Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Niji, Alex | Location: Forest | Team 1

"Nah man." Karter's face tinted with pale pink. How embarrassing! Well now I just look like an idiot! Wait, I look an idiot most of the time, my bad. "I'm okay. Sorry for the interruption. T-To answer your question, name's Karter, cabin 13. So I’m team 1," he reported. "You?"

Kade Turner | Athena | Tagging: Open | Location: Forest | Team 2

Kade ducked out from behind a bush, having been sneaking around trying to see if there was a good break to sneak across to the enemy side. He couldn’t see one from where he stood, so looped back around to see if there were many people guarding the flag, or if they needed backup. I can go wherever I’m needed.

Niji Sakura Budōnoki • 17 • (he/they) • Homosexual • Dionysus • Location: forest• Tags: Alex, Karter, team 1

Niji waved his hand a bit dismissively at Karter's words.
"Ahh you aren't interrupting anything I just wanted to make sure this gal's dinnerplate sized feet didn't get your tootsies. Don't want ya breaking anything." Niji said a little bit of baby talk mixing in because he was halfway talking to Karter and Alex and halfway reminding Quicksilver to be mindful of toes.
"I'm Niji and this pretty thing under me is Quicksilver. We're on team one. And don't worry she doesn't need armor and if she's worried about it then she can have my helmet." Niji said hoping to keep any chastising at bay.
Quicksilver sighed deeply before shaking her head in a very 'don't even think about putting that tin can on my head' way.
The blue roan pawed the ground wanting to get in on some action and Niji knew that the mare was itching to have some pretend fighting in the forest like she had before.

"I know pretty thing you like being the center of attention." Niji lightly teased.
Quicksilver turned to look at Niji before glancing at his leg. Niji gulped knowing that if he said it again she would try (and succeed) at knocking him off her back.
"Okay I'm sorry. You don't like being the center of attention." Niji apologized knowing it was the only way to keep her from knocking him off. Quicksilver let out a loud neigh of delight. Before looking around.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Niji, Alex | Location: Forest | Team 1

"So what’s the situation?" Karter asked. "Won’t lie, I arrived a bit late 'cause of the snow. I honestly thought they were gonna call off the game. Is help needed anywhere? I can go wherever I’m needed."

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Team 2's Side of the River|Team 1|Tags: Kade (mentioned)|

Disregarding the biting cold slowly creeping through her body, Mirabelle pushed her way through the thickening snow. She could barely see three feet ahead of her in the quickly worsening blizzard. Maybe I should just try to find Chiron and get this whole thing called off. Despite Chiron's good intentions of boosting morale, she was certainly having second thoughts. Not for her own health or safety, mind you - she was much more concerned about the others caught out in the storm. She turned to look back the way she'd come, but quickly realised that her surroundings were becoming more and more unrecognisable in the blizzard. Panic rose in her chest, threatening to overtake her just as much as the tingling numbness in her limbs. It's alright, she mentally reassured herself. Just keep going forwards. You're bound to run into someone eventually. She knew she had to keep moving, or she would most certainly freeze to death. As she plodded onwards, Mirabelle thought she heard the crunch of snow underfoot from somewhere nearby. She turned to look for the source, but the falling snow impeded her vision more than she would have liked to admit.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Forest|Team 2|Tags: Aggie, Team 1 NPCs, Open|

Juliet heard them before she saw them. Ares cabin. Opposite team - not to mention her prime victim choice. They were yelling and tromping about in the snow, making no effort to be quiet. Evidently all fueled up on adrenaline, she reckoned. That being said - an Ares camper on adrenaline was quite the force to be reckoned with. Best be careful on this front. She waited until they were within eyesight - which was about three feet of her, given the horrid conditions - and watched their reactions carefully. One of the Ares kids - a big, brutish lad with a rather snowy helmet - held up a hand to the others. Crud. He must've sensed something is off. He slowly surveyed the area, his head stopping abruptly as he caught sight of Juliet's snow-camper decoy. She had to smother a laugh as the large son of Ares raised his weapon above his head and bellowed a loud battle cry before charging the snowman with all his might. It's now or never! Fighting through the slight stiffness in her muscles, she started lobbing snowballs at the Ares campers left and right.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Medical Tent|Tags: Aiden, Jamie, Tielo|

Chuck let out a breath he didn't realise he'd been holding when Tielo sputtered back to life. "Like, whoa, man, we totally thought we'd lost you there for a second," he breathed in relief. A sudden thought struck him, and he eyed the other boy warily. "Like, we didn't... right? You're like, not a zombie or anything?" The notion seemed silly as soon as it left his mouth, and the satyr laughed nervously. "Uh, kidding, kidding," he assured everyone, though he hadn't necessarily been joking at the time. "It's just like, good to have you back, man." Chuck shifted on his hooves while he listened to Aiden speak. His mind was rushing with many of the same questions, and he was eager to hear what was bound to be an interesting explanation.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Flying Over the Woods at Camp Half-Blood|Tags: Ayden, Hank (both mentioned), Open|

With the first wave of the attack underway, Vivienne focused on keeping the storm raging. She flew overhead on Ozymandias' back, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious on the ground.
And something suspicious there was indeed... A smaller storm much closer to the ground had begun to form. She knew that this was not her doing, and something in her gut told her that it wasn't her mother's either. Logic dictated that it could be another demigod, though it would have to be one associated with storms... or more particularly, snowstorms. Strangely curious, Vivienne directed her feathered steed towards the disturbance in the snow below. She kept quite a distance between her and the ground, whipping up a good enough cover as so to remain mostly unseen. She left a small area clear, however, so she could get a glimpse of what was happening below. Through the violent swirling snow, she thought she could make out a familiar figure...
Vivienne squinted. It was indeed the boy from her dream, she realised. And was that something glowing above his head? There was another figure standing nearby as well, but he was insignificant in her mind. The boy at the centre of the nexus of frigid winds drew her attention. Ayden, she recalled. It was as she'd originally suspected - he was another offspring of Khione. Having seen just about enough, Vivienne pulled upwards once more, intending to get back to her purpose.

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite/Cabin 10| Location: Forest| Tags: Team 1, communications, Niji, Karter| mentions: open

Alex was half listening to the conversion, not particularly tuned in as there was nothing of note to him. He eyed the horse, trying to work out a way up,
"Yeah, about getting up... how does that work?" He asked. Alex had never been on the camp pegasi, mainly because he had no real interest in animals. They required a certain control of ones emotions that Alex felt no need to develop.

Meanwhile, on team 2...

Henry "Hank" Walker|17| He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Forest |tags: Team 2, Guard team, Izzy, Aydan, open | mentions: Vivienne

"Hey, wait, it's okay!" Hank stepped closer to the boy, squinting his eyes at the sudden onset of sharp, frigid air and precipitation. Is that hale? He wondered, but focused on the task at hand.
At least I can see what it is. "Aydan, it's okay, here," He reached up to touch Aydan's shoulder, stepping closer til it was almost a one-armed embrace. "I know that one, you just got claimed by Khoine, the snow goddess," He said, eternally grateful that he had been paying attention in. counselor training, when they'd gone over the symbols of different claimings so they could help campers.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Forest | tags: Team 2, Chaos team, Juliet, open | Mentions: Ares NPCs

Aggy waited for Juliet to start, so eager that she almost jumped the gun. As soon as she went after the brawny campers, Aggy followed suit. She could barely see in the sudden blizzard, and she'd lost feeling in her extremities, but she hurled snowballs for all she was worth. Some of them even hit!

"Alright so first things first you have to be on the left side. Its a bit of tradition and it'll make her feel better since she's not used to being mounted on the right.
Put your left foot in that stirrup there Niji pointed. Then after you have your foot securely in there hop on up you'll probably want to grab onto something you can hse my arm if you want. As you're hoping up swing your right leg up here." Niji told him already ready to grab his arm and pull him up if needed.

the world came back to him in its pieces. sight and smell, taste and hearing, and then the feeling - like he'd been hit by a truck in the centre of his sternum. he supposed that was what prompted the question when he asked it, looking around, bewildered. the memory was in shreds, leaving him quickly. he had met his father. that seemed important. but the rest was slipping through his fingers. he focused on the thing held in front of him - ambrosia. "no, no," he shook his head. "i'm alright." he had heard stories about people burning up in response to the substance, and wasn't much a fan of the idea. "i feel fine."

his eyes fluttered over to jamie, face knitting its way into a frown. "sorry," he said. everyone in the room looked so damned anxious, and in a way, it was definitely his own fault. wherever he was, he had a very strong inkling that he hadn't wanted to leave. delaying his return must have been somewhat concerning for the people he had thrown to the wind for favour of -
the voice. his face fell. there it was, the memory in all of its vainglory. for a moment, he shut his eyes, cursed himself, then took the water offered to him, letting it coat his sandpaper-dry mouth.

the boy he didn't recognise was speaking, and his nervousness, despite the scenario, gave him a brief smile. "i crave sleep more than i crave... human brains, so... probably not." his heart wasn't in it. teilo's eyes trundled to aiden, blinking when his shoulder was punched. the issue at the lake had almost slipped his mind. "are you alright?" he asked, taking him in for a moment. "i was worried about you."

'could have died' seemed a tad inaccurate. "i mean, i did. but - it wasn't... i don't think 'permanent' is the right word." he rubbed his face. "i don't know, honestly. i saw something, and i was scared, and then -" he thought about the events. considered the father he could not place the name of, the voice in the dark, and decided against sharing that much yet. "and then there was this light. this tiny speck of light. and i was going towards it, like i was in a corridor..." he watched the three for their reactions, trying to stem the smile before it came. "it glowed brighter and brighter, and became these gates. these big, pearly gates. and there was this old geezer, and he said 'you've been a very naughty boy. a proper horrible little sod, you'," he put on a voice for the last part, then let the smile come out.

there were a lot of pains going on at the same time. his cheek, a cut surrounded by a throbbing, forming bruise, his shoulder, which burned against the cold blast, his legs, strained under the movement, and his damned back. still. if everything hurt, then nothing hurt. that was the way that he was going to view it.

when the thing descended and augusta confirmed that no, this wasn't her doing, he realised that things had taken a very large turn for the worse. the snow venti, as he chose to monicker it in his mind, sent spears of ice in his direction. in the corner of his eye, auggie seemed incapacitated. exhausted, he imagined. he wasn't going to let her get targetted by something that could probably smell fear.

"over here!" he belted, rushing as far as he could from the daughter of hades. "big icy bugger. tell you what, it's rubbish, isn't it? your whole getup, you look like you've coughed up your own twin. you look like how a primary school would dress up a kid to be an angel in the nativity." ice in his direction. he leapt out of the way, hands charging. "i was the donkey in mine. front half. and i got so tapped - so vexed that i was getting covered up by the costume that i took it off midway through so everyone could see it was me!" orin was garbling, but it seemed to be distracting the thing. "but, you know. i took it off, and no-one could tell the difference. they probably thought i looked more like a donkey than i had before. last minute costume change."

with that final sentence, he pulled his dagger from its sheath, threw it up into the air, and, in a trick he had been hoping to use for a long time, shot a beam of lightning from his hand into its blade. once charged, orin twisted the wind around it, sending the blade flying in the spirit's direction.
it hit, but did not kill yet. that was him out of ammo. he truly hoped that auggie would use its focus on him to her advantage, because it was beginning to advance.

"Khione?"Aydan said barely loud enough to be heard above the winds. He started to calm down enough to where he was no longer crying but was still breathing heavy and wasn't in control enough to calm the storm. He flinched at Hanks touch but allowed the light embrace. "I should have listened to him more, if I did I'd know more about the things at this camp..... I'd know more about my mother... and myself." he said. He could feel the sting in his throat of wanting to cry again but held it somewhat together, only letting a few tears escape. Then he felt the sense of someone watching them, he looked up to see the Dark haired girl on a creature. Then she left "S-She's real? And she's here." he whispered, he said it more to himself but it was loud enough for Hank to hear.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|medic tent|tags:Teilo, Chuck, Aiden|Team 1
Jamie bumped his fist against Aiden’s, giving a half smile. He didn’t feel like he’d done anything good, he mostly still just felt terrified. He glanced over at Chuck as the satyr started talking about zombies and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly, as he held back a smile. He could tell the satyr hadn’t entirely been joking, but with all the panic that had just ensued, he could hardly blame him for fearing the worst. He frowned slightly when Teilo apologized, unsure what exactly the boy was apologizing for. “Dude, you literally...” He waved his hands towards Teilo, unsure what exactly he was trying to say considering he didn’t know what had just happened to the other boy. “What are you sorry for?”

He watched Teilo with wide eyes as the boy began to explain what happened, his face looking more and more horrified with every word. He didn’t clue into the joke until the boy started to smile and Jamie realized he was just messing with them. He forced a nervous sounding laugh, trying to look like he hadn’t just fallen for the tale.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Forest, Zeus’ fist|tags:CTF group, Orin, Maria|Team 2
Auggie hesitated for a moment, her head still spinning slightly. Her ice powers only came out when she felt anger, panic, fear or any other sort of strong emotion. Having the sensation of the ice across her hands had triggered something in her, brought back things she’d begun to associate with the powers that were supposed to be a gift from her godly parent. She took a deep breath, silently willing her heart rate to go back to normal—or at least normal for a fight. When her senses focused again, she saw that Orin had drawn the attacking snow spirit away from her and was distracting it by...rambling about a school play? She almost wanted to laugh, though the whole situation seemed entirely devoid of humour.

Having regained at least some composure, she harnessed her power to manipulate shadows again. The camouflage wasn’t as strong this time, since she was already weakened from using it and her ice powers so much, but it was enough to cover her a little. Her dark purple hair and black clothes blended into the shadows, and seeing as the spirit was already distracted, it didn’t notice her creeping up behind it. She paused as Orin sent a charged blade into the spirit, it hit, but it wasn’t enough. Her eyes flicked to the boy briefly. He’d thrown his weapon, and now he had nothing to defend himself with. Now was her only chance.

It would’ve made the most sense to use her powers to incapacitate the spirit, but her powers were unpredictable and hard to control. Auggie decided to use the thing she knew well, the thing she knew she could control. She lunged forward, swinging her sword through the spirit with enough force to shatter a few of the ice crystals and send a powder of snow into the air. Before the spirit had time to react, she swung her sword back through the other way. Now she’d gotten it’s attention as the spirit spun to face her. She stumbled back, glaring at the whirlwind of ice and snow. The spirit was weakened, but it hadn’t been defeated yet. Unsure of what else to do, she raised her hand towards the thing.

She hadn’t meant to send the wave of ice at Orin earlier. She hadn’t even known how she’d done it, but now she only hoped she could do it again. She focused all her energy into her raised hand, to the frost crystals that covered her fingers and were spreading up her arm, to the cold that she couldn’t feel. Unfortunately, nothing happened. “Come on!” She yelled in anger, half directed at herself and half directed at her father for giving her such shoddy powers. She watched with wide eyes as the spirit began to advance once again, then her face hardened into its usual glare. “You want to kill me you stupid snowstorm? Go ahead!” She raised her voice above the harsh wind, hair whipping across her face.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite/Cabin 10| Location: Forest| Tags: Team 1, communications, Niji, Karter| mentions: open

Alex was only too happy to oblige, slipping his foot into the stirrup and throwing his body up. A strong gust of wind threatened to tug him back, and he grabbed onto Niji's arm for support before wrestling himself the rest of the way up. Once he was seated behind Niji, he was grinning from ear to ear, in spite of the cold. He didn't know what to do with his arms, and he didn't feel like falling again today, so he looped them loosely around Niji's waist. Having pulled his foot out of the stirrup to allow Niji to steer, he was feeling quite reckless. "So are we working border patrol, or like something else?" He asked, hardly able to keep the excitement out of his voice.

Meanwhile, on team 2...

Henry "Hank" Walker|17| He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Forest |tags: Team 2, Guard team, Aydan, open | mentions: Vivienne, Izzy

Hank looked up where Aydan had pointed, and his heart nearly stopped. Even with after all these years, he could identify the girl atop the...whatever it was, as Vivienne. Hank didn't have time to work out the Khione kid's words, he shoved himself around so he was between the kid and Vivienne, unsure of what the later would do. He glanced around for Izzy, mentally kicking himself for letting her run off to help the others. If Vivienne was here..
that was very bad news. He passed a quick smile to the boy. "Considering the fact that I still don't know what half the gods do, you're all good." He said in a rush, eyeing the the disappearing winged thing.
Still keeping his light tone, he added. "I don't mean to pressure you, but could you please shut down the storm. We have a much bigger problem than capture the flag." With that, he let out a sharp whistle, scanning the brush for his companion.

I don't want another death tonight, he shuddered, thinking of his first game. Then he looked back toward Aydan. "I can make a light signal to gather the campers, but it won't do much good in this weather, can you clear the flurries somewhat?" He asked, wincing. Even if he can, he's going to feel it tomorrow.
