Auggie studied his face for a moment, blue-grey eyes narrowed. “You’re trying not to laugh,” She commented, her expression blank, though she didn’t sound angry. She bit her tongue to keep from smiling at his acknowledgment of how casually she had said what she’d done, though she quickly suppressed the urge. “It was one of the new campers,” She explained. “I told her it was a test she had to pass before she was allowed to use a weapon, and if she couldn’t beat me in a race she’d have to jump in the lake.” She left out the part where she’d cheated and used her powers to trip the girl up. “She’s fine,” She said in response to his question. “Might’ve actually done her some good.” She muttered, thinking of the younger girl’s attitude. She didn’t usually speak so freely, but she trusted Sam more than most people at camp—although that was still very little. However, her moment of near vulnerability was quickly over and her gaze hardened once again as she changed the subject. “Want to spar?” She asked, nodding towards the arena where she’d been headed. “I’ll go easy on you.” She added, with a challenging smirk.

Jamie pulled the satyr to his hooves and watched as he dusted himself off. He chuckled at his joke and fell into step beside him as they headed towards the woods. He paled slightly at Chucks question, biting his lip as he thought for a moment. “I mean, yeah...” He responded, though he didn’t sound too sure. He couldn’t just tell Chiron he was going to do something and then not do it, but he guessed he had already lied to the centaur, even if it was only for a second. “But they’re probably all pretty busy with this stuff, right?” He reasoned, trying to convince himself that he was being rational. He kept his eyes on the ground as he walked, kicking up a flurry of snow with one foot. “If I run into one of them and it comes up...maybe. But I don’t want to bug anyone.” He concluded, sounding as if he didn’t quite believe himself.
