Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Capture the Flag, Tags: Open, Team 2

Skylar had made a few rounds around camp and had distributed a few spells but had not yet been able to find a single quest member. After a while, she had to put a pause on her plan. It was time for Capture the Flag and she had to make sure all her campers knew what to do. Hecate Cabin was announced as Team 2, so she slowly made her way towards the group. There were a while bunch of people there, but she shouldered her way to the front. "Excuse me. Coming through! Camp counselor here." And the occasional, "I will blast you with magic if you touch me again!" But finally she made it to where the plan was happening.

Along with a few other Hecate campers, Skylar started to ask the others what the plan was. As the noise around her increased, she shouted to be heard. "Me and my siblings can help with traps and defense, or we can use our magic to sneak across! Whatever you guys need just tell me!"

plans were coming into order. the thought of creating chaos made teilo nod slowly. it was the best option - a diversion of their expectations. "shouldn't be too obvious, though," he pointed out. "or they might anticipate the ambush. it has to look real." he rubbed the back of his head, unused to conversing with the other campers. his eyes wandered towards izzy, and he, inadvertently, smiled at the sight of such an innocent looking creature - once he realised the deadpan mask had cracked, however, he returned it to its natural order, paying rapt attention to the others.

juliet took on the role of chaos-making, and it seemed like things were coming together. it was quite enjoyable, in a way. it did feel like a game rather than a dangerous thing, and he had to reel himself back. there was no need to be hasty. people had died in this forest. with the thought came the brush of harsh wind, as though something had heard him think about them. a ridiculous notion. there were no ghosts inside the camp. they couldn't get in. he knew that very well.

"i'm ready to go if we all are." he confirmed, looking over at the other conversing team. "who's hiding the flag?"

orin was not surprised to hear the contemptuous words, dripping in venom, directed at him. it was all part and parcel of his personality - something that he had learned a long time ago. people either loved him with all of their hearts or hated him to the pits of their being. he had moved beyond rising to the occasions, brushing them off like they were nothing. in all reality, he would have rather been seen as cocky and arrogant due to his personality rather than his father - he did not want to boast and peacock regarding that. he had long since moved past any feelings of superiority held over campers.
which was why, when ophelia mentioned the bolts of lightning, denoted him as a 'princely overlord', his expression faltered. just for a moment - a brief, tiny second, but faltered nonetheless. it threw him for a bit of a loop, but within seconds, he was back on the horse. "where i live? i live all over the place. i'm a man in very high demand. just this last summer i was in cork visiting my gran. lovely woman. hell of a mouth on her. irish to the bone." he smiled, turned to alex. "okay. that's great. beautiful. just - watch for where they're going. if they're advancing the fake flag or the real flag, run ahead and let us know, yeah?"

mira piped up a little, asking for the calming of tensions. "i don't see any problems here. just getting into the fighting spirit," he said, not quite undercutting her comment, but rather intending to reassure that it wasn't serious, it wasn't bad enough to cloud his gaze. "all on the winning team. that's an accomplishment of itself." she organised herself into her own spot, and emerson approached. "emmie!" he cheered. "our final puzzle piece! could you possibly take border patrol? stop anyone jumping over the creek with our gear?" it seemed they were mostly settled.

"right. are we good to go, then?"

Emerson "Emmie" Tags: Orin, Border patrol Location: Forest Team:1

"I uh... sure! Emerson said to her half sibling getting her wits back in order. She tousled the boys curly locks affectionately before heading off to the border. Once she got there she got her bow ready with an arrow. She was working on a trick and hopefully she could use it during this game. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt anyone too bad, she'd have to be careful of the voltage she'd be using.

Aydan Tags: Hank Location: Forest Team: 2

Aydan glanced at the boy with the dog in leather. Interesting, he wondered if the dog was comfortable with the leather and how well it was trained. He shook his head a bit as if to get rid of the silly curiosities. He looked to the boy who Juliet referred to with a nickname surrounding the fact he had a dog. Aydan opened his mouth after if he was going to say something then closed it again. Should he ask this camper what he wanted Aydan to do. He nodded to himself and decided to ask that."So dog boy, what would you want me to do? My weapons of choice are shurikensand daggers." he said to Hank a bit rougher than he intended.

Aiden 026

Postby Kveykva » Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:38 pm

    ──── Aiden Seaver
】| Athena Head Counselor | 15 | Male | Medical Tent | Tags: Chuck, Emerson, Niji
𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚜
Aiden, who'd been taking his own drink of the water supply, did a spit take, clapping a hand over his mouth and nose to keep from projecting water over the other camper. "I-I wasn't!" He snarled playfully, frankly offended that Niji would consider such a thing. "The ice was a little thin is all, gods." He avoided mentioning his discussion with Teilo; Aiden didn't blame the unclaimed demigod for dropping him into the lake. Accidents happen, and neither of them had gotten anything worse than a stuffy nose. All the better, considering hypothermia was a real risk they'd be facing tonight. Combining the current state of the weather with children of Zeus, Posideon, and Khione... Capture the Flag was stacking up to be far more lethal than usual. "So, your pops is ol' Mr. D, eh?" Aiden tilted his head, black locks grazing his eyelashes. "I can kinda see it. Did you actually get a claiming, or did he just tell you?" Aiden met a few children of Dionysus, only because he'd been at camp for so long, but none of them were particularly memorable like Niji.

Chuck's talk of food began to remind the Athena head counselor of his own rumbling belly; he didn't eat too much at dinner, and while the thought of some ambrosia did sound delicious, they needed those supplies for injured campers. He settled for some crackers instead. "Stop it, Chuck." He jested, nudging the satyr's shoulder. "All your talk of food is getting me hungry too." All his talk was in a vain attempt to ease Chuck's consciousness and keep it off the howling winds outside. Chuck was a skittish soul, and Aiden considered him a little too gentle for his own good. If the Athena camper could keep his head anchored in the tent, the satyr's words and actions stayed unclouded. He glanced at the clock. It'd been about twenty minutes so far, and without much warning, he pinched the skin on Niji's forearm. "Alright," Aiden decided. "You're good to go, but take it easy, and come back if you start to feel light-headed."

Niji laughed, the noise sounding like twinkling bells before realizing that he had actually offended Aiden.
"Sorry. I wasn't meaning anything bad by it." Njji said holding his hands out in a surrendering pose.
Niji wasn't sure what Aiden meant by being able to see his resemblance, but he hoped it was good.

Niji shrugged. "He just kinda said "oh I guess I have to claim you you're mine now go away." Niji gave a fake smile and hoped to the gods that it looked real. Niji glanced up when he heard Aiden's stomach growl.
"All this talk about me needing to eat and here you haven't been either. Well, well how the turn tables... turn. I have some Falafel if you want some." Niji said taking some wrapped up falafel out of his pocket. It was in a ziploc baggie and it hadn't been long since he had been heated it up, so it was still pretty warm.
Niji yelped when Aiden pinched his arm and batted at his hand.
"A little warning next time?" Niji asked tilting his head. He wasn't close to upset just a bit surprised.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Forest|tags:CTF group, Teilo|Team 2
Auggie narrowed her eyes at being gestured towards, the boy clearly didn’t know her name. She could hardly expect him to, since he was new and she didn’t actually know his, but her expression was rarely anything other than a glare anyways. “Auggie,” She said coldly, then nodded in response to his question. “Guess so,” She replied, pulling out one of her knives and flipping it in her hand again, a habit she’d began resorting to whenever she felt impatient and needed to do something with her hands. Seeing that the group had sorted out their plans and a few people were already starting to head into the woods, she broke off from the group and started walking into the trees. She glanced up at the sky, the snow seemed to be coming down harder now and there was a cold breeze that made her shiver, but she did her best to ignore it. She didn’t need any distractions right now, and she definitely didn’t want to think about snow and ice.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Meanwhile, on team 2...

Henry "Hank" Walker|17| He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7: Head Counselor | Location: Forest | tags: Guard team, Izzy, Aydan, open | mentions: Juliet

'Dog boy'? Hank halted and stopped working the photokinesis camoflage, coming back into full view. This is what I get for letting Juliet's comment slide. He turned toward the boy, flashing a smile to cover for any slowness in his response. "Depends on how much you like running," He said, "If you can stay in an area and be quiet, come with me. If you want to move, and you can do it fast, it's better to go with Juliet over there." He gestured toward her.
"Izzy here is gonna lead us to the flag site, cause we have to go around the long way to avoid suspicion." He nodded to himself. Just like setting up for a big hunt.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Forest | tags: Team 2, Chaos team, Juliet | Mentions

Aggy held it together at the nickname, barely, and nodded along. She grinned, a little too enthusiastic for the oncoming battle. She tampered it down enough to look vaguely insulted. "I didn't say I liked beating people up, I said I liked fighting them," She grumbled defensively. "That does sound fun though," She granted, looking back up at the blonde.

Aydan Tags: Hank Location: Forest Team: 2

Aydan had a few likes and running wasn't really one of them. "I can be quiet, ill take my chances with you and Izzy over there." he said pointing at the leather bound dog with a smirk. Aydan preferred quiet it was very peaceful to him, like it was for most, and Juliet did not seem like a quiet kinda of gal. Though he preferred quiet he did have a question for the head counselor that was bothering him. "The counselors lately have seemed a bit up and arms lately... its about this quest thats happening soon isn't it? I've heard rumors about the quest but nothing of great detail so I was wondering if you could... enlighten me." he asked the boy, his heart beating nervously.

teilo was thankful for auggie's sharing of the name - it would have been a tad awkward if he needed her help with something and had neglected to find out what it was. the thought sent a shiver down him. once again, it could have been the cold. there was no need to discount it to his rampant anxieties.

he glanced at valkeri when she spoke, offered her a little shrug. "if you wanna run with us, then you can. but you might be a bit... i don't know. revealed. we're not gonna be out in the open." an awkward smile. "i'm gonna... yeah. i'm gonna go." one last sweeping glance, his lips pressed together. "good luck." he offered to anyone who was listening, and then he was off like a shot, rushing into the forest, through the trees.

he didn't know the forest well. perhaps that was something of a hindrance - but in his mind, it removed the biases that would have plagued the others. his brain did not immediately go to 'obvious' spots, nor did it go to 'hiding' spots - everything was a chance, and his gaze combed across all of the landscape revealed to him in a methodical manner. a grand rock structure. the occasional sound of twigs snapping. if someone approached, if he heard a step, he shifted into invisibility. he was careful not to wear himself out with overexertion, so only used it when he thought it appropriate. his breath sounded heavy in his ears.
something felt quite wrong. he wasn't sure why.

"you can hide it, laurel. i think you'll do a fantastic job," he nodded. "and true guard can follow you." he nodded to his half-sister, gave her a little look of 'good luck', and stretched.
emmie plunged her hand into his hair and he laughed, the sound reverberating off the trees, singing back to him. "have a good one, lovely. if you clutch this all for us, then i'll clean the cabin for a week. no questions asked." a preposition that certainly held some weight. it wasn't that he was messy, no - just existed in a state of organised chaos. he knew where his things were, what item of crumpled clothing his coins hid under, but to the outside eye, it looked like a bomb had gone off in his wardrobe most nights.

the run to zeus' fist felt shorter than he recalled. maybe he had just grown - maybe he was just faster. his mind went back to previous games. games that he had lost, games that he had won, games in which tragedy had clouded the result, making it difficult to discern who could possibly consider themselves a victor after such awful things wrought them. it was difficult to think about. it was also difficult to not think about. quite the conundrum.
orin reached the base of zeus' fist, making sweeping glances around to check for witnesses. once it was confirmed he was alone, he got to making the false flag. a large stick, a collection of leaves, which, upon fused together with a bit of electrical magic, looked large enough to pass as a piece of flowing fabric, put together to make a pretty damned good effort. it could fool someone. it wouldn't fool him, obviously, but he was impossible to be fooled.
he plunged the stick into a crack in the rock formation, making sure it stood up right, then, with bare, sore hands, picked up globs of snow to cover the leaves, obscuring the overt green colour. "damn good job, that," he whispered to himself.
after his arts and crafts session was done, he span, keeping a piercing gaze on all available ambush points, his ear out for noises, crackles, crunches in the snow, gasps and breaths.
