|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Forest|Tags: CTF Group|

The rest of the day passed rather uneventfully, apart from the snow still spiraling in lazy flakes from the sky. Mirabelle had taken some time to sketch out winter fashion ideas, pondering her imminent departure on the quest as she did. She would have to pick a replacement for head counselor while she'd be gone, she realised. A few candidates came to mind. After some thought, she'd settled on the perfect individual. Now all she had to do was ask.
Mirabelle had also asked around her cabinmates to see about prophetic dreams, though had little luck in discovering anything. When it came time for dinner, she had scraped a portion of her meal into the fire, silently sending up a prayer to anyone who would listen. She'd prayed for protection of the camp, as well as the quest group. When she'd finished her meal, she had headed off to change into her armour for Capture the Flag. She dressed warmly underneath it; the cold weather hadn't gone anywhere in the meantime.
When she was ready, she looked herself over in the mirror. A formidable figure looked back at her, clad in untraditional leather armour with a celestial bronze breastplate and helmet. The wine-coloured feathers atop her helm would stand out against the snow, but stealth wasn't exactly Mirabelle's style to begin with. Her belt of makeup products looked... less intimidating. But anyone who had fought against her in the past knew the true nature of her cosmetic arsenal.
When she'd finished, she braced herself against the cold and made her way to the edge of the woods. A group of campers was slowly gathering around Chiron. The centaur's eyes darted to the sky, keeping a watch on the weather, it seemed.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Forest|Tags: CTF Group|

After the whole lake debacle, Juliet had Iris messaged her mom to see how things were going. Her mom told her that it was snowing in Brooklyn as well. That had worried her, but her mom had been pretty reassuring about the whole thing. She'd figured it was some 'crazy demigod thing', in her words, not Juliet's, and wanted to make sure Juliet and Romeo were doing okay.
After dinner, Juliet had fed Romeo and prepared for Capture the Flag. Not only had she armed herself with her trusty old dagger and armour, but a boatload of pranking supplies to boot - including the armour and sword she'd filched from the armoury earluer that day. She couldn't wait to put this prank into action. With any luck, she'd be playing against the Ares campers. They would make the perfect victims for her prank.
With that in mind, Juliet headed out to the woods to start. She tugged her coat over her armour; she would need it to keep warm in the frigid weather.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Medical Tent|Tags: Open|

Chuck had spent the remainder of his day helping all of the wildlife get situated. There was a lot of confusion with the sudden cold front - the migrating birds were in chaos, the squirrels were furious, and the bears were practically falling asleep on their paws. Chuck had worked with the other satyrs and nymphs, as well as some of the Demeter campers, to make sure every animal was at least comfortable for the weather. Mr. D was none too happy about the migratory birds taking up refuge in the Big House's attic, but Chuck was able to smooth it over with him.
For the last half an hour or so, Chuck had been working with some of the Apollo campers and a few satyrs to get the medical tent set up for Capture the Flag. It served as a makeshift infirmary; it was a rather long way to carry wounded campers from the woods to the Big House. The tent was stocked with all sorts of medical supplies, including nectar and ambrosia. The nymphs had also volunteered to make hot chocolate, which was warming in a huge pot on some sort of portable burner a Hephaestus camper had made.

(No Vivienne for now... she'll make her appearance later c:<)

winona-eighteen-hecate-open

After she had grabbed food, Winona headed back to her cabin. She pulled Jareth out from where he was sleeping, and stroked his head, and kissed his nose. "I will be back later." She murmured, tucking him into the mess of blankets he had adopted as his burrow. She pulled her knives out, examining them. No evidence they'd been tampered with. She was looking forward to the game, it was a chance to actually let loose. She pulled her jacket on, zipping up, hooking her knives into her belt. She'd spelled them to return to her, saves time and is kinda safer. As she stood up, the cabin glowed with a bright light, growing into the form of...her mother.

She swallowed. Oh, crap. This could go either really well or really wrong. Winona took. deep breath, sitting back down. She had wanted to be early, but mother would be furious if she rushed their meeting. "Hello my little star." Hecate said, giving her a soft smile. Winona softened slightly. Her whole life she had wondered why her mom had abandoned her...sometimes she wondered if she judged Hecate too harshly. "Hi mother." She said quietly. "Capture the flag today, yes?" Winona nodded silently. "You've been practicing your magic?" Hecate asked, reaching over to brush Winnie's hair back. "Yeah, especially the fire." She answered. She was kind of hoping she wouldn't let her guard down, but...she had bits and pieces of her mom, most of it when she was four. She'd been around every so often, back then. "Good. It will serve you well to use your natural gifts." Hecate said, pulling out a small, blue, velvet bag. "This is nothing special. Just a good luck charm, so to speak. No actual magic involved. Just a reminder to be you, and that you aren't ever alone." She pulled a small, silver star necklace out, reaching over and putting it around Winona's neck. "Go on and shine, my child." Hecate said, pressing a kiss to her forehead, before disappearing the same way she'd come in.

Winona sat on her bed for a moment longer, kind of shocked. Hecate never just...well, maybe she did, and Winona was too busy being...Winona.She finally stood up. Crap. She sprinted down to the meeting area, glancing around. Cool. Not too many people there. She picked a tree, and climbed up into a low hanging branch, leaning against the trunk.

despite his previous apprehension to the concept of a camp event, the events of the day had been enough stress to make teilo almost look forward to the thought of being thrown into something that would take his mind off of things.

after the lake, he had a steaming hot shower, changed his clothes, and got himself some food - this time choosing not to shroud his visibility, but instead finding himself a spot where he would not be approached, and further into the evening, dressed himself for what he assumed was comparable to 'battle'. the armour he had did not fit him perfectly, but well enough, and before he left, he picked up the object that he had kept under his bed for the length of his stay at camp.

it was difficult to recall his starting days at camp half-blood, but a significant moment in his memory had been his fourth morning, waking up after a particularly heavy night of emotional anguish regarding his new circumstances, when he had found, underneath his bed, a scythe.
he had thought it had been misplaced. had even ventured to speak to chiron about it - but all that had come from the meeting was a knowing smile, a comment about it perhaps being a 'gift', and that someone was looking 'favourably' upon him. the centaur was strange at the best of times, but he had considered that his permission to keep it. and, if he was being honest, he liked the way he looked as he brandished the weapon. it fit in his hands nicely, weighted perfectly in his grasp, and he imagined he looked like the superheroes he had seen in comic books.
or the supervillains. there was a thin line between the two archetypes. he wasn't sure which side of them he was on.

regardless, he pulled it from its hiding place and made his way to the forest, where swarms of campers were heading, and silently cursed himself for not dressing better for the weather. when he arrived, in the little crowd that surrounded chiron, he felt pleased to find that he was capable of sinking into the crowd of faces, mostly ignored.

it had been a very long day, and orin was looking forward to spending the evening without, hopefully, too much of a hitch.

first had been the strange weather. and then the meeting, and then the rest - meeting with the campers, new and old, making his general presence known, and all of those things had managed to add up to an ocean of stress that he thought was only capable of being shifted by a good old fashioned game of capture the flag.
it was one of his favourites. though he didn't tend to take many things seriously, orin had a very competitive spirit. if he had to take one thing in its entirety, it was winning. there wasn't much else that brought him such glee - apart from the occasional mischief made, but that was dust in the wind.

he dressed in his body armour, which still fit from last year, thankfully, stashed his lighter in one of his pockets, and headed out to the woods with a grin and a swagger in his step. there was much to fear - much to come, but in that moment, shining and glorious, the only thing that the campers had to worry about was the protection of their team's flag. there was something wonderful about that, their feigned ignorance to the circumstances that surrounded them in form of frozen grass and frosty lakes, for favour of a good time.
he did hope that it would be a good time. prayed that there were no disasters on the cards.

as the campers gathered, he glanced up at the darkening sky, and made a show of pressing two of his fingers to his lips, kissing them, and pointing them at the smattered clouds. "this one's gonna be for you, big man," he said. it wasn't much of a prayer, but it would suffice. he had made his sacrifices for the day, piled the best of his meal into the hearth, and he hoped that it would pay off.

otherwise, the buzzing atmosphere was sending him into a state that was almost describable of ecstasy. a wonderful thing, for everyone to be together again after some stints in the mortal world. they were looking forward to having fun, and fun was what they were going to get.
of course, when it came to the campers who would be assigned to his opposing team, he hoped that they would be able to learn that yes, it can even be fun to lose.

Ophelia Rogers|She/her|Aphrodite|Location: Dining Pavilion|tags: CTF Group

Ophelia had taken her leave of other people after lunch, instead taking a moment in the barn to check up on Spicy and give the mare some love. Really, it had more been for her own nerves than that of the pegasi, but the equine had enjoyed the grooming nonetheless. Ophelia had even hidden in the back of the mare's spacious stall to work on sharpening her blades, careful not to frighten the large equine.
That carefulness meant it had taken her much longer than usual to get them finished, but avoiding people was kind of the whole point. She needed to think, and she couldn't let her mind run uninterrupted while she had company.

Ophelia stood up and ran a hand under the mare's chin, smiling faintly as she leaned into the gesture. Her mind was elsewhere.
It's been a year, why do I still care? She wondered, picking up a comb to work out the knots in Spicy's mane. Life isn't a fairytale, happy endings don't exist, remember?
The mare pulled away as she tore ferociously at a lock of knotted mane. "Sorry girl, maybe it's best I let that one go," She whispered, just loud enough for the pegasus to hear. She stepped out of the stall, placing the comb back in a brush box as tears pricked at her eyes. Gods, you're too sensitive for this. She thought, pulling her jacket around her as she fled the stables.

When she entered Cabin 10, she realized that she had lost track of time. She cursed her luck in ancient greek, then set about getting her armour together. She still smelled of horses but, unlike some of her half-siblings, she found the odor comforting, as if one of the large creatures was nearby.

She shrugged on her mismatching leather armour, procurred in bits and pieces fron the armoury. Although she liked designing armour, Ophelia still felt the need to maintain her persona by using the battered odds and ends.
She flicked out her shield, grinning as the winding dragon seemed to come to life in the flourescent light, before dipping out of the cabin and jogging to the meeting place.

Henry "Hank" Walker|He/him|Apollo|Location: Forest|tags: CTF Group, Izzy

Hank took his time with his heavy armour, strapping each piece on with meticulous attention to detail. At camp, there was ambrosia and nector to heal just about every injury, but he still didn't like to stray too near to death's doors. He worked on adjusting the last piece, a guard for his right shoulder. His left was only covered in a thick piece of leather, to not hinder his shooting. The bronze armour leg guards seemed to glow, but that was for the better as it would make it easier for him to harness the light to camoflage. Izzy was a different story, but she knew how to stick out of the way.

Hank had lost track of time, and he only noticed that his cabinmates were gone when he took in the silence after he checked Izzy's leather carapace. Did they really just leave without saying anything? he wondered. It was quite possible, but it was also true that many of them were rather focused in their own pregame routines.
"Ready girl?" He asked Izzy, tapping a thigh for her to follow as he trekked out into the snow.

Alex Burns|17|He/him| Aphrodite| Location: Forest| Tags: CTF group

Alex huffed, rather disappointed that his least favorite activity hadn't been cancelled. Still, he strapped on some fitted leather armour, wincing as he pulled the chest tight and making a mental note to take it to the forge for a much needed upgrade. Or maybe just a new set of armour in general. This particular one had been made when he thought black leather would look striking, and while it did, it was also a pain to polish the nicks out of and didn't match his current look.
He flipped his axe out of it's pin setting, enjoying the farmilat weight of it in his arms. While he did love the thing, it was not well suited to use in his everyday life.
He took one last look in the mirror, frowning as he looked over his costume. Better get on that new armour ASAP. Hopefully he wouldn't have to wear it for long.
He trudged out the door, pinning a chipper look on his face as he approached the gathered kids.

**Aggy will be updated later. She's also at the CTF group, and can be interacted with**

Niji Sakura Budōnoki • 17 • (he/they) • Homosexual • Dionysus • Location: forest• Tags: CTF group

After Niji was done paying a visit to the horses and praying he realized that capture the flag was still on and gulped. He didn't really know how to play, but since it had something to do with training he would probably need some type of armor. Niji ran to the armory and hastily picked out a metal breastplate and traditional greek helmet along with leather shin guards. He looked like an idiot, but he quickly put them on not knowing how to do it properly and put his quiver and bow on his back and shoved his wire in his back pocket. Niji ran to the forest hoping they weren't late.
Not that it mattered because any creature within earshot could hear him due to his ill-fitting armor.
Niji wondered how much use he would be even without his noisiness.
Niji huffed not used to carrying the armor around. He huffed and shuffled to the group he sounded like someone was throwing a brick at a tree.
With every movement a *clunk creak! Clunk creak!* could be heard. By the time Niji got to the group he was sweaty, out of breath, red faced, couldn't hardly breathe, and his vision was blurry, but it didn't help he hadn't drank anything other than the juicebox at lunch. He had just forgot in his excitement.
Niji walked up to the ne3srest person and gasped out. "Has.. it... started."
Niji's vision started to move on him and certain he was falling Niji grabbed onto the person for dear life.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Forest|tags:CTF group
After her spar with Aggy, August hadn’t been in the mood to deal with anyone. She’d headed to the armoury to sharpen her blades before capture the flag, and then gone to the dining pavilion where she sat at the very end of cabin 13’s table so as to avoid her cabin mates. There wasn’t very many of them, so it hadn’t been hard. She’d scraped a portion of her food into the fire, as was tradition, though she had never felt very grateful towards the gods. Her father had never been a part of her life, and he’d completely abandoned her to deal with her awful mother all on her own until she escaped and was brought to camp. As far as she knew none of the other gods had ever done anything for her either, so she didn’t know why she should pray to any of them.

She was still a little sore from practicing in the arena on her own, as well as from her spar with Aggy. The younger girl had given her a couple of bruises, though she’d never admit to the that. Auggie was actually quite impressed. For a new camper, Aggy fought fiercely, and she didn’t give up even after August had given her a few hard hits with the flat of her blade. She’d never admit any of that either, especially not to Aggy. She’d called it off before it had gone too far, saying they should save their energy for capture the flag. She wasn’t going to let the kid draw blood on her or she’d never live that down.

Back in cabin 13, she strapped on her armour, trying to ignore her aching muscles in hope that it would just go away. Capture the flag might just be a game, but in Auggie’s mind there was never room for weakness, no matter how small or insignificant the situation. When she was ready, she made her way down to the woods, seeing that a few campers were already gathered there. She stood a little ways back from everyone else, not wanting to get close enough for someone to start up a conversation with her, but still wanting to be able to hear what was going on.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Forest|tags:CTF group
Jamie had stalled getting ready as long as possible. He wasn’t a fan of fighting one on one, but capture the flag was so much worse. The people who were usually his fellow campers were suddenly supposed to be his enemies, and anyone could attack at any moment. Not to mention the forest gave him the creeps, there always seemed to be strange things lurking around and after this afternoon he knew there were bears in these woods. Of course, bears were probably the least of his worries, but that didn’t make him any less worried.

Once he realized that procrastinating wouldn’t make capture the flag happen any less soon, he began to get ready, strapping on his various mismatched pieces of armour haphazardly. Although he’d been at camp for three years, he still wasn’t great at putting on armour, but he tried his best to secure it, not wanting to increase his chances of being injured.

He walked down to the forest with his heart pounding in his chest. Nothing had even happened yet and he was already terrified. He hated that he was such a coward but he couldn’t help it. Glancing up at the cloud covered sky, he remembered the conversation he’d had earlier with Chiron and Chuck. He’d said he’d talk to one of the head counsellors and he hadn’t, he’d spent most of the afternoon drawing in his sketchbook and trying not to think about prophetic dreams. It didn’t seem possible that he could be part of something so important. He was freaking out over a simple game of capture the flag and now he was supposed to be part of a quest? There must’ve been some mistake. He shook the thought away and turned his attention to the group of campers gathering around, hoping his nervousness didn’t show on his face, though it most certainly did.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Aydan Tags: Open Location: near the forest

Aydan brushed off the feelings of yesterday and woke up to a new day. He was made aware that there was going to be a capture the flag event. He wasn't particularly looking forward to interacting today but he could use the training. He took a quick shower and put on some black joggers and a black tight long sleeve. He was never one to get cold easy so he didn't bother with coats or more layers. He put on some boots and heading out of the Hermes cabin to the armory to pick up daggers and shurikens after grabbing the weapons he made his way to the forest with shuffling feet.

Emerson "Emmie" Tags: Niji Location: Forest

Emerson was disappointed she couldn't get extra practice in with Karter but she woke up early in the morning to do some solo practice. She was now on her way to the forest to wait for the others with her bow and arrows. She was waiting patiently until someone unexpectedly grabbed onto her. She looked at the person in concern"Are you... ok? And no to answer your question" she said helping the boy back up as best as she could.

"T-thanks... I guess." Niji panted. He couldn't seem to catch his breath and wasn't sure why.
"I-I can't-" They wheezed out unable to form.the sentence.

"Hwweh." Niji started shocking himself with the poor attempt at making a word.
Niji pointed to his throat hoping that the person would understand.
Niji wasn't sure who the person was mostly because his vision was swimming so bad that he couldn't see and had to shut his eyes to avoid puking on the person's feet and not solely on the fact that he hadn't met the person before.

Niji flopped down on the ground ripping the armor off of himself the best he could without vision which wasn't the best since he forgot he had his crossbow and quiver on his back and his garrote wire had wrapped itself around his leg when he flopped onto the ground. Niji wheezed and looked at where he thought the person was, which happened to be at the far left of the person, and gave a pitiful wheeze that was supposed to be him asking for help.

Emmie's heart started beating fast as the person plopped on the ground. She didn't know what to do exactly, he seemed very dehydrated. She tried to think of the best way to retrieve water. She remembered there's a stream pretty close by, she could carry him there. She maneuvered him onto her back and carried him over to the stream. She laid him down close to the stream and then she kneeled down next to him. "Are you asthmatic at all? Pat my leg once for yes and twice for no."she said as she started cupping some water for him.
