated, delivering the blanket and ambrosia to Teilo. It was then that he saw exactly who the unfortunate soul was - Skylar. Needless to say, he had no idea how they were going to continue with her show-and-tell idea at the campfire with her in this condition.

"Like, thanks, man!" Chuck called after Hank as the son of Apollo set out. I hope he can find the centaur dude. We really need to get everyone like, somewhere with reliable heat or something. His eyes flickered from Skylar's unconscious form to Mirabelle, who he noticed had lay back down. Thankfully, she was still conscious, and Izzy seemed to be doing a pretty good job of providing heat.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Final Witness Mortuary-->Harper's|Tags: Nicholas' Receptionist|

Vivienne sharply turned to see who the receptionist had indicated - Dr. Storm, perhaps? Through the darkness of the room, she couldn't make out much. Though the attempt at doing so made her temples start to throb. She wasn't certain as to why, but instinctual fear coursed through her very being. It felt primal, like something wired into her genetics, reaching back thousands of years. She did her best to keep her outward composure, though she took an unwitting step away from the indescribable creature.
Ozymandias immediately balked, most likely out of the same animal instinct she felt deep down. The usually-intimidating gryphon was reduced to cowering close to the ground like a small kitten.
When whatever it was - reaper, she assumed given the context - disappeared, she felt her stiffened posture relax ever so slightly. The primal fear dissipated, leaving her wondering what she had been so afraid of in the first place.
Ozymandias also seemed remarkably more comfortable, though all of his fur had poofed up. If Vivienne had a sense of humour, she would have found it rather funny - he looked like an oversized Halloween decoration.
The woman was speaking again, Vivienne realised. Doing her best to seem unperturbed, the demigod gave a brisk nod in response to her words. Without so much as a thank-you, she led Ozymandias out into the Pennsylvania streets.
Outside was much warmer than she would have liked, but she gritted her teeth and contented herself with simply intensifying the cold aura she projected. Rather than summon another whirlwind to take her where she needed to go, she mounted Ozymandias and took off skyward. She put her faith in the darkening sky to hide them from mortal view - although, it was rather curious to ponder what they would've seen. An abnormally large bird, perhaps? A miniature airplane? She couldn't be certain. Regardless, she eased the gryphon eastward. Her internal compass had always been spot-on, even as turned around as she was in such a place. She only hoped her presence wouldn't attract a monster or two. After the events of the Capture the Flag game back in New York, she needed to conserve her energy to get herself back to her home eventually.
When the two spotted the corner store - thank you, gryphon vision and limited communication - Vivienne directed Ozymandias downwards. They landed quietly just outside the store, startling a flock of pigeons looking for scraps. She dismounted, searching the area for a sign with the name she'd been given. Harper's, she recalled. She absently wondered what type of job Nicholas would be working there, though quickly discounted her musings - it wasn't her place to question. Even so... quite curious, a god possessing both a dayjob and a secondary, she couldn't help but think.
"Harper's", a nearby sign proclaimed.
Upon spotting her objective, she told Ozymandias to wait outside and stay out of sight. She doubted a creature of his size would be conventionally acceptable in such a public place - no matter what the Mist did to distort him, he was still rather large. With that, Vivienne began walking stiffly towards her target.

"listen. she was very nasty to me. i'm not saying she deserved it, but she did ask a question. she should've anticipated the answer. just 'cos it wasn't exactly what she wanted, she kicked off. i was quite miffed." he said, raising his eyebrows at auggie. the days of spending his free time in coffeehouses seemed all but gone, lost to time, to the chaos in the winds that had blown on camp. silently, he wondered whether this would be it - the end of the world as they knew it. he wondered whether his family was alright. there was something bothering him in the back of his head - he chose to ignore it. there was no time to fixate on the mundane realities when they were faced with such shocking ones.

juliet's commentary brought a bit more joy into his face, happy to have found someone else who shared a bit of zest in spite of the circumstances. "frosty the snowman? i heard he was a fairy tale. are you telling me he came to life?" orin asked, playing along with the song. after shaking aggy's hand and giving her a winning smile to match her wicked grin, he felt a bit of the tension in his shoulders dissipate. "gorgeous. that's what i like to hear. get some of the good stuff down you, there'll be no wounds to speak of ever."

"animated snow, it's a new one - i have to say. but it's nothing to the aphrodite cabin's hairdryers. someone should've thought of that. quick blowdry treatment and their weapons are nowt more than puddles on the ground." he said, posture straightening when his drink was complimented. "see, someone appreciates me! that's lovely. tell you what, that's given you a coupon for one any time you want. i can be in the middle of a high-stakes battle, but if you come and ask me for one of my famous mugs, then i'm never gonna say no." he said.

interruption came in the form of new faces. one of them being ophelia, he noted, who seemed to sour at the sight of him. that was fine - they could save their problems for later. "hello hello, come on in. we've got drink, we've got munch, we've got all you could want. i should set up a stall." he waved to jamie. "all on the house, this time. but just know that if you seem too in love with it, i might have to start charging. that's a business deal that can't go to waste."

it wasn't long before dionysus was making his appearance, ordering their movement to the big house. it almost made him disappointed, seeing all the mugs that would go to waste, but supposed it was for the best for now. "alright. big man's given us the order. we'd best scarper." he said, nodding as juliet spoke and making the necessary adjustments to his jacket as he brushed himself off. "it'll be a meeting for the ages, i'm sure."

the room was bright. cold sun shone through the windows, warming the room to an extent sufficient enough to not require any heating. an old building - insulating the warmth was a difficult feat, but when it was managed, it was wonderful. golden specks of light danced across the wall, creating kaleidoscopic flecks against the floor as they caught the glass. early afternoon, not a very busy day, but one filled with news. strange occurrences, odd circumstances. some put it down to climate change. others were rattling on about the 'end of days' being closer than had ever been seen before.

a knock at the door. "sir?" asked a gentle voice through the heavy door. "may i -"
"in." came the brisk response.
the door opened. a young woman revealed herself. she twiddled her hands together nervously, not looking him directly in the eye. "there was a -"
"speak up," he said. "look at me when you're talking to me."
she did so without fault. cleared her throat before she continued. "there was a call for you,"
"tell them i'm busy," he waved his hand. "have you seen the news? look at them out there. stunted little apes. they've no idea what they're doing." a point toward a television mounted in the corner of the room, depicting images of snow.
"yes. that was what the call was about, sir," her tone took an impatient tone. he turned to look at her, and any courage she had seemed to dissolve.
"go on, then. you've got my attention," he leaned forward. "what's your name?"
"suzie, sir," she said.
"suzie," he nodded. "go on then, suzie. what was the phone call? i'm a busy man. i don't like being stalled."
"the voyager's prepared for you, sir. you've been called to america." she glanced at the television screen.
his eyebrows raised. a smile began to split his face in half. "excellent," he said. "better start packing!"
"they've got clothes for you. i don't think you need to pack,"
"no. no, no, no, no." he stood, walked closer. "i don't think you understood me. you'd better start packing, suzie. i want you gone."
"what?" she took a step back. he took a step forward.
"i don't like my secretaries to take tones with me. i could be wrong, but i think you took a tone with me. just then. i caught it. i should have recorded. and unless you're telling me i was wrong... out you go." he paused. she seemed frozen with shock. "i said OUT."

away she scurried. message received.

a deep breath, a low chuckle, a fix of the tie that was tight around his collar. "finally," one last glance at the snow-covered landscape. maybe he should have asked her to fetch him a scarf before she went. no matter. "to the land of promise." he hummed to himself, donning a poor american accent for the nation's monicker.
after a final glance at the room he had been contained in, he was off.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Dining pavilion|tags:Orin, Juliet, Aggy, Laurel, Jamie, Ophelia

Auggie ignored the look of surprise on the daughter of Hermes’ face when she spoke up. She was used to blending into the background and she couldn’t blame people for being a caught a little off guard when she actually contributed to the conversation. Her eyes drifted to Aggy as the younger girl introduced herself to Orin, looking like she was trying to taunt him and judge his character at the same time, the same way she had when Auggie had met her earlier that day. The corner of her mouth twitched, though she quickly stifled her amusement and turned her attention back to the knife in her hand.

She rolled her eyes at Juliet’s comment on the hot chocolate and Orin’s eager reaction. “No need to bolster his ego.” She muttered. “Tom Hanks already thinks he’s the greatest thing to happen to the hot beverage community since the invention of boiled water.”

She raised a pierced brow at the abrupt arrival of Mr. D, giving a harsh glare that he obviously didn’t notice. Despite her dislike for the god, she was a little jealous of his ability to just teleport away and not have to deal with any of them for more than a few moments. At Juliet’s words, she considered going to help out as well, but her desire to get away from a crowd outweighed her need to be useful as she slid down from the table she’d been sitting on.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Forest-dining pavilion|tags:Ophelia, Juliet, Aggy, Laurel, Orin, Auggie

“Yes! They just...” He frowned, realizing he couldn’t quite remember all the details of his story. “Unless they just celebrated a Christmassy Thanksgiving. You know, I don’t actually remember who this was.” He said, the combination of stories he’d heard from people at school muddling together in his mind. His unreliable retelling was quickly forgotten as they entered the dining pavilion and were greeted by quite a few others campers.

He was going to protest that Ophelia could keep the jacket for now, at least until she was warm again, but she didn’t seem like she was going to take his offer. He smiled back as he took the borrowed jacket from her. “No problem.” He frowned in confusion as one of the other girls asked if they’d passed a snowman. He opened his mouth to respond and to ask what on earth she was talking about when he was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Dionysus, making Jamie jump with his unexpected entrance. He blinked in surprise after the gods less than enthusiastic announcement, before turning his attention back to Juliet. “I didn’t see any abominable snowmen on the way in, but we didn’t exactly pass the medical tent.” He told her, a little too afraid to ask what she meant by ‘rampaging snowman’.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

His own limbs were quaking, each step draining more and more energy, but he pressed onward. Teilo was thankfully easy to follow, though he seemed to have a much easier time traversing the blizzard than Aiden. Skylar was still conscious, but only just. "I guess that would explain why you were so opposed to leaving camp for the quest." Were there ghosts just... everywhere? To think Audra was still here after the accident, he found the thought depressing. How many more games of Capture the Flag had she witnessed? How many campers had she seen, so close, yet so far at the same time? If Aiden recalled correctly, Skylar had also participated in the camp event when the unfortunate accident took place. They were both so young when it happened, and after he'd spent so long haunted by the memory, it was the very same reason he'd found Skylar in the first place. He could almost chuckle at the irony.

"Unfinished business," Aiden repeated, frowning. It sounded incredibly cliche, like something you'd hear in a horror movie. "Are you sure?" He felt stupid, asking a child of Thanatos if he was sure that was how ghosts worked. "I just--what unfinished business would she have? I didn't really know her that well, granted..." Aiden began formulating a second thought, but before he could produce the words, he froze. Somehow, he couldn't get his legs to move, the realization hitting him like a nuclear-powered freight train. "Vivienne." He declared, as though Teilo would recognize the name's significance. He didn't, which made Aiden's actions even stranger. Once he realized, Aiden picked up the pace and caught up to Teilo. He murmured an apology to Skylar. It all makes sense now. The blizzard, the prophecy, everything.

Upon cresting the hill, the child of Athena made a face. "Yeah, it's like sardines down there." He spotted a figure waving to them through the blizzard, recognizing them as Chuck (if only by his legs). "But I'd hate to turn down Chuck's offer. Dude already probably feels awful about the reed pipes earlier."

Harper's, as the sign proclaimed, was a squat building nestled between the corner store and a pharmacy, whose interior lay dark in the late night. In fact, the building seemed to be the only source of life on the otherwise empty street, with music and chattering flooding out through the open door. A small group of people, about three or four, gathered outside, where a man at the door conversed briefly with them before letting them inside.

Simple enough.

Unfortunately, things were never so simple. Upon reaching the door, the man Vivienne had seen let the group in moments earlier stopped her at the entrance. "Whoa there, girlie." His voice was polite but firm. "Gotta see your ID before I let you in there."

Just inside, the cacophony of the bar dimmed to a dull roar against Nick's ears, people chattering and cackling all around the interior. Most of it came through as nothing but nonsense, all the noise overlapping to form incoherent thoughts. It served as a basis for a practiced routine, a rhythm to which his own drum beat. "I need a Blooming Daisy and a White Russian!"

"Heard!"

He grabbed a bottle of liquor from the wall behind him, filling the order as he'd done every other since the night began. Harper's atmosphere was fast-paced. Demanding. Chaotic. Nicholas relished it. Where others would stumble and fall, he took the opportunity to shine. The guests always enjoyed a good show, and he loved to perform. Not long had passed since his arrival, but the place was packed within minutes. He welcomed the buzz of life, but it wasn't long until he sensed something out of place. He knew the feel of most of the bar's regulars by now, and strangers were as foreign as one would imagine. Which is why Nicholas felt the need to investigate. "Hey Paul," He poked his head out the door, greeting the bouncer as he always did. "There a problem out here?" From what he'd heard, Paul had been in the beginnings of an argument with a persistent teen. The teen in question was none other than Vivienne. Nicholas hushed him when he tried to explain. "She's my cousin, I know she's underage." He explained briefly. "Just let her inside and I'll grab her something to snack on until this lets up a bit." The horseman swiftly retreated inside and back behind the counter, doubling down on filling the orders he'd missed. He expected Khione to send for him soon, but not quite that soon.

(( I'll get something up for Aiden after Macaw posts with Skylar, but I've worked on it a little bit so far so the post won't take so long then c:

Juliet snickered at both Orin and the Hades camper's remarks as she listened to their banter. "Yeah, I'm sure Mr. Narcissus over there could go on about his prowess forever," she quipped. Her hazel eyes twinkled with mischief, showing she meant no harm by the joke. When the guy who had come in with Ophelia spoke up, she tilted her head towards him. "Long story short, a snowman I may or may not have built as a decoy got brought to life or possessed by one of those crazy storm spirits or something." She snorted, rolling her eyes. "I seriously hope those Ares dudes aren't still trying to take that thing down. Could use Mirabelle and her blowdryer right about now." She cast a smirk over at Orin, shifting her weight to her other foot. Her mention of the Aphrodite head counselor had reignited her worry, however, though she did her best to hide it. "Anyways - if you're not gonna bring all that hot chocolate to the Big House, I just might have to drink it all before I head over to the med tent. Can't have it going to waste, can we?" Though she was eager to get on her way, the prospect of seeing those decadent beverages go undrunk was quite a dismal thought. "Maybe Chiron can balance a tray on his back and ferry the hot chocolate over," she chuckled. "I can see it now: Chiron the Centaur - beverage server extraordinaire." She couldn't help but laugh at her own terrible joke, especially given that she was picturing the centaur in a Starbucks apron. "But seriously. Maybe see if some of the nymphs can help you bring those to the Big House? There are usually some hanging out around the dining pavilion. I'm sure everyone would appreciate a hot drink right about now. I know I did." Juliet offered Orin a lopsided smile, edging closer to the door as she talked. Though she was itching to check the medical tent for Mira or any of her other acquaintances, she was at loathe to leave the warm environment of the mess hall.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Harper's|Tags: Nicholas|

The sounds of laughter and general mortal chatter flowing out from the rather unremarkable building twisted a knot in Vivienne's stomach. She had never been one for crowds - heck, the most interaction with real live people she'd had in a long time was the attack on Camp Half-Blood. Ever controlled on the outside, she kept her expression flat and serious. After all, trepidation could easily be seen as weakness. If there was anything Vivienne despised more than that wretched camp, it was weakness. Well, almost more than. It was a close second.
This was a large part of the reason that she'd been seriously contemplating turning the man at the door - a bouncer? she didn't exactly know the terminology - into a life-size ice sculpture. Thankfully, the enigmatic Dr. Nicholas Storm came to the rescue. Her face slowly morphed into a scowl at the prospect of being treated like a child, but she quickly rationalised his words. Mortals had bizarre customs, to say the least, and it seemed that this Dr. Storm was much more adept at manipulating them than she. She had been out of the loop for quite a while, after all. The last time she had even been around mortals for extended periods was when she was bouncing around the foster system, when she'd met -
No.
She quickly diverted her thoughts away from the memory that brought her so much pain and fondness simultaneously. Right. Focus. She was here for a reason, after all. As Vivienne begrudgingly followed Nicholas inside, the bustling atmosphere and cacophony of sound made her head spin. She felt her heart race in her chest, and her breathing rate increase more rapidly. Despite the infrequency of this occurrence, she knew she was quickly becoming overwhelmed. She did her very best to maintain her stony countenance, though in a situation like this, something was bound to slip through the cracks. Bowing her head slightly so not to be noticed, the young woman approached the counter and slid onto a seat at the very end. Was this a... bar? She had only heard about such places from various foster parents; she'd never actually been inside of one herself. Noisy was the first word that came to mind. She wrinkled her nose at the boisterous atmosphere. Why on earth would Nicholas choose to work somewhere like this? The concept was beyond her. Her icy gaze flickered to the man in question, who was filling orders for what she assumed to be alcoholic beverages. He must be the... bar-worker? Barman? Drink-maker? After a few attempts, she gave up trying to guess his job title and simply sat stiffly on the stool. As she waited politely for a break in the drink orders, she tried to shut out the raucous environment around her. Falling back on old habits, she mentally recited a bit of poetry to distract herself.
One need not be a Chamber - to be Haunted
One need not be a House -
The Brain has Corridors - surpassing
Material place -

Poetry had always been a comfort to Vivienne, ever since she'd learned of its existence in some English class in grade school. Her ravenous appetite for poetry had only grown since then. The bustle of the bar soon faded away, replaced by the dulcetly melancholic lines of Dickinson's poem.

Draco looked around and seeing a lot of people around the medical tent he decided to start there, so he trotted his way there hoping people would have enough common sense to get out of the way before they stared at him.

'I'll talk to Chiron later.' Draco thought to himself.

Draco wondered what medical supplies the tent had and how he was going to fit because the tent was probably crowded and he wasn't sure he would fit through the door anyways.

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Med Tent, Tags: Aiden, Teilo, Chuck, Med Tent People, Mentions: None

Skylar felt herself slip in and out of dreams as she half slept-half unconscious. She saw a flitting image of a mountain, then a statue of ice, and finally the same image of everything turning a pale blue around her. Her friends, her siblings, plant life, it was all freezing over solid. She tried to help in her dreams, but all she could see was her frozen hands emitting no magic. then She started to wake up. She felt herself being handed around and bright lights overhead pierced her eyelids. She groaned as she felt a headache start to form. She could tell she was being placed on a cot and felt something being forced to go down her throat. It was sweet, like a sweet piece of French Toast filled with strawberry jam going down her throat. Even only half-awake she could tell it ambrosia. Immediately, she felt a familiar warmth spread throughout her body. Her toes and fingers felt like they were on fire, but she felt so much better. She was too tired to open her eyes, much less try her magic to see if it worked, so she vowed to herself that she would do that first as soon as she woke up again. She settled in and fell into a deep sleep.

"my ego is of perfect size. the ideal ego. my id, though - that's a different story," orin wiggled his eyebrows. "tom hanks? you really do know how to compliment me. you can appreciate my skills in drink-making without feeling like it's gonna have some dire consequences, you know. how can i get any worse than this?" a potent moment of self-awareness that didn't seem to match his face. as juliet continued the onslaught, he shook his head incredulously. "i mean, you do something nice for people, and all of a sudden you're self-serving!" an exaggerated sigh, lost to his interest in the storm spirits. "the abominable snowman and his harem of wisps doesn't sound nearly as intimidating as they should be."

the request to ferry the drinks over was one he nodded at. he certainly wasn't going to see his hard work go to waste, left to stagnate and cool in the atmosphere without the joy that would coe from the campers who witnessed them. "right. off you go, then. i'll sort all of this out." orin waved them out, though wasn't sure how much authority they'd take from his swaying arm.

his focus turned to collecting a few trays to put the mugs on. he settled on six per tray, setting them out in their groups, and after a bit of searching and subsequent sweet-talking, he had a nymph on his side, grasping the weight of one of the trays as he carried the other. off to the big house it was, then, manoeuvring through the blistering wind in a way that would retain his balance. a problematic trek, yes, but one that he was perfectly fine doing.
the cold reminded him of home, in an odd way. christmases on his grandfather's farm - waking up to the ambient noises of bleating and whistling. he missed his granddad sometimes. odd, how the emotions struck in the least appropriate of times. he made a note to contact his sister later in the evening - perhaps an iris message. just to see how things were going. checking in.

the thought left as he entered the big house, setting down the drinks on a table that seemed appropriately sized for them. the nymph did the same, and he gave her a smile. "thank you. i really appreciate your help," the gentle tone sent her off. as he looked down at the steaming mugs, he was confronted with just how tired he truly felt.

Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Forest | tags: Jamie, Aggy, Laurel, Auggie, Orin | Mentions: Orin, Jamie

For her part, Ophelia didn't feel like dealing with this 'rampaging snowman', and although she now knew the cause of Juliet and Mira's tension, Juliet was still on thin ice.
Ophelia practically jumped out of her skin, startled by the sudden appearance, and disappearance, of Mr. D, but she collected herself quickly enough. She nearly groaned at the idea of returning to the snowbanks outside, evil snowman or not. Should not have done that, she thought, refering to the return of the coat.
At least now she'd be warm enough to sprint...maybe. She frowned as Orin began making off with the drinks, but managed to snag one before her got away with them.
She threw it back, enjoying the burn of hot cocoa down her cold throat. Hmmm, not half bad, she begrudgingly conceded, eyeing Orin's back as he left, carrying several trays. For being the sun of the sky god, he sure doesn't use his powers much, she mused, noting the thought for later.
She returned the mug to a table with a dull 'thunk', then turned to Jamie. Now for an excuse. She brushed the dark strands of hair that had fallen out of her braid away from her face, "Wanna race to the big house?" She said, eyes glittering. There was a strong chance of her losing, but she wasn't playing to win.

Aggy frowned at Orin's comment. I am many things, but I know for a fact that 'goregeous' isn't one of them. Aggy had realized long ago that she didn't match what others considered "beautiful". But she had also learned to use her looks for what they were good for- getting pity from people. His comment was patronizing, and Aggy wasn't in the mood to be patronized.

She glared up at him, her thoughts on this punk quickly determined. But he seemed to talk endlessly. I wonder if they have like, magic duct tape for that one, she mused.

When he left, she turned to Auggie "Is there a way to shut him up? Like, I don't know, some magic word or something?" She asked, gaze clouding over as she considered the idea. Enough crazy had happened to her today for her to think it might be possible, but it could also sound very stupid. Oh well, she'd just have to invent one if it didn't already exist.

***Hank will get updated later, he's just vibing to Cabin 7, then he's gotta go find Chiron***
