"Like, thanks, man!" Chuck smiled when Jamie complimented his reed pipe playing. "Like, I'll totally have to try that soon. They were like, chill with Pink Floyd, man, even got 'em to grow faster! ...Village People, on the other hand..." He rubbed his throat reflexively. "They like, totally tried to strangle me. Not cool, strawberry dudes, not cool." He thought back on the now snow-covered fields. "Hopefully, like, Mr. D or someone's protecting them with like, some sort of godly power or something. Even if they don't like me. We still need the income to keep this place up and runnin', you know?" He shook his head slowly. "That's just capitalism, man."

Vivienne's indignance was interrupted by the commanding presence of someone new. She kept her face a stony mask of stolidity as she looked over the stranger. Given his glimmering black wings, her first thought was Thanatos. But there was something decidedly un-Thanatos about this newcomer... his formal mannerisms, his thin build, and not to mention his paler skin - Thanatos had skin the colour of teakwood, Vivienne recalled from her years of study on the Greek gods. She turned to her mother with a calculating stare, silently demanding an explanation.
Khione nodded sharply. "This is my protégé," the goddess introduced her, though her voice remained cold and unemotional. Her white maxi dress shimmered like the spiraling snowflakes around them as she moved closer to the stranger. "Vivienne, this is... an acquaintance." She hissed out the last word, subtly letting her daughter know that he was an ally. "Let us come... inside. There is much to discuss." The goddess led them into the system of tunnels that had served as Vivienne's home for the good part of five years.
Though Vivienne's exterior remained cool and collected, internally, she was brimming with questions. Her mother had never told her that they were to meet with a potential ally that day... Thankfully, she was still dressed in semi-formal clothing; a pale blue gown embroidered with white snowflakes. She felt mildly betrayed that Khione hadn't talked this over with her first, but she supposed that there hadn't necessarily been time - after all, the goddess had been quite busy dumping snow all over the state of New York.
Mirabelle smiled, a sad yet genuine smile. Pippa's concern for her and Ophelia was touching. She could tell that the other girl wasn't necessarily being fully honest about her feelings, but decided not to push it for the time being. "Well, if you need anything, I'll be here," she said reassuringly. "At least, until the quest starts. But even then - I'm only an Iris message away."
When they caught up with Ophelia at the dining pavilion. Mirabelle sensed that something wasn't quite right. Despite all of Ophelia's methods to hide her emotions, the Aphrodite head counselor could usually tell when someone had been crying. She was rather an expert on hiding tears herself - she had years of practise on that front. Though worry prickled at her heart, she decided not to say anything for now. If I were in her shoes, I would want to pretend it never happened and move on. Instead, she offered Ophelia a smile and headed over to the buffet table to figure out what she wanted to eat.

"Yeah, we totally make a habit out of angering evil Elsa in particular," Juliet snickered. A cold breeze blew sharply in her direction with quite some force, nearly making her stumble. She glared up at the sky and cursed under her breath in ancient greek. As she turned back to the Aphrodite kid, her playful smirk returned. "But nah. Even we couldn't pull something like this off. The gods are pretty much the only ones who can control the weather in camp to this major of an extent, or so I've been told." She absently noted to test that theory eventually. Maybe get a bunch of Zeus campers together and see what happens? "Anyways," Juliet continued. "I'm really hoping they don't cancel Capture the Flag tonight. Aiden - you know, the Athena head counselor? He said they might if the weather keeps up."
